Results show that there is a significant quality improve.

Virtual power plants

El presente proyecto tiene como objetivo determinar posibles beneficios de la agregación de unidades de energía distribuida controlables en Virtual Power Plants (VPP). Se diseñan y se implementan con el programa GAMS® los modelos de programación utilizados para optimizar la operación de una agregación de sistemas VPP en diversos escenarios. En la primera parte del trabajo se expone una introducción teórica de las Virtual Power Plants y sus elementos asociados: unidades de generación distribuida, sistemas de almacenamiento y técnicas de gestión de la demanda, lo que permite destacar los beneficios que produce la agregación. En la segunda parte, se realiza un estudio del estado del arte de la tecnología, exponiendo los casos más destacados respecto a modelos de gestión, con el objetivo de identificar los principales retos y localizar puntos que puedan ser mejorados con la propuesta de un nuevo algoritmo de operación. Finalmente, se desarrollan los algoritmos para determinar la operación óptima de sistemas VPP en varios casos de estudio. Los casos de estudio se diferencian por la política energética aplicada para favorecer la integración de recursos renovables en las redes de distribución: Feed-in Tariff, balance neto y agregación como Virtual Power Plant a gran escala. La comparación de los resultados obtenidos para un escenario particular definido permite destacar cual de las estrategias sería más beneficiosa económicamente desde el punto de vista del prosumidor, y, por tanto, más favorecedora para integrar generación distribuida mediante recursos renovables.

Trois familles infinies de polyèdres convexes à faces pentagonales, planes, congruentes ont été mises en evidence à partir d’un même mode de génération. Un second mode de génération permet de faire correspondre à chaque élément de ces trois familles une famille infinie de nouveaux polyèdres convexes à faces pentagonales, planes, congruentes. Les deux modes opératoires précédents déterminent des polyèdres de ire ou de 2e génération. La possibilité d’une classification de ces polyèdres, à l’aide de caractéristiques particulières aux phenomenes de rotation intervenant dans leur génération à décidé finalement du titre de cette étude., Three infinite families of convex polyhedra with congruent plane pentagonal faces have been created using a single method of generation. A second method of generation permits us to associate with each member of these three families an infinite family of new polyhedra with plane congruent pentagonal faces. These two operations determine the polyhedra of the first and second generation. A conceptual assessment model to identify phase of industrial cluster life cycle in Indonesia

Purpose: The purpose of this research is to develop an assessment model to identify phase of industrial cluster life cycle which comprises definition of the cycle phases, identification of assessment components, and characterization of each phase of cluster life cycle. Design/methodology/approach: This research uses the Delphi method to develop the conceptual model i.e. define phases of cluster life cycle and identify assessment components, and design typology of cluster life cycle. Findings: The proposed indicators used to assess industrial cluster phases are (i) concentration of industry, (ii) market accessibility, (iii) completeness of actors, and (iv) collaboration of stakeholders. Research limitations/implications: This study developed a conceptual model based on expert opinion in Indonesia. Given the limitations of experts in this field in Indonesia, it is necessary to develop advanced research involving more experts and if possible, to involve experts outside Indonesia. Practical implications: This paper provides an assessment conceptual model to identify phase of industrial cluster life cycle. The objective of assessing industrial cluster phases is to evaluate and improve the condition of industrial clusters and as basis for formulation policy interventions in accordance with each phase of cluster life cycle. The final results of this study are the position of each cluster on their life cycle, which reflects the condition of each industrial cluster. On a practical level, the assessment result could be used to improve the competitiveness of industrial sectors and help local and central government to formulate appropriate policy interventions. Originality/value: The paper provides an assessment conceptual model to identify phases of industrial cluster life cycle, which include definition phases, assessment components and typology of each phase of cluster life cycle based on assessment criteria. Generic skills development and learning/assessment process: use of rubrics and students validation

In order to fulfill the European Higher Education Area requirements in the subject “Chemical Engineering Experimentation II” (Chemical Engineering Undergraduate Degree, University of Barcelona), generic skills in teamwork, and both written and oral communication were developed and assessed with the help of rubrics. The methodological usefulness of rubrics in formative/summative assessment was tested by means of student validation. The students’ perceptions of the teaching/learning process were collected, analyzed and compared to the academic marks. The lack of students’ knowledge of the use of rubrics, their lack of commitment and proactivity in the teaching/learning process, and their lack of adaptability and high resistance to the introduction of methodological changes make further work necessary on implementation. Because of the importance of the active participation of the students in the process of teaching/learning, the process of validation should be continued. The teaching experience indicates that rubrics are useful as an assessment tool, but in order to increase their utility as a tool in the process of learning, the future challenge is to modify some aspects of the validation queries and process, Peer Reviewed

Namely, they admit ideal linear secret sharing schemes over every large enough finite field, they can be described by a small number of parameters, and they have useful properties for the applications of secret sharing. Instant release fraction corrosion studies of commercial UO2 BWR spent nuclear fuel

The instant release fraction of a spent nuclear fuel is a matter of concern in the performance assessment of a deep geological repository since it increases the radiological risk. Corrosion studies of two different spent nuclear fuels were performed using bicarbonate water under oxidizing conditions to study their instant release fraction. From each fuel, cladded segments and powder samples obtained at different radial positions were used. The results were normalised using the specific surface area to permit a comparison between fuels and samples. Different radionuclide dissolution patterns were studied in terms of water contact availability and radial distribution in the spent nuclear fuel. The relationship between the results of this work and morphological parameters like the grain size or irradiation parameters such as the burn-up or the linear power density was studied in order to increase the understanding of the instant release fraction formation.
