SUPPLEMENTAL DATA FOR: FUNCTIONING IN ADULT PATIENTS WITH IDIOPATHIC INFLAMMATORY MYOPATHY: EXPLORING THE ROLE OF ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS USING FOCUS GROUPS
- Armadans Tremolosa, Immaculada
- Guilera Ferré, Georgina
- Heras, Marta Las
- Castrechini Trotta, Ángela
- Selva O'Callaghan, Albert
Raw data from the study “Functioning in adult patients with idiopathic inflammatory myopathy: Exploring the role of environmental factors using focus groups”. The document shows that the most ICF categories cited by the patients were related to products or substances for personal consumption (e110), such as medication and disease-related healthy food issues in the diet, the importance of the relationship with health professionals (e355), including doctors, nurses, psychologists, and physiotherapists, accessibility to health services (e580), technological support (e115), the role of caregivers (e310), and certain problems related with the disability caused by the disease, such as muscle weakness, intolerance to physical activity, and fatigue, with their consequences on mobility. The ICF categories related to environmental factors identified here are of value for clinicians treating patients with these rare diseases, as they raise awareness of the need to reinforce the facilitating role of specific environmental factors and reduce the negative impact of others to improve the patients’ daily functioning.

This dataset contains the information on our recent body of work on wireless magneto-ionics by bipolar electrochemistry approach and all the relevant data files. So far, magneto-ionics has been achieved through direct electrical connections to the actuated material. Here we evidence that an alternative way to reach such control exists in a wireless manner. Induced polarization in the conducting material immersed in the electrolyte, without direct wire contact, promotes wireless bipolar electrochemistry, an alternative pathway to achieve voltage-driven control of magnetism based on the same electrochemical processes involved in direct-contact magneto-ionics. A significant tunability of magnetization is accomplished for cobalt nitride thin films, including transitions between paramagnetic and ferromagnetic states. Such effects can be either volatile or non-volatile depending on the electrochemical cell configuration. These results represent a fundamental breakthrough that may inspire future device designs for applications in bioelectronics, catalysis, neuromorphic computing, or wireless communications.

REPLICATION DATA FOR "LIQUID BIOPSY AFTER RESECTION OF PANCREATIC ADENOCARCINOMA AND ITS RELATION TO ONCOLOGICAL OUTCOMES. SYSTEMATIC REVIEW AND META-ANALYSIS"
- Pando, Elizabeth
- Vidal, Laura
- Blanco, Laia
- Fabregat Franco, Carles
- Castet, Florian
- Sierra, Alexandre
- Macarulla, Teresa
- Balsells, Joaquim
- Charco, Ramón
- Vivancos, Ana
This dataset comprises the articles incorporated in the meta-analysis. In total, 78 articles underwent thorough review, and 67 were disqualified either because they lacked preoperative or postoperative samples or because they contained data from patients with metastatic conditions. Furthermore, one additional study sourced from the references list was integrated into the analysis before quantitative data examination. Ultimately, 12 articles were encompassed in the meta-analysis, encompassing a total of 413 patients diagnosed with potentially resectable pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). The study's inclusion period spanned from 1998 to 2021.
Patients were included in the quantitative analysis in accordance with the intention-to-treat principle. Notably, 17 patients (4.1%) were eventually reclassified as stage IV due to the presence of distant lymph node positivity observed during the analysis of resected specimens, discrepancies in CT scans, or unforeseen surgical findings. A unanimous decision was reached to incorporate these stage IV patients into the meta-analysis in order to mirror a real-world clinical scenario and facilitate an intention-to-treat analysis

REPLICATION DATA FOR PUBLICATION IZADI, P., KAS, A., HAUS, P. AND HARNISCH, F., ON THE STABILITY OF ELECTROCHEMICAL CO2 REDUCTION REACTION TO FORMATE AT INDIUM ELECTRODES AT BIOCOMPATIBLE CONDITIONS
- Izadi, Paniz
- Harnisch, Falk
- Kas, Aykut
- Haus, Philip
This study investigated the potential parameters limiting the stable eCO2RR to formate using In catalyst over 72 h operation. We showed that in order to achieve a stable and efficient eCO2RR, the interrelation between few operational parameters needs to be taken into consideration. In the case studied here being exemplarily for interfacing eCO2RR and bioproduction, a Formate concentration increase in the catholyte and change in conductivity of the catholyte may not directly influence the formate production rate and coulombic efficiency. Yet, they affect the actual cathodic potentials, leading to fluctuations in formate production rate (maximum ± 0.03 mmol h−1 cm−2 at stable operation at each condition) and coulombic efficiency (max. ± 40% at stable operation at each condition) after reaching the certain value of formate concentration and conductivity in the catholyte (ca. 70 mM and 21 mS cm−1, respectively). Therefore, the concentration should be kept below such a value which can be easily achieved by process steering allowing balancing the rates of eCO2RR and microbial consumption. In addition, the stability of the In catalyst needs to be improved in order to operate long-term stable eCO2RR. Confirmed by the increase observed in In corrosion rate at more negative potentials and change in the pH values, H2 generation at the surface could lead to the damage at the surface of the electrode coated by the electrocatalyst. Therefore, the durability of the electrode can be closely related to the electrode potential. One can consider less negative potentials to decrease the catalyst leaching but to increase the HER. However, that would consequently decrease formate production rate from eCO2RR. Alternatively, more C1-compound selective electrodes can be explored and used.

Plasmodium vivax malaria is a neglected disease, particularly during pregnancy. Severe vivax malaria is associated with inflammatory responses but in pregnancy immune alterations make it uncertain as to what cytokine signatures predominate, and how the type and quantity of blood immune mediators influence delivery outcomes. We measured the plasma concentrations of a set of thirty-one biomarkers, comprising cytokines, chemokines and growth factors, in 987 plasma samples from a cohort of 572 pregnant women from five malaria-endemic tropical countries and related these concentrations to delivery outcomes (birth weight and hemoglobin levels) and malaria infection. Samples were collected at recruitment (first antenatal visit) and delivery (periphery, cord and placenta), allowing a longitudinal analysis. At recruitment, we found that P. vivax–infected pregnant women had higher plasma concentrations of proinflammatory (IL-6, IL-1β, CCL4, CCL2, CXCL10) and TH1-related cytokines (mainly IL-12) than uninfected women. This biomarker signature was essentially lost at delivery and was not associated with birth weight nor hemoglobin levels. Antiinflammatory cytokines (IL-10) were positively associated with infection and poor delivery outcomes. CCL11 was the only biomarker to show a negative association with P. vivax infection and its concentration at recruitment was positively associated with hemoglobin levels at delivery. Birth weight was negatively associated with peripheral IL-4 levels at delivery. Our multi-biomarker multicenter study is the first comprehensive one to characterize the immunological signature of P. vivax infection in pregnancy thus far. In conclusion, data show that while TH1 and pro-inflammatory responses are dominant during P. vivax infection in pregnancy, antiinflammatory cytokines may compensate excessive inflammation avoiding poor delivery outcomes, and skewness toward a TH2 response may trigger worse delivery outcomes. CCL11, a chemokine largely neglected in the field of malaria, emerges as an important marker of exposure or mediator in this condition.
