Language of the dataset: English, Catalan Abstract: This dataset frames the role of cooperatives as a potential alternative business model for the platform economy. It contains 11 semi-structured interviews to stakeholders engaged with platform cooperatives (Katuma, Smart and Fairbnb) about limits and strengths of economic performance in terms of growth, working conditions and redistribution of gains. The dataset is presented in three files. This research aims to study, both in quantity and quality, the use of sources of information in the production of news about the six main cities of the Girona Province (Girona, Salt, Figueres, Olot, Blanes i Lloret de Mar) in the two most important local newspapers (El Punt i Diari de Girona) during the period between 1996 and 2016. To do so, sources of information used to produce news about city management in the mentioned towns have been identified, quantified and classified. Through a quantitative and qualitative approach to the research we have made an analysis detecting eventual tendencies in the uses of sources of information and its identification. We have observed as well the relationship among several parameters regarding the gathering and transformation of the information provided by the sources, El presente trabajo de investigación estudia de manera cuantitativa y cualitativa el uso de las fuentes periodísticas en la elaboración de información sobre las seis principales ciudades de la Provincia de Girona (Girona, Salt, Figueres, Olot, Blanes i Lloret de Mar) en los periódicos locales (El Punt i Diari de Girona) de más importancia de la zona en el período comprendido entre 1996 y 2016. Para hacerlo se ha identificado, cuantificado y clasificado las fuentes de información utilizadas para elaborar noticias sobre aspectos diversos de la gestión municipal en las ciudades indicadas. A partir de una aproximación cuantitativa y cualitativa hemos analizado las eventuales tendencias en el uso de las fuentes periodísticas, así como su atribución y la relación entre varios parámetros relativas a la recogida y tratamiento de la información que aportan, El present treball d’investigació estudia de manera quantitativa i qualitativa l’ús de les fonts periodístiques en l’elaboració d’informació sobre les sis principals ciutats de la Província de Girona (Girona, Salt, Figueres, Olot, Blanes i Lloret de Mar) en els diaris locals (El Punt i Diari de Girona) de més importància de la demarcació en el període entre 1996 i 2016. Per a fer-ho s’ha identificat, quantificat i classificat les fonts d’informació utilitzades per elaborar notícies sobre aspectes diversos de la gestió municipal a les ciutats esmentades. A partir d’una aproximació quantitativa i qualitativa hem analitzat les eventuals tendències en l’ús de les fonts periodístiques, així com la seva atribució i la relació entre diversos paràmetres relatius a la recollida i tractament de la informació que aporten

This data set will include three sources of data:

1) Data that records both the web collection of 60 platform economy cases around Europe and the results of 20 interviews to platform managers and co-op workers around Europe about their organisations business models based on Multidisciplinary Balance of Platform Economy framework. The selected platforms are related to four working areas: networked hospitality, taxi services, urban food delivery and domestic services. Data is presented in two files: 01_PLATFORM_ECONOMY_CODEBOOK.ods which includes the total amount of indicators, answer options, data source used and 02_PLATFORM_ECONOMY_BBDD_ANALYSIS.ods which includes the results for each indicator are presented in anonymised way.

2) Data that frames the role of cooperatives as a potential alternative business model for the platform economy. It contains 11 semi-structured interviews to stakeholders engaged with platform cooperatives (Katuma, Smart and Fairbnb) about limits and strengths of economic performance in terms of growth, working conditions and redistribution of gains. The data is presented in three files: 03_Semi-structured interview script.txt which includes the script used by the semi-structured interviews, 04_Profiles_interviewed.rtf which contains the type of profiles interviewed and, 05_Interviews_transcriptions.txt which includes 11 out of the 12 semi-structured interviews to Katuma, Smart and Fairbnb stakeholders since one participant declined to be recorded.

3) Data from the testing of the PLUS project “Charter of Digital Work Rights” presented in the deliverable “D5.1 Charter of Digital Worker Rights”. The Charter was tested by the involved cooperatives (Katuma, Smart and FairBnb). The data is presented in four files: 06_Surveys_script.odt which includes the questionnaire, 07_survey_results_Katuma_Catalan.cvs, 08_survey_results_Fairbnb_English.cvs and 09_survey_results_Smart_French.cvs which contains the results of the surveys.
