This dataset in an Excel file compares the wave of globalization before the outbreak of the Great Recession in 2007 with its alleged historical antecedent before the outbreak of World War One. We describe trends in trade and openness, estimate the gains from trade and investigate the proximate causes of the growth of openness. We argue that the conventional wisdom has to be revised. The first wave of globalization started around 1820 and culminated around 1870. In the next century, trade continued to grow, with the exception of the Great Depression, but openness and gains fluctuated widely. Growth resumed in the early 1970s. By 2007, the world was more open than a century earlier and its inhabitants gained from trade substantially more than their ancestors did. The current wave of globalization, in spite of some similarities with previous trends, has no historical antecedents. This dataset in an Excel file presents our data-base on world trade from 1800 to 1938. We have collected or estimated series of imports and exports, at current and constant (1913) prices and at current and at constant (1913) borders, for 149 polities. After a short review of the available series, we describe the methods for the construction of the data-base. We then deal with the criteria for the inclusion of polities, the representativeness of our series, the main types of sources, the procedures of deflation and, when necessary, of adjustments to 1913 borders. We discuss the details of the estimation of our polity series in Appendix B. Following Feinstein and Thomas (2001), we assess the reliability of our polity estimates. In the last two sections we present our trade series at current and 1913 borders and compare them with other available series. Este conjunto de datos está elaborado a partir de los datos completos constituidos por las 54 entrevistas semidirigidas que integran el corpus PRESEEA-Santander. Estos datos están preestratificados en torno a las variables de sexo, edad y nivel educativo, conforme a las directrices marcadas en el Proyecto para el Estudio Sociolingüístico del Español de España y América (PRESEEA) (Moreno Fernández 2021). El objetivo de este inventario es reunir el léxico extraído de las entrevistas orales, grabadas y transcritas, del núcleo urbano de una ciudad española, como parte del proyecto arriba mencionado. Un inventario léxico constituye un recurso de primer orden para abordar el estudio del vocabulario desde parámetros tanto cualitativos como cuantitativos. Los formularios recogen la información de las piezas incluidas en el proyecto “Imitaciones de piedras en vidrio en época romana y su reinterpretación en época moderna” (PID2020-117299GB-I00); acrónimo LAPISVITRUMQUE. Se trata de tres formularios: uno para vidrios, otro para piedras preciosas y ornamentales y un tercero en el que se relacionan ambos. Los dos primeros incluyen datos relacionados con las propias piezas y el tercero busca comparar vidrios y piedras a través de diversos filtros por conjunto, grupo, clase, color y cualidad. Este formulario está en constante actualización según se va incorporando nueva información, con él se podrá determinar en el caso de los vidrios las formas que imitan en su decoración y a qué tipo de rocas ornamentales o piedras preciosas lo hacen. Y en el caso de las producciones en piedra (instrumenta domestica, adornos personales, etc.) contrastar su aparición o no en vidrio., The forms collect information on the pieces included in the Project “Glass Imitations of Stones in the Roman Period and their Reinterpretation in the Modern Era” (PID2020-117299GB-I00), acronym: LAPISVITRUMQUE, funded by MCIN/ AEI/10.13039/501100011033. There are three forms: one for glass (Tabla_vidrio), another for precious and ornamental stones (Tabla_piedras), and a third that relates the two (Tabla_correlacion). The first two include data related to the pieces themselves and the third seeks to compare glass and stone through various filters by set, group, class, colour and quality. This form is constantly being updated as new information is added. In the case of glass, it can be used to determine the shapes imitated in their decoration and the type of ornamental rocks or precious stones they imitate. Mosquitonet is an open-source pavement distress dataset collected with a low-cost vehicle-mounted system for pavement distress detection through Deep Learning algorithms. There are 7099 images with 13 distress classes, annotated by experts in 12 formats: COCO, PASCAL VOC, YOLO/YOLOv4-v7 PyTorch, TF Object Detection, TFRecord, YOLOv3 Keras, Retinanet Keras and CreateML. The images were gathered by means of a low-cost, high-resolution and fast-acquisition system, Mosquito. The Mosquito system is an unmanned aerial vehicle mounted on a 3D-printed structure that is attached to a vehicle using a suction cup system. The Mosquito system provides images and GPS coordinates per image for speeds up to 120 km/h, where its remote control allows the co-pilot to adjust its parameters in real time for better capture. Annotations for training Deep Learning models were performed manually by pavement experts.

The objective of this work is to study for the first time the combination of electron beam (EB) surface structuring and plasma electrolytic oxidation (PEO) with the aim of providing a multiscale topography and bioactive surface to the Ti6Al4V alloy for biomedical applications. Ca and P-containing coatings were produced via 45 s PEO treatments over multi-scale EB surface topographies. The coatings morphology and composition were characterized by a means of scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS). The effect on the previous EB topography was evaluated by means of a 3D optical profilometry and electrochemical response via potentiodynamic polarization tests. In general, the PEO process, morphology, composition and growth rate of the coatings were almost identical, irrespective of the topography treated. Minimal local differences were found in terms of morphology, and the growth rate were related to specific topographical features. Nevertheless, all the PEO-coated substrates presented essentially the same corrosion resistance. Electrochemical tests revealed a localized crevice corrosion susceptibility of all the bare EB topographies, which was successfully prevented after the PEO treatment.
