[Description of methods used for collection/generation of data] The composition and cover of dominant woody species (shrubs and trees), with the capacity to act as nurse plants, was characterized in plant communities across the Andalusian Red Natura 2000 (Directiva Habitats 92/43/CEE). The composition and cover (m^2 and %) of woody species in each plant community were sampled throughout two main methodologies: 1) plot-based, composition and cover at the understory layer was estimated in 1 plot [50 x 50 m] and 2500 m^2 of total sampled area; 2) transect-based, composition and cover in the canopy and understory layers, together with dead and overlapping individuals, was estimated in 20 transects [10 x 50 m], representing 100 squares [10 x 10 m] and a total sampled area of 10000 m^2. Complete descriptions of the methodological procedures can be found in Alcántara et al. (2019) and Verdú et al. (2022). The plots/transects were randomly distributed, trying to cover the largest possible area within each locality to avoid sampling bias. The study was developed in 38 plant communities across 19 protected areas distributed within the Andalusian RedNatura 2000. The present dataset can help to assess plant community dynamics of Mediterranean woody species. Here, we stress the importance incorporating abundance or cover for all co-occurring woody species together with ecological interactions, not just individual records, as key elements in assessing the state of ecosystems., This work was funded (1) by Proyecto FEDER SUMHAL-Sustainability for Mediterraean Hospost in Andalusia integrating LifeWatch ERIC [Work Package 5. [EN] A monthly precipitation gridded data set over mainland Spain between December 1915 and December 2020. The dataset combines ground observations from the National Climate Data Bank (NCDB) of the Spanish national climate and weather service (AEMET) and new data rescued from meteorological yearbooks published prior to 1951 that was never incorporated into the NCDB. The yearbooks data represented a significant improvement of the dataset, as it almost doubled the number of weather stations available during the first decades of the 20th century, the period when the dataset was more scarce. The final dataset contains records from 11,312 stations. Spatial interpolation was performed using geostatistical techniques over a regular 0.1° × 0.1° grid, using a two-stage process: estimation of the probability of zero-precipitation (dry month), and estimation of precipitation magnitude., [ES] Conjunto de datos en rejilla de precipitación mensual en la España peninsular, entre diciembre de 1915 y diciembre de 2020.

[Description of methods used for collection/generation of data] We use available information from mycorrhizal databases to assign mycorrhizal type and status to our sampled plant species. Two databases were reviewed, Bueno et al. (2017) and FungalRoot (2020). Bueno et al. has info at the species level, while FungalRoot has multiple observations per species. For this reason, a species was assigned to a particular mycorrhizal type, whether the number of observations was equal or higher than 70 %, otherwise we assigned multiple associations. In the case of species that did not match with both databases, mycorrhizal type was assigned based on information at the genus, tribe or family level. Once each species was classified to a particular mycorrhizal type, we followed to assign their status. References: - Soudzilovskaia, N. Dataset of the Checklist of the Vascular Plants of Río Muni (Equatorial Guinea), An updated checklist of the vascular plants from the continental region of Equatorial Guinea, Río Muni is presented. The catalogue (Appendix 1) is the result of the compilation of identified herbarium specimens (6850), bibliographic references with species records (7985) and online databases (10109 GBIF records and 8897 RAINBIO records). A database of 23517 georeferenced vascular plant records was prepared by updating the nomenclatural and standardizing the locality names from all these sources. The catalogue comprises 2707 taxa (2598 species, 81 subspecies, and 28 varieties) included in 1020 genera and 178 families. About 90.6% of the taxa are considered native, 1.17% introduced and 5.96% naturalized. The 10 most diverse families are Rubiaceae (294 species), Fabaceae (290), Orchidaceae (168), Poaceae (105), Euphorbiaceae (87), Apocynaceae (85), Cyperaceae (79), Annonaceae (68), Acanthaceae (65 ) and Melastomataceae (61), which comprise 49.22% of the species in Río Muni. Only 11 species can be considered endemic to Río Muni; this low number reflects the absence of natural barriers in the territory. The number of threatened taxa (VU, EN and CR) is 134 (5.02% of the total evaluated), of which 43 are at risk of extinction, being within the categories of Endangered or Critically Endangered. Five species with restricted distribution to the Gulf of Guinea are considered threatened: three Endangered (Grossera angustifolia, Polyscias aequatoguineensis and Rhipidoglossum montealenense), and two Critically Endangered (Asplenium carvalhoanum and Macropodiella uoroensis), thus they should be considered as priority in management plans development and conservation strategies., Peer reviewed
