SiC photodiode performance under 20 keV X-rays irradiation in the XALOC beam line at ALBA Synchrotron is presented. Over-responses in the range of 12-19% linked to the interaction of the radiation with the metallic layers are observed. A good uniformity response as well as a good linearity at 0V bias is reported, even in the under-depleted devices. This work exemplifies the good performance of SiC detectors fabricated at IMB-CNM specifically for low-energy X ray characterization at high X-ray intensities., This work has been funded by the IMB-CNM (CSIC) internal TRIGGER project PlACeD and the laCaixa Health foundation DosiFLASH project HR23-00718. These experiments were performed at BL13-XALOC beamline at ALBA Synchrotron with the collaboration of ALBA staff. The beam time was funded by ALBA with proposal ID 2024028103.

[Description of methods used for collection/generation of data] Tribology tests_data, The files contain raw friction coefficient data during tribology experiments, using a twin disk tribometer., [Methods for processing the data] The data was procesed using data analysis and scientific programming software., The effects of MoS2 and Multi-Wall Carbon Nanotube (MWCNT) additives onto thermal, mechanical and tribological properties of the vinyl ester polymer-matrix composites were systematically studied. Monocomponent and mixed additive compositions with concentrations ranged between 0 and 3 wt. % showed complex behaviours. Under oxidative environment, MoS2 suppressed high-temperature matrix decomposition process at 513 ºC, while MWCNTs suppressed the matrix decomposition process at 524 ºC. The samples with low MWCNT/MoS2 ratios showed two distinct glass transitions, while the samples with high MWCNT/MoS2 ratios presented a single transition around 100-120 °C. Tribological behaviour of steel-steel roiling-sliding simulating wheel-rail contact in presence of the composites significantly varied depending on the additives’ composition. The mixed-component composites yielded coefficient of traction close to the desired range 0.25-0.35. Wear of the “wheel” disk was mainly controlled by the composite capacity to form secondary transfer film by aggregation and compaction of wear debris. Wear of the “rail” disk likely depended on the capacity of the transfer layer on the “wheel” disk to release MoS2 and transfer it onto the “rail” disk., This work was supported by the Spanish National Research Council (projects COOPB20363, COOPA20495) Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities of Spain (projects EIN2019-102889,PID2019-111063RB-I00

GENOTYPES FOR THE SPANISH AUTOCHTHONOUS BEEF CATTLE POPULATIONS

A total of 171 triplets (sire/dam/offspring) were collected from seven Spanish beef cattle populations (Asturiana de los Valles, n=25; Avileña-Negra Ibérica; Bruna dels Pirineus, n=25; Morucha, n=25; Pirenaica, n=24; Retinta, n=24; Rubia Gallega, n=24). The parents were chosen by minimizing the genealogical coancestry among them with the aim of capturing the existing variability within the populations.
Individuals were genotyped using the BovineHD 777K BeadChip (Illumina Inc., USA), The SNPs present in the data file belonged to the autosomal chromosomes and those that were in repeated positions were excluded. Additional requirements were Mendelian error rates below 0.05 and call rates over 95% for both, individuals and SNPs. The quality control was made using the PLINK 1.0.7 software. Phasing was performed with BEAGLE with the "trio" option., Peer reviewed

[Description of methods used for collection/generation of data] We experimentally evaluated how the survival rate, body mass, body composition (i.e. protein, lipid, glucose, glycogen), and immunocompetence (i.e. number of hemocytes) of Culex pipiens females were affected by sugar concentration in their diet. To do so, we reared field-captured larvae in the laboratory and the emerged mosquito females were randomly assigned to different concentrations of sucrose offered ad-libitum (mass/volume%: 0,5%, 1%, 2%, 4%, 8%, 16%). Mosquitoes were analyzed at three different ages, 7-, 14-, and 21- days post-emergence (dpe)., There are three Excell sheets, one for survival, one for nutrition and one for hemocytes. They are named according to this characteristics (survival, nutrition and hemocytes), Peer reviewed

ARCELLINIDA TESTATE AMOEBAE IN ENVIRONMENTAL DNA-BASED BIOINDICATION, FROM TAXONOMY FREE TO HAPLOTYPIC LEVEL
- González-Miguéns, Rubén
Bioindication, evaluating biological responses to environmental disturbances, is crucial for assessing ecological status. While historical bioindication relied on macroscopic organisms, the introduction of environmental DNA (eDNA) techniques allows the application of protist without the necessity of morphological identification. In this study we propose a novel bioindication methodology utilizing Arcellinida, a group of top predators among protists, as bioindicators of freshwater ecosystems. In that purpose, we firstly characterized the Arcellinida diversity over one year at three different points of the Lake Sanabria, an ancient glacier lake known to be subjected to anthropogenic disturbances. We compared this diversity with an undisturbed control site. Secondly, we characterized the Arcellinida diversity in other ecosystems to generate the ecological background to test the connectivity between them. Results indicate limited connectivity between the different ecosystems, and an edge effect between terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems. Disturbed freshwater ecosystems exhibited reduced Arcellinida diversity at both specific and infraspecific levels, providing valuable insights into recent disturbances. Arcellinida-based bioindication provides a sensitive, accurate and easy to interpret protocol for monitoring disturbances in freshwater ecosystems. It represents a valuable tool for environmental assessments and conservation strategies., Peer reviewed
