[Description of methods used for collection/generation of data] We deployed 12 trail cameras in Montaña Palentina (Acorn LTL5310 (Shenzhen, China) =9; Bushnell Trophy Cam HD Black Led (Kansas, USA) = 3) and 12 in Alto Sil (Acorn LTL5310 (Shenzhen, China) =9; Bushnell Trophy Cam HD Black Led (Kansas, USA) = 2, and Browning Dark OPS (Herstal, Belgium) = 1), between July and September 2023 (ca. 60 days per camera) aiming at detecting European wildcats.
Inside each location, cameras were distributed within an area of roughly 2000 Has at distances of ca. 1500 m from each other, as this procedure is reliable to estimate European wildcat densities (Gil-Sánchez et al., 2015). Cameras were placed 30-50 cm above ground pointing perpendicularly at paths naturally used by wild animals and from which they were 2-3 m away. An open Eppendorf tube filled with Iberian lynx (Lynx pardinus) urine was buried in front of each camera, aiming at causing European wildcats to stop in front of the camera to optimize identification of individuals based on pelage patterns. Cameras were checked ca. every 20 days to download pictures and replace the batteries and urine (i.e. 2 reviews after deployment and finally camera retrieval). All cameras were programmed to take a burst of three pictures per trigger. Sensitivity was set to low to minimize the excess of triggers caused by sun glares or moving branches. Cameras used natural and infrared light during day and night triggers respectively.
The study was undertaken with the correspondent permissions of the regional government of Castilla y León (Expte: AUES/CYL/008/2022)., [Methods for processing the data] Pictures were sorted following the methodology of R package CamtrapR (Niedballa et al. 2016) in order to extract metadata (date and time of the picture). Humans and birds were not included., [EN] This dataset provides the set of images obtained during of a mammalian survey campaign using trail cameras conducted between July and September 2023 (1495 trap-nights) simultaneously in Montaña Palentina Natural Park (Palencia, Spain) and Alto Sil (León, Spain). This study was funded by a contract of collaboration between Fundación Reina Sofia and CSIC, the MICINN through the European Regional Development Fund [SUMHAL, LIFEWATCH-2019-09-CSIC-04, POPE 2014-2020], and Land Rover España., 24 main folders: CAM1MP, CAM1OC, CAM2MP, CAM2OC, CAM3MP, CAM3OC, CAM4MP, CAM4OC, CAM5MP, CAM5OC, CAM6MP, CAM6OC, CAM7MP, CAM7OC, CAM8MP, CAM8OC, CAM9MP, CAM9OC, CAM10MP, CAM10OC, CAM11MP, CAM11OC, CAM12MP, CAM12OC, Peer reviewed

RADMED-ESMARES-0521 CRUISE, RV GARCÍA DEL CID
- Serra-Tur, Mariano
- CSIC - Unidad de Tecnología Marina (UTM)
Oceanographic data acquired during the RADMED-ESMARES-0521 Cruise (29GD20210514) on board the Research Vessel García del Cid in 2021, The general objective of the RADMED-ESMARES project is the multidisciplinary monitoring of the shelf and continental slope waters of the Spanish Mediterranean, including both the peninsular coast and the Balearic Islands. The area to be covered is very wide, so in order to optimize the available means, 17 sections are carried out covering the shelf and slope at strategic points of the coast, as well as others in the area of the channels of the Balearic Islands and the Gulf of Valencia where the transports through these determine to a great extent the regional hydrodynamics and affect the general circulation of the MEDOC. The variables to be monitored are physical, chemical and biological variables, aiming to study the hydrographic conditions, planktonic communities, seasonal cycles of these variables and their interannual variability. This monitoring allows us to implement our data banks, generate time series, establish ocean climatologies, study oscillations, trends, anomalies and their relationship with global warming and climate change

MIAU-DCM CRUISE, RV GARCÍA DEL CID
- Gasol, Josep M.
- CSIC - Unidad de Tecnología Marina (UTM)
Oceanographic data acquired during the MIAU-DCM Cruise (29GD20210601) on board the Research Vessel García del Cid in 2021, The MIAU-DCM campaign will study the biological characteristics of the deep chlorophyll maximum in the Northwest Mediterranean. To do this, the first 150-200 meters of the water column will be sampled with CTD along a transect between the towns of Blanes and a point near Cape Formentor, and from the continental shelf (depth 40-50 meters). Once the depth of the DCM has been defined, and its variability along the transect, the stations in which biological sampling will be carried out will be defined, which will consist of taking samples from approximately 100 m and the surface. In addition, station D (in the middle of the basin) will be characterized up to 2500 meters

- Simó, Rafel
- CSIC - Unidad de Tecnología Marina (UTM)
Oceanographic data acquired during the SUMMIT Cruise (29GD20210610) on board the Research Vessel García del Cid in 2021, The SUMMIT campaign consists of comparing three stations in the Catalan-Balearic Sea: station D in deep waters in the middle of the basin, on the way to the Menorca Canal, where shallow CTD sets will be made (200 m); station E in deep waters but somewhat more productive to the NE, where the same CTD sets will be made; and station S in platform waters near Blanes, with similar routines. Most of the tasks will consist of experiments on deck, especially in incubation tanks bathed with surface water
