El principal objetivo de nuestro trabajo es delimitar las prácticas de reciprocidad que se llevaron a cabo durante el período de tiempo analizado y que permitieron reproducirse socialmente a los grupos menos favorecidos por la guerra y la posguerra. Nuestro análisis demuestra que la alimentación es un sistema de comunicación mediante el cual se crean o mantienen prácticas de poder, así como expresiones de identidad y/o defensa o ruptura de las normas morales que comparte un grupo social.

Las mujeres son más vulnerables al VIH-Sida que los hombres. Diversos son los condicionantes de esta vulnerabilidad. Entre ellos se encuentran: causas biológicas, que determinan una mayor probabilidad de transmisión; causas psicosociales resultado de la asunción de los roles de género tradicionales y sexistas; y causas económicas, que limitan sus oportunidades e independencia, impidiéndoles elegir estrategias de vida más seguras y saludables.
