- Cabeza, Luisa F.
- Borri, Emiliano
- Martínez, Franklin R.
This data set corresponds to a collection of potential materials and their main thermophysical properties, which can be used as phase change materials (PCM) in high temperature applications. Data collection was carried out by consulting the scientific literature, commercial PCMs data sheets, and new materials were also developed with the FactSage thermodynamic software. The properties listed in the data set are: melting temperature, melting enthalpy, heat capacity in solid and liquid state, density in solid and liquid state, thermal conductivity, corrosion rate, degradation temperature, hazard level, price, and material drawbacks.

SPECIES-SPECIFIC BIOMASS DATASET OF FUNGAL FRUITING BODIES OF MEDITERRANEAN FOREST ECOSYSTEMS
- Morera, Albert
- Ponce, Ángel
- Martínez de Aragón, Juan
- Bonet Lledós, José Antonio
- Miguel Magaña, Sergio de
Macrofungi are a diverse group of organisms essential for the functioning of natural ecosystems. Their fruiting bodies are key to their life cycle, providing insight into fungal diversity through biomass-based species abundance and facilitating the quantification of provisioning and cultural ecosystem services. However, research on the biomass of macrofungal fruiting bodies has been limited due to the significant efforts required for sampling and identification. We introduce a comprehensive database that contains both fresh and dry biomass data for 836 species and 221 genera of macrofungal fruiting bodies found in Mediterranean forest ecosystems. This database is the largest global collection of macrofungal fruiting body biomass data, featuring information from over 350,000 fruiting bodies collected over more than 25 years. It enhances presence-only databases of macrofungal fruiting bodies, supports more detailed macrofungal research, and provides a foundation for developing management strategies to conserve fungal diversity, their ecosystem services, and enhance ecosystem resilience against global changes.

REPLICATION DATA FOR: FIRE IMPACTS ON THE BIOLOGY OF STREAM ECOSYSTEMS: A SYNTHESIS OF CURRENT KNOWLEDGE TO GUIDE FUTURE RESEARCH AND INTEGRATED FIRE MANAGEMENT
- Erdozain Ibarra, Maitane
- Miguel Magaña, Sergio de
- Cardil Forradellas, Adrián
This dataset lists and summarizes all 161 articles that we used to write a review on the effects of fire on stream ecosystems. First we characterize each article in terms of country, biome, fire regime, stream size, stream slope, land use and cover, time since fire, study design, replication, indicators measured, etc. Then, we summarize the information extracted from the articles that measured biological stream endpoints and that we used to quantify and model the responses of different biological endpoints (namely benthic invertebrates, fish, periphyton and functional indicators) to fire.

This study aimed to explore the metabolic fate of (poly)phenolic compounds in a unique anthocyanin-rich purple barley. Using Balb/c mice, researchers analyzed urine samples after a six-week diet of either standard food or whole-grain barley. They identified 39 (poly)phenolic compounds in the barley and 42 metabolites in urine post-consumption, including unique phase-II conjugates and colonic catabolites. The findings offer insights into the metabolism of these compounds in purple barley, paving the way for future research on its potential health benefits. The dataset includes an experimental summary of the (poly)phenolic profile of a hull-less, purple barley genotype biofortified with anthocyanins, compared to a standard diet. It also covers the (poly)phenolic metabolites identified in urine samples from mice after sustained intake. The barley's (poly)phenolic compounds are categorized into free and bound fractions, including anthocyanins, phenolic acids, flavan-3-ols, and flavones. The metabolites in mice urine predominantly consist of phase-II sulphated, glucuronided, and methylated conjugates, along with colonic catabolites.
