WILLINGNESS TO PAY FOR FOODS WITH MICROALGAE PROTEINS
- Van der Stricht, Hélène
- Profeta, Adriano
- Yung Hung, Christine
- Verbeke, Wim
This study evaluates consumers' willingness to pay for pasta with microalgae proteins and the impact of different front-of-pack labels, including Nutri-Score, organic, and vegan labels, on their purchasing decisions.
Conducted in November 2021, a quantitative online survey collected data from 3027 respondents across five European countries: the Netherlands, Germany, Hungary, Spain, and Italy.
The discrete choice experiment used in this study, analyzed through a random parameter logit model, revealed that respondents were most willing to pay a premium for pasta with an organic label, followed by the Nutri-Score label, and the vegan label. The findings underscore the importance of FOP labels in enhancing consumer acceptance and market uptake of innovative food products like those with microalgae proteins.
These insights provide valuable recommendations for food producers and policymakers aiming to promote healthier and more sustainable dietary choices across Europe.

- Van der Stricht, Hélène
- Hung, Yung
- Fischer, Arnout R.H.
- Verbeke, Wim
This study investigates consumer segments that are more or less willing to adopt foods with microalgae proteins in Europe.
Conducted in November 2021, a quantitative online survey gathered responses from 3027 individuals aged 18 to 75, (partly) responsible for household food purchases, across the Netherlands, Germany, Hungary, Spain, and Italy.
The data were analyzed using binary logistic regression and multinomial logistic regression to identify determinants and segment consumers based on their willingness to try and perception of foods with microalgae proteins.
Understanding consumer perceptions and willingness to adopt microalgae proteins is crucial given the growing importance of sustainable protein sources.
The findings aim to provide actionable insights for food manufacturers and policymakers to effectively target and promote microalgae protein foods, enhancing consumer acceptance and fostering sustainable dietary shifts.

AUTHORS, LANGUAGES AND POTENTIAL TRANSLATIONS IN IBERO-AMERICAN CULTURAL PERIODICALS (1898-1959), WITH VIAF LINKED AUTHOR DATA
- Ikoff, Ventsislav
- Fólica, Laura
- Agüero-Torales, Marvin M.
- Cardillo, Alessio
- del Solar Escardó, Jimena
- Roig Sanz, Diana
The dataset provides data on contributors—authors of contributions/articles—to Ibero-American cultural periodicals from the first half of 20th century. Using basic information like article titles and authorship as a starting point, we have retrieved a set of 60987 potential authors to 292186 articles in 309 periodicals published between 1898 and 1959, held in online repositories or libraries located in Argentina, Spain, Portugal, and Germany, all related to Spanish-speaking and Lusophone literary and cultural magazines. By applying machine learning and natural language processing tools, as well as by linking the author's names against the Virtual International Authority File (VIAF), we provide enriched information on gender, language, and nationality for about 66% of the initially identified contributor names, responsible for about 26% of the articles. We identify potential translations—loosely defined as texts published in a language different from the author’s native or writing language—and the presence of foreign authors in the Ibero-American cultural press.

3 YEARS DATA OF AIR TEMPERATURE AND RELATIVE HUMIDITY IN TWO HOUSES WITH DIFFERENT CONSTRUCTION SYSTEMS
- Lopez Besora, Judit
- Isalgue Buxeda, Antonio
- Coch Roura, Helena
This dataset shows values of air temperature and relative humidity in two houses that were monitored for 3 years. The houses are side by side in a village in the Litoral Mountain range of Tarragona (Spain). The houses have the same orientation (east-west), an equivalent position in the village and an equivalent configuration, but different architectural construction systems. Five TESTO 175 H1 data logger were used to take measurements of air temperature and relative humidity each 20 minutes in different spaces, starting at the o’clock. The dataset also includes the values of outdoor temperature, relative humidity, and irradiation in the same village. The data was obtained from a weather station located close to the houses. The collection of data started in September 2019 and finished in September 2022. The format is a set of 6 calculation sheets including all measurements in house1, house2 and outside. It is valuable for those who want to compare the thermal performance of two types of building construction during a long period of time, in use and under similar operation conditions.

PHORID FLIES IN MUSHROOM GROWING FARMS
- Navarro Lozano, María Jesús
- Escudero-Colomer, Lucía-Adriana
- Gea Alegría, Francisco J.
Dipteran species are some of the most serious arthropod pest affecting mushroom crops. The phorid fly Megaselia halterata Wood (Diptera: Phoridea) has traditionally been considered a minor pest throughout the world, althoguh they have repeatedly been a very important pest in Spanish mushroom farms. This datasheet summarizes the information regarding mushroom phorid populations in mushroom farms from Castilla-La Mancha (Spain). Over a period of 18 months (six seasons), 18 mushroom crop cycles (three cycles per season) were monitored. There are two data files: “Adult_phorids_CIES_IRTA” and “Immature_phorids_CIES_IRTA”.
“Adult_phorids_CIES_IRTA” file comprises data regarding adult phorids caught through the total growing period by means yellow sticky traps, weekly renewed, located in three points of the mushroom facilities: near the front door, in the middle of the farm, and in the back area, near the ventilation hole (“location” in the datasheet). Data value corresponding to number of phorid adults per day, per each location, per each mushroom growing stage, and per each of the studied seasons.
“Immature_phorids_CIES_IRTA” file comprise data of phorid immature stages inside of the growing substrate samples. The survey of compost and casing materials was carried out, per duplicate, at different mushroom growing stages, and in the same locations previously explained. Data value corresponding to number of phorid immature stages per each replication of the sample, per each mushroom growing substrate, per each location, per each growing stage, and per each of the studied seasons
