This dataset collects 1,433 bibliographic references related to Spanish architecture during the Franco's dictatorship (1939-1975). The research was focused on news of Spanish Architecture abroad, including academic journals, architectural press, conference proceedings, books, book chapters, magazines and newspapers, but it excludes the Spanish media. All references were tagged including names of architects, buildings, types of buildings and cities. The database is delivered in three file formats (BibTeX, RIS and Zotero RDF), which are compatible with several reference managers as Zotero, Mendeley, EndNote or RefWorks. This dataset was produced by the R&D project “Spanish architecture in international communication media: Publications, exhibitions, congresses (First part: 1940-1975)”. Three ways were used to find the news: Firstly, systematic research was done using architectural databases as Avery Index to Architectural Periodicals, JSTOR or ProQuest Periodicals Index Online; secondly, the most influential architectural magazines were revised in paper (The Architectural Review, Architectural Forum, Casabella continuità, Domus or L’Architecture d’Aujourd’hui); and thirdly, some authors and works were studied following bibliographical references published in their monographs.

These data are associated to the paper with the same title and are structured according to the figures in the paper. These data correspond to the research results of the WP3 of the European Project 4D-POLYSENSE., The present dataset reports the scientific results corresponding to a scientific study where a bidimensional (2D) polypropylene flexible mesh material has been converted into a fourth dimension (4D) dynamic system. The platform is composed by a fibres of isotactic polypropylene (iPP) mesh coated with thermosensitive poly(N-isopropylacrylamide-co-N,N'-methylene bis(acrylamide) (PNIPAAm-co-MBA) hydrogel, and undergoes variations in its geometry by reversible folding/unfolding behaviour. Folding and unfolding motion in aqueous solution of bilayer and monolayer systems composed by two or one layer of hydrogel, respectively, are reported in the present dataset. Furthermore, an infrared thermographic camera and an optical microscope were used to evaluate the macroscopic and microscopic structure stimulus response in air. Additionally, PP-g-PNIPAAm meshes showed an increase in the mechanical properties (bursting strength) with respect to the uncoated mesh.

These data are associated to the paper with the same title and are structured according to the figures in the paper. These data correspond to the research results of the WP2 of the European Project 4D-POLYSENSE., The present dataset collects and reports the scientific results corresponding to a scientific study of a commercial and fully flexible versatile bilayer system, composed by a polypropylene (PP) mesh and a covalently bonded poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAAm) hydrogel. In this study the mechanism responsible for cell-adhesion and de-adhesion, when the PNIPAAm-co-MBA monolayer film (adherent on one hand to the PP substrate and anti-adherent on the other hand to cell proliferation) is being employed, has been elucidated. The grafting of the hydrogel was studied and the the graft yield as well as the spectroscopic characterization (FTIR and XPS) of samples treated at different concentration of the crosslinker and different grafting time are ported in the present dataset. The scientific results of cell adhesion and biocompatibility assay are also included, being the in vitro results with fibroblast (COS-1) and epithelial (MCF-7) cells obtained with a mesh modified with a porous iPP-g-PNIPAAm bilayer system, prepared via PNIPAAm grafting for 2 h at the lowest N,NI-methylene bis(acrylamide) (MBA) concentration (1 mM).

These data are associated to the paper with the same title of the authors, and are structured according to the figures in the paper: http://hdl.handle.net/2117/335727, The use of Cold Atmospheric Plasma (CAP) in oncology is being recently studied as a novel potential anti-cancer therapy. However, the beneficial effects of CAP for treating osteosarcoma have mostly been demonstrated in 2-dimensional cultures of cells, which do not mimic the complexity of the 3-dimensional (3D) bone microenvironment. In order to evaluate the effects of CAP in a relevant context of the human disease, we developed a 3D tissue-engineered model of osteosarcoma using a bone-like scaffold made of collagen type I and hydroxyapatite nanoparticles. Human osteosarcoma cells cultured within the scaffold showed a high capacity to infiltrate and proliferate and to exhibit osteomimicry in vitro. As expected, we observed significantly different functional behaviors between monolayer and 3D cultures when treated with Cold Plasma-Activated Ringer’s Solution (PAR). Our data reveal that the 3D environment not only protects cells from PAR-induced lethality by scavenging and diminishing the amount of reactive oxygen and nitrogen species generated by CAP, but also favours the stemness phenotype of osteosarcoma cells. This is the first study that demonstrates the negative effect of PAR on cancer stem-like cell subpopulations in a 3D biomimetic model of cancer. These findings will allow to suitably re-focus research on plasma-based therapies in future

This dataset is related to the protocol developed by the authors on the evaluation of the effects of cold atmospheric plasma and plasma-treated liquids in cancer cell cultures. More specifically, the data correspond to the anticipated results presented in the paper submitted to Nature Protocols, The present dataset corresponds to the anticipated results that can be obtained following the protocol described in the article. In particular, dataset corresponding to Figure 8 presents the absorbance values from the WST-1 cytotoxicity assay as a function of the well size where the experiment is performed. Data from Figure 9b show absorbance values from the WST-1 cytotoxicity assay as a function of the treatment time. Data from figure 9c-e show the absorbance or fluorescence values obtained in the experiments to quantify RONS, together with the values from the calibration curves. Data fromfigure 10 a provide the list and values of mRNA fold induction of the genes analyzed, and data from figure 10c show the pixel intensity obtained for the phospho-kinase antibody array.
