SUPPLEMENTAL DATA OF: OPEN ACCESS AVAILABILITY OF CATALONIA RESEARCH OUTPUT: CASE ANALYSIS OF THE CERCA CENTRES

  • Rovira i Fernàndez, Anna
  • Abadal, Ernest
  • Urbano, Cristóbal
Sample of 3,730 journal articles published by authors from Catalonia's CERCA research centres between 2011 and 2015 and available on Web of Science (out of a total output of 44,423) identifying how many were available in open access, full-text format. The results revealed that 75,8% of the total (2,828 articles) had at least one version available in open access, but just 52% (1,940 articles) had at least one version available in either journals (whether pure or hybrid open access journals or those with embargo periods) or repositories, a finding that highlights the powerful role played by academic social networks in the sharp increase in open access availability. Of the 2,828 articles for which at least one open access version was found, a total of 9,868 copies were located. With respect to versions, the publisher’s final version, i.e. the type formatted for publication by journal publishers, was found in 75,3% of cases. The number of articles published in open access journals (567) was very close to the number of articles published in hybrid journals or journals with embargo periods (624). Only 40,4% of the articles in the sample were located in repositories, being the subject repositories the heaviest used. Fifty percent of the articles (1,881 publications) were posted on academic social networks, the most popular of which were ResearchGate and Academia. According to thematic areas, all six areas (science, life sciences, medical and health sciences, engineering and architecture and humanities) exceeded 70% of articles in open access.

Anonymous data of two clinical trials. Twenty-six healthy participants were randomized to T20/90mg vs. placebo (n = 12) or RAL/400mg vs. placebo (n = 14) every 12h in two 7-day periods separated by a 4-week washout period. Major end-points were changes in lipid profile (total cholesterol, high-density-lipoprotein (HDL)-cholesterol, low-density-lipoprotein (LDL)-cholesterol, triglycerides), insulin resistance (glucose) and mitochondrial toxicity (mitochondrial DNA content–mtDNA–in peripheral blood mononuclear cells). Renal and hepatic toxicity (creatinine, alanine transaminase (AST), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), bilirubin and total plasma proteins) and overall safety were also analysed. Effect of period, treatment, and basal measures were evaluated for each end-point.

DATASET FOR “SILVER-INDUCED Γ→Ε MARTENSITIC TRANSFORMATION IN FEMN ALLOYS: AN EXPERIMENTAL AND COMPUTATIONAL STUDY”

This dataset contains the information on our recent body of work on Ag-induced transformation of FeMn alloys and all the relevant data files. In this work, attempt to explain the austenite-martensite phase transformation occurring in FeMn alloys upon additions of Ag. In the study, a combined experimental and theoretical approach are applied to reveal the mechanism behind the phase transformation. While equiatomic FeMn and FeMn-1Ag alloys possess a fully austenitic structure, a change in the crystallographic structure is observed upon addition of 3 and 5 wt% of Ag, where a mixture of γ austenite and ε martensite phases is observed. Compression tests reveal that such structural transition causes an increase of the yield stress. The evolution of microstructure with the Ag content can be understood from theoretical calculations which show that Ag atoms prefer the intrinsic stacking fault (ISF) sites, revealing lower energy for the ε atomic plane sequence. This causes local depletion of the electronic charge, therefore weakening the interatomic bonds at the ISF plane and facilitating the phase transition. In addition, the total energy difference between the γ and ε phases decreases upon Ag addition. This enables the coexistence of both phases in the sample with 5 wt% Ag. Both experimental and theoretical data agree that the magnetization value gradually increases upon Ag addition. This is due to the local stress that is introduced by Ag atoms, which expand the Ag-Fe and Ag-Mn first neighbour interatomic bonds compared to FeMn. This stress results in electronic charge transfer that locally alters the Fe and Mn atomic magnetic moments.

This data set will include three sources of data:

1) Data that records both the web collection of 60 platform economy cases around Europe and the results of 20 interviews to platform managers and co-op workers around Europe about their organisations business models based on Multidisciplinary Balance of Platform Economy framework. The selected platforms are related to four working areas: networked hospitality, taxi services, urban food delivery and domestic services. Data is presented in two files: 01_PLATFORM_ECONOMY_CODEBOOK.ods which includes the total amount of indicators, answer options, data source used and 02_PLATFORM_ECONOMY_BBDD_ANALYSIS.ods which includes the results for each indicator are presented in anonymised way.

2) Data that frames the role of cooperatives as a potential alternative business model for the platform economy. It contains 11 semi-structured interviews to stakeholders engaged with platform cooperatives (Katuma, Smart and Fairbnb) about limits and strengths of economic performance in terms of growth, working conditions and redistribution of gains. The data is presented in three files: 03_Semi-structured interview script.txt which includes the script used by the semi-structured interviews, 04_Profiles_interviewed.rtf which contains the type of profiles interviewed and, 05_Interviews_transcriptions.txt which includes 11 out of the 12 semi-structured interviews to Katuma, Smart and Fairbnb stakeholders since one participant declined to be recorded.

3) Data from the testing of the PLUS project “Charter of Digital Work Rights” presented in the deliverable “D5.1 Charter of Digital Worker Rights”. The Charter was tested by the involved cooperatives (Katuma, Smart and FairBnb). The data is presented in four files: 06_Surveys_script.odt which includes the questionnaire, 07_survey_results_Katuma_Catalan.cvs, 08_survey_results_Fairbnb_English.cvs and 09_survey_results_Smart_French.cvs which contains the results of the surveys.

This dataset has been the base for the testing of “Charter on Digital Worker Rights” performed in the frame of PLUS project (supported by European Union Horizon 2020 Programme under the grant agreement number 822638) through a survey, unstructured and co-creation sessions with the three project pilots: Katuma, Smart and Fairbnb.

SUPPLEMENTAL DATA FOR: FUNCTIONING IN ADULT PATIENTS WITH IDIOPATHIC INFLAMMATORY MYOPATHY: EXPLORING THE ROLE OF ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS USING FOCUS GROUPS

  • Armadans Tremolosa, Immaculada
  • Guilera Ferré, Georgina
  • Heras, Marta Las
  • Castrechini Trotta, Ángela
  • Selva O'Callaghan, Albert
Raw data from the study “Functioning in adult patients with idiopathic inflammatory myopathy: Exploring the role of environmental factors using focus groups”. The document shows that the most ICF categories cited by the patients were related to products or substances for personal consumption (e110), such as medication and disease-related healthy food issues in the diet, the importance of the relationship with health professionals (e355), including doctors, nurses, psychologists, and physiotherapists, accessibility to health services (e580), technological support (e115), the role of caregivers (e310), and certain problems related with the disability caused by the disease, such as muscle weakness, intolerance to physical activity, and fatigue, with their consequences on mobility. The ICF categories related to environmental factors identified here are of value for clinicians treating patients with these rare diseases, as they raise awareness of the need to reinforce the facilitating role of specific environmental factors and reduce the negative impact of others to improve the patients’ daily functioning.
