ACOUSTIC MEASUREMENTS AT SANT ANDREU DE PUJOL, PALLARS SOBIRÀ, CATALONIA

  • Đorđević, Zorana
The dataset includes sound level meter readings and audio files recorded at two receiver points (R1 and R2) at the site Sant Andreu de Pujol (Pallars Sobirà, Catalonia). We used a Cesva SC202 sound level meter and a Zoom H4n recorder. The data were collected as part of the MSCA postdoctoral project "Aural Culture: Decoding the Sacred Soundscapes of Medieval Europe" (acronym: CULT-AURAL, Grant Agreement ID: 101064323). Fieldwork was conducted in December 2024 by Zorana Dordevic, who made the measurements, and Xavier Costa-Badia.

REPLICATION DATA FOR: SHAPING ADOLESCENTS’ GENDER STEREOTYPES OF SCIENTISTS THROUGH ROLE MODELS DEVELOPING COMMUNAL GOALS

  • Sainz, Milagros
  • López, Beatriz Soledad
This research consists of two studies conducted after manipulating two basic characteristics of the person working in science (their gender and the opportunity to develop communal tasks). The first study analyzes secondary students’ expression of stereotypes about people working in science and their attitudes towards scientists. The second study examines the effect this manipulation has on students’ positivity towards science careers and the enactment of communal goals. The results suggest the potential role that communal affordances play in the enactment of positive attitudes towards people working in science.

  • Escofet Martin, David
  • Ros Morente, Agnès
  • Torrelles Nadal, Cristina

REPLICATION DATA FOR "EXPERIENCED CLIMATE CHANGE IMPACTS HELP EXPLAIN SUBJECTIVE WELL-BEING. EVIDENCE FROM 14 NATURE-DEPENDENT COMMUNITIES"

  • Reyes-García, Victoria
This dataset was created in order to document the analysis of the manuscrit "Experienced climate change impacts help explain subjective well-being. Evidence from 14 nature-dependent communities". Climate change profoundly affects well-being in complex and interconnected ways. However, the relationship between climate change and well-being has been explored in only a handful of settings, most of which are industrialized. Here, we investigate the association between perceived climate change impacts, their severity, and subjective well-being, measured as life satisfaction. Using cross-culturally comparable first-hand reports from 2,488 participants across 14 nature-dependent communities, we find a negative association between site-aggregated life satisfaction and three metrics of climate change: perceptions of local impacts, reported severity, and an instrumental index. Within sites, individual-level associations between perceived severity of climate change impacts and life satisfaction are weak or absent, which could indicate that the between-site correlation reflects the overall exposure and vulnerability of each site to climate change. Further analysis suggests that site-level characteristics play a crucial role in shaping these patterns. Our findings offer a nuanced understanding of how climate change impacts relate to well-being, emphasize the multi-dimensional character of climate change impacts and underscoring the importance of local context in shaping these relationships.

This is an interventional study (quasi-experimental) without a control group, conducted in a hospital surgical unit to improve the waste segregation process during surgical procedures. The study was carried out between May 2023 and 2024 in a Catalan University Hospital with 380 beds, a surgical unit with 16 operating rooms, 320 professionals, and a total of 27,990 surgical procedures performed in 2023. The study was structured into three phases: Phase 1: Baseline assessment of professionals' perceptions of recycling and measurement of plastic and cardboard recycling levels during surgical procedures. Phase 2: A motivational intervention was conducted for all surgical unit professionals, and the segregation process was progressively implemented. Phase 3: Full implementation of the recycling circuit. The interventional study is based on the socio-ecological model (Sallis JF et al., 2006) (10.1146/annurev.publhealth.27.021405.102100). The independent variable in this study is the multilevel program aimed at improving segregation during the surgical process. Data collection was conducted according to each phase of the study using questionnaires addressed to professionals, checklists during the perioperative process, and measurements of the volume of material segregation by type (plastic, paper, etc.). The carbon footprint and waste segregation volume were calculated throughout all phases. Before implementing the motivational intervention for professionals, an ad hoc questionnaire was administered to assess their motivation for waste segregation in the workplace. The questionnaire comprised seven questions, with professional category as the only sociodemographic data collected. The remaining questions used a numerical rating scale from 0 to 10 to evaluate respondents' level of concern and engagement in recycling in their personal lives, as well as their interest in adopting recycling practices in their work environment. Follow-up questionnaires were administered throughout the implementation process to gather perceptions regarding the segregation process. The final questionnaire also assessed overall satisfaction with the implemented recycling program and the perceived need for its implementation in other hospitals. To quantify the degree of segregation, the number of bags, kilograms per day, and kilograms per week were calculated for each type of material.
