DEVELOPMENT OF HARD X-RAY PHOTOELECTRON SPECTROSCOPY IN LIQUID CELLS USING OPTIMIZED MICROFABRICATED SILICON NITRIDE MEMBRANES [DATASET]

[Description of methods used for collection/generation of data] Data acquired with a high-kinetic-energy Scienta EW 4000 hemispherical analyser installed on the HAXPES endstation of the GALAXIES beamline of the French national synchrotron facility SOLEIL (France) [Methods for processing the data] CasaXPS software., Original raw data (uncorrected energies) of HAXPES spectra obtained at the HAXPES endstation of the GALAXIES beamline at SOLEIL synchrotron facility (France). Each spectrum is displayed in a two-column format, kinetic energy (X) vs. HAXPES intensity (Y). Photon energies are indicated for each figure., [FIGURE 5] HAXPES raw data of the Au 4f region in kinetic energy (X) vs. intensity (Y) columns of a 40 nm Au film (au_film_40nm), a dispersion of Au nanoparticles on a 25 nm-thick membrane in air (au_np_cell16), a dispersion of Au nanoparticles in MilliQ water (au_np_cell17) and a Au film treated with oxygen plasma and measured with 1486.6 eV photons (au_film_O2_plasma, data from DOI: 10.1021/acs.accounts.8b00241). Photon energy = 5 keV., [FIGURE 6] HAXPES raw and normalized (norm) data of the (a) N 1s, (b) O 1s, (c) C 1s and (d) F 1s lines obtained with 7 keV photons and using 20 nm thick membranes. Liquid cells filled with: air (S2), vacuum (S4), with air and with a ca 5 nm-thick amorphous carbon coating deposited in the inner part of the membrane (S7) and with 60 ml of the LP57 electrolyte (1 M LiPF6 in EC:EMC 3:7) and with the ca 5 nm-thick carbon coating (S6). The formulas used for normalization (heights normalized to their corresponding maxima) are displayed in the corresponding Y columns. In Fig. 6(d) a least-squares fit using the CasaXPS software after a Shirley-type background subtraction using a combination of Gaussian (70%) and Lorentzian (30%) functions under the constraint of identical full width at half-maximum (FWHM) for all components is shown.
