- Navas, Alfonso
- Cobacho Arcos, Susana
Note: this dataset was previously orphaned. It has been rescued by ① extracting it from the GBIF.org index (see GBIF Download in External Data) and ② republishing it on this IPT data hosting centre as version 1.0.

It holds more than 300.000 specimens, many of them belonging to Spanish fauna. In the GBIF there are 200,385 individuals with taxonomic information, 171,028 individuals with information about the Country of the data sample and 168,463 individual with information about the specific locality of the data sample. The data base of the collection is under review and therefore, we expect to add more information in the future. NEOTROPICMYXO. A DATABASE OF MYXOMYCETES FROM THE NEOTROPICS
- Lado, Carlos
This is a database of the Myxomycetes recorded from the Neotropical region. This large biogeographical region includes the continent of America, from Mexico to Tierra del Fuego (Argentina and Chile). The region has the greatest biodiversity in the World and includes several biodiversity hotspots. The database NEOTROPICMYXO was developed in 2015 and includes all the species of Myxomycete (Amoebozoa) recorded in the literature as well as the data from herbaria and other recognised collections. The information included, apart from the species name, is the up-to-date nomenclatural status, bibliographic and geographic information, and also substrate data and where the material is located. The database is currently a reference for the MYXOTROPIC Project.

LISTA NACIONAL (NATIONAL CHECKLIST) DE MYXOMYCETES (CERATIOMYXALES, ECHINOSTELIALES, LICEALES Y TRICHIALES) DE LA PENÍNSULA IBÉRICA
- Pando, Francisco
This dataset contains 127 taxa corresponding to species of Mycetozoa included in the orders Ceratiomyxales, Echinosteliales, Liceales and Trichiales present in the Iberian Peninsula. It is based on the taxonomic and chorological work carried out within the Flora Mycologica Iberica project, which results for this groups were published in :Lado, C. & Pando, F. 1997. Flora Mycologica Iberica, Vol. 2. Myxomycetes, I. Ceratiomyxales, Echinosteliales, Liceales, Trichiales. - Real Jardin Botánico Madrid, Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas. J. Kramer, Madrid, Berlin, StuttgartThis dataset was prepared as one of the deliverables of the GBIF's CESP 20'18 project "Increasing capacities to develop National Species Checklists in the Latin America and the Caribbean Region", to test the set of good practices compiled within the project., This project has been built on the experiences from the GBIF nodes of Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico, Peru and Uruguay, with the associations CyTeD and Andino NET, to conduct a regional project defining consensus procedures for the development of national species checklists. A focus has been placed on achieving compatibility of databases with existing ones. Aiming a for a broad coverage of users, outcomes will be published in Spanish, Portuguese and English. Through a programme to “train the trainers”, knowledge gained from capacity dissemination events can be replicated to national and specific contexts.

Observadores del Mar - Seawatchers is an internet platform aimed at connecting citizens and scientists to investigate together the current state of our seas and oceans. Citizens can participate by contributing with their observations and experience. We wish to understand the effects of global warming, pollution, biodiversity changes, invasions of alien species and overfishing in marine ecosystems. To this end, we collect observations and sightings on the distribution and abundance of marine species, the emergence of rare or invasive marine species or the signs of change in ecosystems (mortality of organisms, amassing of surface and bottom pollution). This platform of projects, linked to ongoing research is coordinated by the Institute of Marine Sciences of Barcelona (ICM-CSIC) and relies on the collaboration among citizens scientists from different national and international centers. The main challenges we have are: (1) to detect global warming impacts in biology and distribution of species; (2) to inform about the appearance and expansion of introduced or invasive species; (3) to inform about the presence of warning species such as jellyfish or pufferfish; (4) to expand the knowledge about biology, habitat and distribution of native species; (5) to report the pollution of coasts and sea bottoms and its impact in marine life and ecosystems Decapod crustaceans (crabs, shrimps, prawns, lobsters, spiny lobsters, hermit crabs,… are a very diverse and still poorly known faunal group, especially so for the wide public. Compared with fish, which are much more evident and easier to watch underwater, crustaceans are much more difficult to obtain reliable information from, since many of them have nocturnal habits, and stay under rocks, buried in the sand or in crevices during most of daytime. Notwithstanding, there is a reasonable number of species that we can be able to see if we watch attentively in the correct habitats, such as crevices or small caves in rocky shores. We aim to obtain data and information on the occurrence not only of the scarce species but also of the common ones. Species that today are common may not be so in a few years time, and inversely, species that today are scarce, or not yet here, may be common tomorrow. Collaboration is necessary and very valuable., Occurrence records, with photograph whenever possible
