Pt(II)-BODIPY complexes combine the chemotherapeutic activity of Pt(II) with the photocytotoxicity of BODIPYs. Additional conjugation with targeting ligands can boost the uptake by cancer cells that overexpress the corresponding receptors. We describe two Pt(II) triangles, 1 and 2, built with pyridyl BODIPYs functionalized with glucose (3) or triethylene glycol methyl ether (4), respectively. Both 1 and 2 showed higher singlet oxygen quantum yields than 3 and 4, due to the enhanced singlet-to-triplet intersystem crossing. To evaluate the targeting effect of the glycosylated derivative, in vitro experiments were performed using glucose transporter 1 (GLUT1)-positive HT29 and A549 cancer cells, and noncancerous HEK293 cells as control. Both 1 and 2 showed higher cellular uptake than 3 and 4. Specifically, 1 was selective and highly cytotoxic toward HT29 and A549 cells. The synergistic chemo- and photodynamic behavior of the metallacycles was also confirmed. Notably, 1 exhibited superior efficacy toward the cisplatin-resistant R-HepG2 cells.

For a list of GOES X-ray flares of class M5 or higher, this dataset provides the time integral of their associated 1.4 GHz solar radio burst and compares them with the speed, angular width and kinetic energy of the associated CME, if any.

The high potential of using levulinic acid and furfural as platform molecules for the production of oxygenated adducts suitable as precursors for SAF synthesis is studied through the aldol condensation of both molecules. The research is the first-time demonstration of solventless acid-catalysed levulinic acid/furfural aldol condensation. The catalytic performance of a commercial H-USY zeolite and two post-synthetic variations thereof, with different dealumination degree and Zr loading, is analyzed, aiming at tuning the acid catalytic properties. The catalyst with an almost complete Al removal accompanied by the highest Zr wt% (Zr-USY-2) gave the best results in terms of selective conversion of furfural, pointing out to the Lewis acid sites as the main active sites to promote the aldol condensation reaction. An experimental design allowed to identify the optimal LA/FAL molar ratio (9/ 1) and reaction temperature (140 ◦C), while catalyst loading presented a minor significance. The optimization of the reaction parameters allowed to achieve a maximum furfural conversion of 88 %, combined with a yield towards the desired C10 adducts of 55 %. Furthermore, despite the catalytic performance of this material is slightly impaired in consecutive reaction cycles, it can be recovered with a thermal regeneration step, indicating a good reusability.

Description of the project. This project aims to advance the field of forensic ballistics by creating a large, controlled dataset of bullet impact images to train deep learning models for automatic trajectory reconstruction. The dataset was generated in collaboration with the Criminalistics Service of the Spanish Civil Guard to ensure real-world relevance and accuracy. Without this collaboration, this dataset would not have been possible.

Description of the dataset. The dataset consists of 1,800 high-resolution images (in PNG format) of bullet impact holes, captured under controlled laboratory conditions. It covers six drift angles (15°, 30°, 45°, 60°, 75°, 90°) on two common building materials, frequently encountered in forensic investigations: particleboard and drywall. Each angle category contains 300 images, equally split between the two materials (150 images for particleboard and 150 images for drywall).
