FORMAL CONCEPT ANALYSIS FOR TOPIC DETECTION: A CLUSTERING QUALITY EXPERIMENTAL ANALYSIS

RepLab is a competitive evaluation exercise for Online Reputation Management systems organized as an activity of CLEF. RepLab 2013 focused on the task of monitoring the reputation of entities (companies, organizations, celebrities, etc.) on Twitter. The monitoring task for analysts consists of searching the stream of tweets for potential mentions to the entity, filtering those that do refer to the entity, detecting topics (i.e., clustering tweets by subject) and ranking them based on the degree to which they signal reputation alerts (i.e., issues that may have a substantial impact on the reputation of the entity). The RepLab 2013 task is defined, accordingly, as (multilingual) topic detection combined with priority ranking of the topics, as input for reputation monitoring experts. The detection of reputational polarity (does the tweet have negative/positive implications for the reputation of the entity?) is an essential step to assign priority, and was evaluated as a standalone subtask, Application of Formal Concept Analysis (FCA), an exploratory technique for data analysis and organization. In particular, we propose an extension of FCA-based methods for topic detection applied in the literature by applying the stability concept for the topic selection. The hypothesis is that FCA will enable the better organization of the data and stability the better selection of topics based on this data organization, thus better fulfilling the task requirements by improving the quality and accuracy of the topic detection process, FCA.tar.gz (about 3MB) This file contains the FCA implementation as well as the input files for the execution The dataset can be downloaded from the official RepLab webpage: http://nlp.uned.es/replab2013/.

DIFFERENT ROLES OF NRF2 AND NFKB IN THE ANTIOXIDANT IMBALANCE PRODUCED BY ESCULETIN OR QUERCETIN ON NB4 LEUKEMIA CELLS.

Measurement of metabolic activity (MTT assay), cell cycle arrest, reactive oxygen species, expression of Nrf2 and NFkB proteins in nucleus and cytosol, expression of superoxide dismutase and lipooxygenase, activity of superoxide dismutase, phosphorilation of Jnk and p38 proteins, all in NB4 leukemia cell line subjected to treatments with esculetin or quercetin.

Esculetin and quercetin are compounds that could change the balance of redox homeostasis. Treatment of NB4 leukemia cells with quercetin or esculetin affected the distribution of pro-inflammatory NFkB p65 in the nucleus and cytosol. This could suggest formation of inhibitory p50 homodimers possibly related with anti-inflammatory response. Lipoxygenase and superoxide dismutase expression were also affected by esculetin and quercetin. All these data support a relevant differential role for NFkB and Nrf2 in antiinflammatory and redox response when apoptosis was induced by esculetin or quercetin in human leukemia NB4 cells.

Educational Escape Room is an innovative method used in classrooms to motivate students. This article describes a version of Educational Escape Room applied to undergraduate students. Specifically, this work presents an adaptation of the method called Educational Hall Escape, characterized by the resolution of challenges in a game-adapted room in which several student groups compete to finish the activity in the least amount of time. To date, the Educational Hall Escape method applied to the field of business economy has not been reported in the literature. The objective of the study is to analyze the influence of the Educational Hall Escape method on the learning processes and emotions of students during the activity and its impact on their motivation and the reinforcement their competences and knowledge. An experiment was designed in which the class was divided into a control group and an experimental group. To measure the impact of the experience in the students, two tools were used: an exam and the Gamefulquest survey. Despite the fact that the results obtained show that the students perceived the experience as a game, it improved their motivation and increased their proclivity to have an emotional bond with the subject, the academic results remained steady.

DETERMINING THE FREE-CARRIER FRACTION IN 2D PEROVSKITES USING POWER DEPENDENT PHOTOLUMINESCENCE

  • Prins, Ferry

  • Arévalo Rodríguez, Enrique
  • Das, Upasana

A study using power-dependent photoluminescence measurements, which allows for a correction of the excitation density and also enables the direct determination of the free carrier fraction x. We focus on two families of Ruddlesden-Popper perovskites, spanning the full range of free carrier fractions vs excitons. Our approach provides a tool for probing the nature of optically excited states in semiconductors and for investigating spatial variations.

The full dataset consists of dataset:

Photoluminescence Time Resolved Power Dependent Measurements of a family of RP perovskite (n=1,2,3,4,5)

All the data is collected in different flakes of RP perovskites (n=1,2,3,4,5).The data acquisition was done using custom python code and the analysis is performed using custom python code which can be found in GitHub, https://github.com/phond-uam/Power_Dependent_Photoluminescence

Methodology:

For details about sample preparation and methodology consult the related publication.

Perovskite nanocrystal are prepared using two different cations with a hot solution synthesis approach.

The power dependent photoluminescence measurements are taken using the combination of a picoquant diode laser (LDH-DC-375) and TSCPC module (Picoharp 300). After the laser light is filtered using a single mode fiber the light is directed towards a home-built microscope using a Nikon CFI S Plan Fluor (60x, 0.7 NA) objective. The PL is then sent to an avalanche photodiode (MPD) controlled by the TSCPC module.
