In this work, a state-of-the-art bed-side monitor combining time-domain near infrared spectroscopy, diffuse correlation spectroscopy, a pulse oximeter, and an automatized tourniquet was utilized. An automatized vascular occlusion test was used to evaluate peripheral endothelial, microvascular, and metabolic function in a subject admitted to the intensive care (ICU). The data used in this study are read from binary files produced by the platform. These binary files follow a pre-determined format, allowing them to be easily read and processed using various platforms such as MATLAB, Python, and R. The data processing involves then importing the data from these files, followed by appropriate preprocessing steps to ensure appropriate data quality of the displayed data. Preprocessing involves several key steps to prepare the data for analysis. First, movement artifacts are removed. Next, data alignment is performed to synchronize time-series data. We utilize the real time data extracted from the binary data to extract relevant features: simple linear fitting and integration techniques are used to retrieve the deoxygenation and reoxygenation rates during the VOT, along with the area under the curves for tissue oxygenation and blood flow, respectively.

In this work, a state-of-the-art bed-side monitor combining time-domain near infrared spectroscopy and diffuse correlation spectroscopy to measure hemoglobin and blood flow oscillations in the skeletal muscle microvasculature. We focused on very low-frequency and low-frequency oscillations (frequencies below 0.145 Hz), which are associated with myogenic, neurogenic, and endothelial activities. The power spectral density of blood flow and hemoglobin concentration was measured in four muscles (thenar eminence, plantar fascia, sternocleidomastoid, and forearm) of 14 healthy volunteers by Politecnico di Milano. Additionally, we compared the PSDs measured in the thenar eminence of healthy subjects to those measured in a septic patient in the intensive care unit. Next, data alignment is performed to synchronize time-series data and to perform power spectral density calculation.

CATALAN CROP MAPS: MONITORING AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTION AND IRRIGATION PRACTICES OF CATALONIA

  • Pàmies Sans, Magí
  • Bellvert, Joaquim
  • Minuesa, César
  • Casadesus, Jaume
  • Gené-Mola, Jordi
This repository contains crop type maps of Catalan agricultural land from 2015 to 2023. This dataset was created to monitor Catalonia's agricultural production under the CONCAT LL project. The dataset enables the surveillance of crop type changes and irrigation practices. It can serves as a tool for ensuring food security by identifying trends and informing adaptive strategies in response to evolving climatic and agricultural challenges. The maps are derived from the Agrarian Declaration (DUN), submitted by farmers and published by the Department d'Agricultura, Ramaderia, Pesca i Alimentació de la Generalitat de Catalunya. The raw data has been processed for compatibility with Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Each annual shapefile includes key attributes such as crop type, irrigation status (irrigated or rainfed), and the irrigation system used (available from 2021 onwards). The shapefiles are provided with necessary associated files (.shp, .shx, .dbf, .prj) and use the EPSG:32631 coordinate system (WGS 84 / UTM Zone 31N).
