Derecho para tod@s - UAL es un Boletín jurídico mensual, cuyo objetivo es divulgar temas jurídicos que puedan ser de interés para la comunidad universitaria y contribuir a la formación integral de los estudiantes de la UAL.

This dataset contains samples coming from a hydraulic block from a biomedical equipment. The block mounts 3 Thomas SR10/30 DC standard perisltaltic pumps, which were filled with distilled water. Only one pump was running at the same time during these recordings, always at maximum constant speed. The cassettes of the pumps were changed before each recording. We used cassettes with 2 different levels of degradation: NEW (unused) and OLD (lifetime already expired). We defined 3 different classes: Class 1 is STOP (no pump running), class 2 is NEW (one pump running with a new cassette), and class 3 is OLD (one pump running with an old cassette). The classified samples were recorded using several sensors: 3 accelerometers, 1 gyroscope, 1 magnetometer and 1 microphone. All data were recorded at the same time at the maximum available frequency using the device "ST SensorTile.box". The raw data has already been processed into sepparate different .csv files (.wav files for audio) using python code., Each sensor has its own folder. The sensor folder name starts with ACC for accelerometer data, GYRO for gyroscope data, MAG for magnetometer data or MIC for microphone data. After that, the name of the sensor. At the end, sampling frequency in Hz. For example: ACC_LISDW12_1600Hz folder contains data for the accelerometer named LISDW12 at a sampling rate of 1600Hz. Each sensor folder contains 17 .csv files except for the microphone folder, which contains 17 .wav files. Each file is a unique sample tagged with one class (1, 2 or 3). At the end of each filename this class is also included. For example, 0008_03.csv is the sample number 8, which corresponds to class 3 tagged data.

Objective: To assess the impact of a telemedicine visit using the platform Diabetic compared with a face-to-face visit on clinical outcomes, patients' health-related quality of life (HRQoL), and physicians' satisfaction in patients with type 1 diabetes. Research design and methods: PLATEDIAN (Telemedicine on Metabolic Control in Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus Andalusian Patients) (NCT03332472) was a multicenter, randomized, 6-month follow-up, open-label, parallel-group controlled study performed in patients with type 1 diabetes with suboptimal metabolic control (HbA1c <8% [<64 mmol/mol]), treated with multiple daily injections. A total of 388 patients were assessed for eligibility; 379 of them were randomized 1:1 to three face-to-face visits (control cohort [CC]) (n = 167) or the replacement of an intermediate face-to-face visit by a telemedicine visit using Diabetic (intervention cohort [IC]) (n = 163). The primary efficacy end point was the mean change of HbA1c levels from baseline to month 6. Other efficacy and safety end points were mean blood glucose, glucose variability, episodes of hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia, patient-reported outcomes, and physicians' satisfaction. Results: At month 6, the mean change in HbA1c levels was -0.04 ± 0.5% (-0.5 ± 5.8 mmol/mol) in the CC and 0.01 ± 0.6% (0.1 ± 6.0 mmol/mol) in the IC (P = 0.4941). The number of patients who achieved HbA1c <7% (<53 mmol/mol) was 73 and 78 in the CC and IC, respectively. Significant differences were not found regarding safety end points at 6 months. Changes in HRQoL between the first visit and final visit did not differ between cohorts, and, regarding fear of hypoglycemia (FH-15 score ≥28), statistically significant differences observed at baseline remained unchanged at 6 months (P < 0.05). The tryptophan-kynurenine pathway is linked to inflammation. We hypothesize that metabolites implicated in this pathway may be associated with the risk of heart failure (HF) or atrial fibrillation (AF) in a population at high risk of cardiovascular disease. We aimed to prospectively analyze the associations of kynurenine-related metabolites with the risk of HF and AF and to analyze a potential effect modification by the randomized interventions of the PREDIMED (Prevención con Dieta Mediterránea) trial with Mediterranean diet (MedDiet). Two case-control studies nested within the PREDIMED trial were designed. We selected 324 incident HF cases and 502 incident AF cases individually matched with ≤3 controls. Conditional logistic regression models were fitted. Interactions with the intervention were tested for each of the baseline plasma metabolites measured by LC-tandem MS. Higher baseline kynurenine:tryptophan ratio (OR for 1 SD: 1.20; 95% CI: 1.01, 1.43) and higher levels of kynurenic acid (OR: 1.19; 95% CI: 1.01, 1.40) were associated with HF. Quinolinic acid was associated with AF (OR: 1.15; 95% CI: 1.01, 1.32) and HF (OR: 1.25; 95% CI: 1.04, 1.49). The MedDiet intervention modified the positive associations of kynurenine (Pinteraction = 0.006), kynurenic acid (Pinteraction = 0.008), and quinolinic acid (Pinteraction = 0.033) with HF and the association between kynurenic acid and AF (Pinteraction = 0.02). We found that tryptophan-kynurenine pathway metabolites were prospectively associated with higher HF risk and to a lesser extent with AF risk. Moreover, an effect modification by MedDiet was observed for the association between plasma baseline kynurenine-related metabolites and the risk of HF, showing that the positive association of increased levels of these metabolites and HF was restricted to the control group., Sí
