This chapter studies the collaboration between I. Goldziher, J. D. Luciani, E. Doutté, and M. Gaudefroy-Demombynes in the framework of the publication of the book Le livre de Mohammed Ibn Toumert mahdi des almohades. This book, published in 1903 in Algiers and promoted by the French colonial administration, contained the first edition of the collected writings attributed to the founder of the Almohad movement, Ibn Tūmart (d. 524/1130). The edition of the Arabic text was prepared by Luciani, and Goldziher contributed an introduction in German, whose translation was commissioned first to Doutté and then to Gaudefroy-Demombynes. The present study is based on the correspondence preserved in Goldziher's Nachlass at the Oriental Collection of the Library of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences., This publication was prepared under the aegis of the grant PGC2018-099268-A-I00 funded by MCIN/AEI/ 10.13039/501100011033 and by "ERDF A way of making Europe" and the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas internal grant no. 202210I171., Peer reviewed
