KRATOS: A LARGE SUITE OF N-BODY SIMULATIONS TO INTERPRET THE STELLAR KINEMATICS OF LMC-LIKE DISCS

The Large and Small Magellanic Cloud (LMC and SMC, respectively) are the brightest satellites of the Milky Way (MW) and, for the previous thousands of million years, they have been interacting with one another. Since observations only provide a static picture of the entire process, numerical simulations are used to interpret the present-day observational properties of these kinds of systems. KRATOS is a comprehensive suite of 28 open access pure N-body simulations of isolated and interacting LMC-like galaxies, to study the formation of substructures in their disc after the interaction with an SMC-mass galaxy.

LINEAR CODES OVER THE INTEGER RESIDUE RING Z/P^S

"Z/p^s-Additive Codes" is a package that generalizes the functionality for linear codes over Z/4 in Magma (see [1]) to linear codes over Z/p^s with p prime. Specifically, there are functions to construct some families of these codes, functions related to generalized Gray maps, information sets, the process of encoding, and decoding using permutation decoding, among others. The "Z/p^s-Additive Codes" package consists of five files written in the Magma language. Please, send your bug reports to Combinatorics, Coding and Security Group (CCSG) at support.ccsg@uab.cat or if it is a Magma problem to magma-trouble (magma@maths.usyd.edu.au). The "Z/p^s-Additive Codes" package has been written by several assistant developers (supervised by Mercè Villanueva) as a support for some research projects on Z/p^s-linear codes developed by the Combinatorics, Coding and Security Group (CCSG) within the Department of Information and Communications Engineering (dEIC) at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). This version of the package has been developped in Magma version 2.27-5.

El conjunt de dades conté dos fitxers: un fitxer .csv que inclou el conjunt de dades de 51 investigadors principals de la UOC (PI) més 3 investigadors de la UOC identificats com a dipòsits de conjunts de dades i un fitxer .csv que inclou la llista de les dades de recerca (és a dir, conjunts de dades) identificats durant l'anàlisi de la ubicació., Dataset of location analysis of the research data published by UOC researchers. The dataset contains two files: a .csv file including the dataset of 51 UOC principal investigators (PI) plus 3 UOC researchers identified as dataset depositories and a .csv file including the list of the research data (i.e., datasets) identified during the location analysis.

BRONZE AGE IMPASTO CERAMICS FROM ROCA VECCHIA (LECCE, ITALY): PETROGRAPHIC PHOTOMICROGRAPHS

This dataset includes the photomicrographs obtained by Petrographic examination (PE) of Impasto ceramics from the Middle to Final Bronze Age phases recovered at the site of Roca Vecchia (Lecce, italy). These data were collected as part of Roca Archaeological Survey project (RAS) directed by Francesco Iacono of the University of Bologna (Italy) in collaboration with Roberta Mentesana of the ARQUB team of the University of Barcelona (Catalonia, Spain).

Petrographic examination was performed on 30µ-thick thin-sections prepared as standard for ceramic analysis and observed on the petrographic microscope Olympus BX43P and the picture taken with the camera Olympus SC50. The photomicrographs show the section of the pots where the mineral and rock fragments can be identified. Fabrics are described and discussed in: Mentesana R. and Iacono F. 2024. Crafting resilience: persistence and adaptation of the ceramic manufacture at Roca Vecchia from the Middle to the Final Bronze Age phases. Anthropological and Archaeological Science.

The scalebar is located in the bottom-right corner of each photomicrograph.

The dataset also includes a file with a description of the charactersitics of each sample.

BRONZE AGE IMPASTO CERAMICS FROM ROCA VECCHIA (LECCE, ITALY): MICROSTRUCTURAL DATA

This dataset includes the microstructural and semi-quantitative data obtained by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) coupled with a Energy Dispersive X-ray spectrometer (EDX) of the Impasto ceramics from the Middle to Final Bronze Age phases recovered at the site of Roca Vecchia (Lecce, italy). These data were collected as part of Roca Archaeological Survey project (RAS) directed by Francesco Iacono of the University of Bologna (Italy) in collaboration with Roberta Mentesana of the ARQUB team of the University of Barcelona (Catalonia, Spain).
SEM observations were performed on fresh cross-section fractures passing through the oro-aboral axis of the body wall in order to observe the microstructure. Bulk specimens were fixed on metal specimen stubs using silicone adhesive and the non-conductive ceramic specimens were made conductive. Colloidal silver paint was applied on excess silicone adhesive and lateral sides of ceramic bulk specimen. Then, the specimen surface was coated with a thin carbon film (~ 10 nm) by vacuum evaporation. The observations were made by using a FEI QUANTA 200 coupled with a microanalizer EDX: Thermo Ultradry – Pathfinder and photomicrograph taken at x2000. The observations were performed using an acceleration voltage of 20 kV and a working distance of 10 mm.The determined elements were: Na2O, MgO, Al2O3, SiO2, P2O5, K2O, CaO,TiO2,Fe2O3 (as total Fe).
The photomicrographs show the micromorphology of the pots, where the vitrification stages could be identified. The photomicrographs were taken at the core, and at the bottom margin and top margin of the ceramic section when possible. When stated in the file name, the top margin include the surface. Microstructures are described and discussed in: Mentesana R. and Iacono F. 2024. Crafting resilience: persistence and adaptation of the ceramic manufacture at Roca Vecchia from the Middle to the Final Bronze Age phases. Anthropological and Archaeological Science. At the bottom of the photomicrographs, the image detection method (det), the accelerating voltage (HV), the working distance (WD), the magnification (mag) parameters and the scalebar could be found. Photomicrographs were taken at the CCiTUB of the Universitat de Barcelona.
This dataset includes also a file named Roca_SEM samples, a semi-colon file with the characteristics of each sample; and a file named Roca_EDX results,a semi-colon file with the semi-quantitative EDX results.

ENVIRONMENTAL, SPATIAL AND DIVERSITY VARIABLES FOR EACH OF THE PONDS ENCOMPASSING FOUR DIFFERENT PONDSCAPES LOCATED WITHIN THE MEDITERRANEAN REGION

Dataset of alpha (i.e., S.rar.z, H.rar.z, TD.z) and beta (PhBD.z, LCBD.z, BC.d.z) diversity metrics, environmental variables (i.e., Pond_size, ECELS, TRIX) and centrality metrics (i.e., degree, closeness, betweenness) for 6 different set of regression models (i.e., 2 network approaches x 3 community datasets) from 4 pondscapes (i.e., Albera, Giara, Guils and Vila Nova). The first Excel sheet named “entire com-contingent” contains both the explanatory and response variables used to run the regression models for alpha and beta diversity metrics using the entire community dataset and the community-contingent approach. The second sheet named “entire com-percola” contains both the explanatory and response variables used to run the regression models for alpha and beta diversity metrics using the entire community dataset and the percolation approach. The third sheet named “act disp-contingent” contains both the explanatory and response variables used to run the regression models for alpha and beta diversity metrics using the active dispersers community dataset and the community-contingent approach. The fourth sheet named “act disp-percola” contains both the explanatory and response variables used to run the regression models for alpha and beta diversity metrics using the active dispersers community dataset and the percolation approach.
