SUPPLEMENTAL DATA OF: DOES SEXUAL SEGREGATION OCCUR DURING THE NON-BREEDING PERIOD?: A COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS IN SPATIAL AND FEEDING ECOLOGY OF THREE CALONECTRIS SHEARWATERS

  • González-Solís, Jacob
We evaluated the degree of sexual segregation (SS) in the feeding ecology, in the choice of main non-breeding areas, in behaviour and in migratory phenology of three closely related shearwaters: Scopoli’s, Cory’s and Cape Verde shearwaters (Calonectris diomedea, C. borealis and C. edwardsii, respectively) during the non-breeding period in relation to the conditions of their different life strategies. The main objective of the study is to better understand the ecological and evolutionary role of sex on the spatial, behavioural and feeding ecology of birds during the non-breeding period, since most studies on birds have focused on the breeding period. The referred issues were addressed through a multidisciplinary approach combining geolocation and stable isotope data.

ERC ARTSOUNDSCAPES PROJECT – ROUGH DATA RELATED TO THE FACEBOOK PAGE

  • Coltofean, Laura
  • Díaz-Andreu, Margarita, 1962-
  • Mattioli, Tommaso

PERCEIVE WP2: EVALUATION OF EU CITIZENS’ PERCEPTION OF THE EU PROJECT: KEY VARIABLES FOR CITIZENS' IDENTIFICATION WITH EU - DATASETS - PART A

  • Calia, Pinuccia
  • López-Bazo, Enrique
  • Moreno Serrano, Rosina
  • Royuela Mora, Vicente
  • Suriñach Caralt, Jordi
This dataset refers to PERCEIVE tasks 2.2, 2.3, 2.4 and 2.5. These tasks analyze the data sets developed by PERCEIVE task 2.1 in order to identify, quantify and synthetize the most important variables to asses identification with EU by citizens. The results feed an update of the data set developed in task 2.1. Finally, these data is be used to model convergence of EU citizens' identification in the case study regions. Data consists of the quantitative statistical information used to produce all the results of WP2 and the indicators regarding the variables of interest obtained by means of different statistical techniques. Moreover, data on absorption of EU funds, provided by the EC and other research centres and collected in task 2.5, is be gathered in this data set, together with the results of convergence analysis. This data set is be used to evaluate the EU citizens’ perception of the EU project in relation to regional performance of the cohesion policy and institutional quality. WP2 uses primary data from the survey developed in WP1 (“PERCEIVE: WP1: Framework for comparative analysis of the perception of Cohesion Policy and identification with the European Union at citizen level in different European countries: Task1.3: Survey at citizen level” data set) and also comparative case studies on EU countries and regions, coming also from WP1 (”PERCEIVE: WP1: Framework for comparative analysis of the perception of Cohesion Policy and identification with the European Union at citizen level in different European countries: Task1.1: The framework for the comparative analysis” and ”PERCEIVE: WP1: Framework for comparative analysis of the perception of Cohesion Policy and identification with the European Union at citizen level in different European countries: Task1.2: Focus group with Cohesion Policy practitioners” data sets). The data set incorporates data from existing sources including Eurostat and information resulting from the Survey conducted at WP1 of the PERCEIVE’s project. As regards secondary data, no additional treatment is needed. Info about the sources of such data, including references to technical details, is provided in the dataset's codebook. Datasets are available in CSV format, being the field delimiter « , » (comma). For further clarification, please look at the README files of every data subset.

SUPPLEMENTAL DATA OF: EFFECTIVENESS OF CONSUMERS WASHING WITH SANITIZERS TO REDUCE HUMAN NOROVIRUS ON MIXED SALAD

  • Anfruns-Estrada, Eduard
  • Bottaro, Marilisa
  • Pintó Solé, Rosa María
  • Guix Arnau, Susana
  • Bosch, Albert
Viral titers were collected following a method based on the ISO 15216-1 (2017) protocol with some modifications, on experimentally inoculated ready-to-eat vegetables. See Materials and Methods section of the manuscript. Effect of the sanitizer wash on virus reduction was determined by calculating the log units (Nt/N0), where N0 is the titer of virus recovered on unwashed control samples and Nt is the titer of virus recovered on washed sample.

Dataset containing SPME-GC-MS raw analytical data (total ion chromatograms, not aligned) obtained and used by Quintanilla-Casas et al. (LWT - Food Science and Technology 121: 108936). Data correspond to the volatile fingerprint of 174 authentic and traceable virgin olive oil samples previously graded by six official sensory panels (data from 2 outlier samples are not included) in the framework of OLEUM project (EC H2020 Programme 2014–2020). Briefly, data correspond to SPME-GC-MS scan intensities of the total ion chromatogram at each retention time from 5.5 to 61.96 min. These data were aligned and used under a fingerprinting approach by Quintanilla-Casas et al. to develop a classification model (PLS-DA approach) to verify the sensory quality of virgin olive oils, and it was suggested as an instrumental method to support sensory panels.
