The item is made of 2 files, of which 1 is the dataset and the other include a small description of the measured variables.-- Dataset contributed to the Project Carbochange.-- More information in http://hdl.handle.net/10261/115861, This dataset gathers discrete measurements of CO2 (pH and alkalinity) and hydrographic variables (salinity, temperature, dissolved oxygen, nitrate, phosphate and silicate) obtained during the cruise OVIDE 2010 carried out from 8 to 30 June 2010. pH was measured spectrophotometrically following the Clayton and Byrne (1993). This method consists on adding a dye solution to the seawater sample, so that the ratio between two absorbances at two different wavelengths is proportional to the sample pH. Alkalinity was measured using an automatic potentiometric titrator Titrando 809 Metrohm, with a Metrohm 6.0232.100 combination glass electrode and a Pt-1000 probe for temperature measurement following the methodology given by Pérez and Fraga (1987). Dissolved oxygen was analyzed following the widely applied Winkler method. Determinations of nitrate, phosphate and silicate were carried out following methods described by Hansen and Grassoff (1983) Salinity and Temperature were recorded with a CTD probe, French OVIDE Project supported by CNRS, and CARBOCHANGE, Peer reviewed

The aim of the Teacher Learning for European Literacy Education (TeL4ELE) project was to support literacy educators in five European countries to become experts in genre based literacy pedagogy and in turn support teachers to improve learning outcomes for all students especially those who are educationally disadvantaged. Based on the external evaluation of the project1 this aim was fulfilled. Survey and interview data showed high levels of engagement with the pedagogy on the part of both educators and classroom teachers. Ninety seven per cent2 stated that, in their view, the pedagogy offered a completely different approach to reading and writing compared to those that are generally used in school. Moreover almost all teachers perceived it had had an impact on their students’ understanding of how language operates in different texts to make meaning and on their students’ reading and writing. Ninety two per cent wished to continue with the approach citing the following reasons as motivation: improvement in student learning, empowering nature of pedagogy, enjoyed working with the approach. Most significantly students’ assessment scores based on their pre and post reading and writing scores showed that all students (drawn from the 97 participating classes) had improved by an average of 14.3 % on their writing and 9% on their reading (in almost half of all cases in less than 5 weeks).

Dataset of Odonata specimens of BOS Arthropod Collection (BOS-Odo) of University of Oviedo, available on IPT of GBIF (doi asigned to dataset: https://doi.org/10.15468/5chm8b ), and published in Torralba-Burrial, A., & Ocharan, F. J. (2013). Iberian Odonata distribution: data of the BOS Arthropod Collection (University of Oviedo, Spain). ZooKeys, 06, 37–58 https://doi.org/10.3897/zookeys.306.5289 (please cited the paper when use the dataset)., Odonata are represented from the Iberian Peninsula by 79 species. However, there exists a significant gap in accessible knowledge about these species, especially regarding their distribution. This data paper describes the specimen-based Odonata data of the Arthropod Collection of the Department of Biología de Organismos y Sistemas (BOS), University of Oviedo, Spain. The specimens were mainly collected from the Iberian Peninsula (98.63% of the data records), especially the northern region. The earliest specimen deposited in the collection dates back to 1950, while the 1980’s and 2000’s are the best-represented time periods. Between 1950 and 2009, 16, 604 Odonata specimens were deposited and are documented in the dataset. Approximately 20% of the specimens belong to the families Coenagrionidae and Calopterygidae. Specimens include the holotype and paratypes of the Iberian subspecies Calopteryx haemorrhoidalis asturica Ocharan, 1983 and Sympetrum vulgatum ibericum Ocharan, 1985. The complete dataset is also provided in Darwin Core Archive format., Spanish National R+D+i Plan (MICINN, Spanish Government, grant ref. PTA2010-4108-I) and PCTI Asturias (Asturias Regional Government, ref. COF11-38).
