La actual sensibilidad hacia la conservación de la biodiversidad ha llevado a poner en marcha acciones para conservar los recursos fitogenéticos, que deben ir acompañadas, necesariamente, de un control sanitario del material a conservar. En este estudio, se presentan datos sobre la importancia de este tema y la trascendencia que puede tener en la apropiada conservación del material y en la posible dispersión de patógenos.

En Asturias es muy frecuente que las malas hierbas acompañen a nuestros cultivos, por lo que, para controlarlas, es imprescindible realizar labores de escarda. En el Laboratorio de Fitopatología del SERIDA se encontraron bacterias patógenas de la judía en algunas malas hierbas, que constituyen una fuente de inóculo y un reservorio que permite sobrevivir a la bacteria cuando no hay cultivo.



La tuberculosis bovina en Asturias : papel de la fauna silvestre

La tuberculosis bovina está causada por la micobacteria Mycobacterium bovis, un miembro del complejo Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Grange et al., 1990). Este patógeno presenta un amplio rango de hospedadores, entre los que se incluyen rumiantes domésticos como el ganado bovino, el caprino y el ovino, así como especies silvestres y, por supuesto, los humanos. Recomendaciones nutricionales para piensos destinados a la raza porcina autóctona de Asturias (Gochu Asturcelta)

En el proceso de recuperación de la raza porcina autóctona de Asturias, asumimos que sus necesidades nutricionales se asemejarían a las del cerdo Ibérico. En base a ellas se formularon los piensos para los reproductores del núcleo fundacional del SERIDA de Villaviciosa. Las sidras espumosas, elaboradas siguiendo el método tradicional o “Champenoise”, se caracterizan por poseer anhídrido carbónico de origen endógeno y por que tanto la segunda fermentación como la crianza sobre lías, se realizan en la misma botella que llega al consumidor. Las condiciones en las que se desarrolla esta segunda fermentación afectan tanto a las características que deben reunir las levaduras, como a su repercusión sobre los atributos sensoriales de las sidras.
