This dataset gathers discrete measurements of CO2 (pH and alkalinity) and hydrographic variables (salinity, temperature, dissolved oxygen, nitrate, phosphate and silicate) in 10 cruises between 2005 and 2007 in the GIFT Time Series Stations located at the Strait of Gibraltar, pH was measured spectrophotometrically following the Clayton and Byrne (1993). This method consists on adding a dye solution to the seawater sample, so that the ratio between two absorbances at two different wavelengths is proportional to the sample pH. Alkalinity was measured using an automatic potentiometric titrator Titrando 794 Metrohm, with a Metrohm 6.0232.100 combination glass electrode and a Pt-1000 probe for temperature measurement following the methodology given by Pérez and Fraga (1987). Dissolved oxygen was analyzed following the widely applied Winkler method. Data are organized in two independent files: (1) “Burrowing_Owl_Data.xlsx” records all the information of burrowing owls ringed during a monitoring program at Bahia Blanca (Argentina) during the breeding seasons 2005/2006 - 2017/2018. Each line corresponds to one individual. The dataset includes the year of birth and the year of first resight, the natal dispersal distance, the sex, the flight initiation distance (FID) and the breeding productivity both in the first breeding attempt and during the entire life for each individual. We also provide information about the habitat type, the conspecific density and the conspecific productivity both for their natal area and for their first breeding territory.-- (2) “dispnatalsurvival.inp” records the recaptures of each marked burrowing owls during a continuous monitoring program, grouped by sex and habitat. Each line corresponds to one individual. The first 11 columns represent the history of life of the individuals by years (with 0 = no resight and 1= resight). The following 4 columns are the groups (urban males, urban females, rural males, rural females), and the last column is the natal dispersal distance (log transformed) covered by each burrowing owl., Dataset (1) was used to analyze how different individual and social traits influence the natal dispersal distances of burrowing owls and how the variation in the dispersal distances can influence breeding productivity. CARBOGIBOP-II Cruise (29GD20051124) carried out on the Research Vessel García del Cid in 2005, The exchange of both anthropogenic and natural inorganic carbon between the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea through Strait of Gibraltar was studied for a period of two years under the frame of the CARBOOCEAN.t. A comprehensive sampling program was conducted, which was design to collect samples at eight fixed stations located in the Strait in successive cruises periodically distributed through the year in order to ensure a good spatial and temporal coverage. As a result of this monitoring, a time series namely GIFT (GIbraltar Fixed Time series) has been established, allowing the generation of an extensive data set of the carbon system parameters in the area.. At each station, a temperature and salinity profile was obtained with a Seabird 911Plus CTD probe, followed by water sampling using oceanographic Niskin bottles within a rosette. Seawater samples were taken subsequently at five variable depths,which were selected on board according to the information provided by the CTD cast on the instant position of the AMI. This strategy was aimed at collecting samples within the different water bodies present in the Strait, which permitted to acquire a proper vertical profile of the variables studied through the water column. TOMODEC Cruise (29HE20050104) carried out on the Research Vessel Hespérides in 2005, TOMODEC. High resolution seismic tomography of Deception Island (Antarctica), and modelling of seismo-volcanic sources. In January 2005 a multi-parametric international experiment was conducted that encompassed both Deception Island and its surrounding waters. This experiment used as main platforms the Spanish Oceanographic vessel 'Hesperides', the Spanish Scientific Antarctic base 'Gabriel de Castilla' at Deception Island and four temporary camps deployed on the volcanic island. This experiment allowed us to record active seismic signals on a large network of seismic stations that were deployed both on land and on the seafloor.
