The main objective of this research is to determine the morphological structure of the COCOS-NAZCA dorsal, using gravity, magnetism and high resolution bathymetry data, which allows us to check the hotspot-dorsal interaction models and quantify the effect of the variation in the contribution of magma to axial morphology and cortical accretion processes in expansion zones with intermediate velocities. Specifically we intend to determine how the axial morphology varies along the ridge as a function of the distance to the Galapagos hotspot.
