SM1. Study area: The south of the Mallorca channel (Balearic Islands, western Mediterranean, Z1) is characterized by the oligotrophy of its waters but considered as a hotspot of biological activity and biodiversity in the deep-sea (Massutí et al., 2021). In contrast, the Alborán Sea (Z2), unlike the general oligotrophy dominating most of the Mediterranean, holds two anticyclonic gyres of high biological productivity (Bárcena et al., 2004). This area together with the Gulf of Cádiz (Z3) is considered a transition zone between the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea, with water-mass exchange through the Strait of Gibraltar. This region couples the convergence of critical water masses regarding the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation with a semi-permanent upwelling regime, itself connected to the larger dynamic cells off northwest Africa (Penaud et al., 2016). The area off Lisbon (Portugal, Z4) is characterized by a coastal upwelling, intensified during the summer when upwelled waters occupy the surface layers over the whole western shelf and part of the upper slope off Portugal (Fiuza, 1983). This scenario is also found in the Galician coast (Z5), showing upwelling favorable conditions during spring-summer (Villegas-Ríos et al., 2011). HIGH-RESOLUTION VIBROTACTILE SPATIAL ACUITY DATASET FOR LARGE-AREA BODY SITES (V2.0) [DATASET]
- Stein, Max vom
- Wolf, Kai-Dietrich
- Hoppe, Maximilian
- Rieger, Niclas
This xarray dataset ('mvomstein_ds_vibrotactile_spatial_acuity.nc') contains high-resolution vibrotactile spatial acuity data collected from 33 participants across five large-area body sites (forearm, abdomen, lower back near-spine area (NSA), lower back peripheral-spine area (PSA), and thigh). The data were obtained using a fully automated experimental setup that employs Bayesian adaptive parameter estimation to generate continuous psychometric functions. The dataset supports the findings of the study "Data-driven design guide for vibrotactile display layouts by continuous mapping", which is published at Scientific Reports (Nature Research).
Additionally, the supplementary files ('mvomstein_[...].xlsx') provide statistical analyses for the figures presented in the manuscript, including detailed results for comparisons across body sites, anisotropy effects, and regional sensitivity gradients, This work contributes to the Institut de Ciències del Mar "Severo Ochoa Centre of Excellence" accreditation CEX2024-001494-S funded by AEI 10.13039/501100011033 of the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation, Peer reviewed

The repository contains the comprehensive data outputs and R code for the study "Six decades of losses and gains in alpha diversity of European plant communities".
This is a copy of the main GitHub repository (https://github.com/gmidolo/interpolated_S_change). Here, we provide large-size files (e.g., model output and predictions) necessary for full reproducibility., We interpolated spatiotemporal changes in vascular plant species richness using a new method based on machine learning that does not require temporal replication at sites. Using 698,692 one-time survey vegetation plots from the European Vegetation Archive, we estimated trends in vascular plant alpha diversity across Europe and validated our approach against 22,852 independent time series from ReSurveyEurope., Peer reviewed

This dataset collects 1,433 bibliographic references related to Spanish architecture during the Franco's dictatorship (1939-1975). The research was focused on news of Spanish Architecture abroad, including academic journals, architectural press, conference proceedings, books, book chapters, magazines and newspapers, but it excludes the Spanish media. All references were tagged including names of architects, buildings, types of buildings and cities. The database is delivered in three file formats (BibTeX, RIS and Zotero RDF), which are compatible with several reference managers as Zotero, Mendeley, EndNote or RefWorks. This dataset was produced by the R&D project “Spanish architecture in international communication media: Publications, exhibitions, congresses (First part: 1940-1975)”.
Three ways were used to find the news: Firstly, systematic research was done using architectural databases as Avery Index to Architectural Periodicals, JSTOR or ProQuest Periodicals Index Online; secondly, the most influential architectural magazines were revised in paper (The Architectural Review, Architectural Forum, Casabella continuità, Domus or L’Architecture d’Aujourd’hui); and thirdly, some authors and works were studied following bibliographical references published in their monographs.

Measurements of the water surface elevation were taken close to the wavemaker, along the sloping foreshore and at the dike toe location by resistance type wave gauges. The overtopping flow properties thickness and velocity were measured by ultra-sonic distance sensors and high-speed cameras. Due to its large storage size, the whole set of data is provided on request., The experimental data refer to physical model tests carried out in 2019 from May to December at the wave flume CIEMito of the Maritime Engineering Laboratory (LIM) of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya – BarcelonaTech (UPC). The experiments aimed at characterizing the flow characteristics associated to the maximum individual overtopping volumes, due to specific storm events with different return periods. Specifically, the experiments focused on the measurements of overtopping volumes and discharges, in order to find the relation between these parameters with the corresponding overtopping flow velocities and overtopping flow depth, when the maximum overtopping event occurs on a dike during a sea state. A model geometry comprised of a sloping beach, a sloping dike and promenade was built into the CIEMito flume.
