A BIODIVERSITY INVENTORY OF THE 16TH CENTURY BASED ON A LAND AND SOCIO-ECONOMIC SURVEY IN SPAIN

We mined the information of an exhaustive standardized historical survey developed in 628 localities across Spain between 1574 and 1582 (Relaciones Topográficas de Felipe II) with the goal of producing a rigorous national inventory of the socio-economic status and natural resources of Spanish settlements. The survey includes records of plant and animal species, both wild and domestic. We were able to collate 7,309 records for 75 wild plant taxa, 89 wild animal taxa, and 60 crop and domestic animal taxa. These data can be used to reconstruct historical land use and habitat cover, and model historical distributions of many species, including emblematic ones such as wolf and bear, which can establish reference distributions to assess range and niche expansion, contraction and shifts., The project SUMHAL aims at implementing a strategy for biodiversity conservation in the western Mediterranean hotspot by setting a technologically efficient and scientifically robust system. The project combines fieldwork and virtual research environments for the recording, storing, analysis, and dissemination of the conservation status and threats of biodiversity in Andalusia (Southern Spain). The general aim of WP3 is to explore venues on how to mobilize, harmonize and disseminate historical information on biodiversity and its management in order to generate reference conditions for conservation, improve research and enhance its interface with management. Accurate and abundant historical information is provided by governmental and citizen initiatives, conserved in diverse formats, most of which is neither published nor readily available for researchers or managers. SUMHAL’s WP3 aims to produce useful information for the conservation of biodiversity by mobilizing information with three main focuses: 1) gathering historical species occurrence records; 2) inventorying damages produced by animals on human activities or goods; and 3) inventorying management actions and results in protected areas.

Experimental tests have been carried out by applying a constant stress to the materials under study (Al-99.8% as well as AA6061alloy) and increasing the temperature from room temperature to 800K. The heating rate used was 2K/min. We implemented the three-dimensional random-field Ising model, both as function of stress and as a function of temperature for cubic supercells of 16×16×16 sites. [Methods for processing the data] Self-developed python code provided with data., Raw data for this publication, including Fourier-resolved magneto-optical Kerr effect maps and selected analysis of them, as shown in the paper., This work was supported by UKRI through an EPSRC studentship, EP/N509668/1 and EP/R513222/1, the European Community under the Horizon 2020 Program, Contract No. 101001290 (3DNANOMAG), the MCIN with funding from European Union NextGenerationEU (PRTR-C17.I1), and the Aragon Government through the Project Q-MAD., The data is structured in different folders for each of the figures: - Figure4: contains HDF5 file "ParticularCases.h5", with the necessary data to generate the maps shown in figure 4. - Figure5: contains as ".npy" files the values for the optical and magneto-optical parameters for figure (a), as well as the error as a function of the number of averages for figure (c). - ResultsTable: contains the files necessary to generate the results shown in table II. The files "sstate" correspond to the "S" error results, whereas the "shared" correspond to the "SC" error results of the table. - SM1: contains the HDF5 files to generate the maps shown in figure 1 of the supplementary material for the different materials specified in the text. - SM2: contains the HDF5 files to generate the maps shown in figure 2 of the supplementary material for linear polarization and the magnetic configurations specified in the text. - SM4: contains the data needed to generate the uniqueness plot. "One theta" and "Two theta" are the data-sets when using respectively one or two different incidence angles for different optical plane values. The numpy arrays inside contain the fit values for each of the variables as a function of the number of fits as described in the supplementary text.
