Datasets presented here were employed in the main work “Spatial structure and soil properties shape local community structure of plant-parasitic nematodes in cultivated olive trees in southern Spain” Archidona-Yuste et al., 2020. In this research, we aimed to unravel the diversity of plant-parasitic nematodes (PPN) associated with cultivated olive (Olea europaea subsp. europaea var. europaea) in southern Spain, Andalusia. The olive growing area of Andalusia is of high agriculture and socio-economic importance with an extensive distribution of this crop. To this end, we conducted a systematic survey comprising 376 commercial olive orchards covering the diversity of cropping systems applied. Data showed 128 species of PPN belonging to 38 genera and to 13 families. In addition, an extensive data set regarding to potential factors in structuring the community patterns of PPN found in the 376 commercial olive orchards sampled is provided. Three variables data set were compiled including above-ground environment, soil and agronomic management. Overall, 48 explanatory variables were selected as determinist processes on shaping the diversity of PPN. Finally, data also showed the values regarding to the partition of beta diversity into contributions of single sites to overall beta diversity (LCBD) and intro contributions of individual species to overall beta diversity (SCBD). Data may serve as benchmarks for other groups working in the field of PPN diversity associated with crops and of belowground communities and ecosystems., This research is part of the PhD project of the first author and was supported by grant AGL2012-37521 from Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad of Spain, grant 219262 ArimNET-ERANET FP7 2012–2015 Project PESTOLIVE and grant P12AGR 1486 Consejería de Economía, Innvovación y Ciencia of the Junta de Andalucía, and Union Europea, Fondo Europeo de Desarrollo regional, ‘Una manera de hacer Europa’. [DATASET] SYNTHESIS OF POLYSUBSTITUTED IODOARENES ENABLED BY ITERATIVE IODINE‐DIRECTED PARA AND ORTHO C−H FUNCTIONALIZATION
- Wu, Yichen

Among halogenated aromatics, iodoarenes are unique in their ability to produce the bench-stable halogen(III) form. Earlier, such iodine(III) centers were shown to enable C−H functionalization ortho to iodine via halogen-centered rearrangement. The broader implications of this phenomenon are explored by testing the extent of an unusual iodane-directed para C−H benzylation, as well as by developing an efficient C−H coupling with sulfonyl-substituted allylic silanes. Through the combination of the one-shot nature of the coupling event and the iodine retention, multisubstituted arenes can be prepared by sequentially engaging up to three aromatic C−H sites. This type of iodine-based iterative synthesis will serve as a tool for the formation of value-added aromatic cores. © 2019 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. This Letter presents a search for the production of a long-lived neutral particle (Zd) decaying within the ATLAS hadronic calorimeter, in association with a standard model (SM) Z boson produced via an intermediate scalar boson, where Z→+ (=e, μ). The data used were collected by the ATLAS detector during 2015 and 2016 pp collisions with a center-of-mass energy of s=13 TeV at the Large Hadron Collider and correspond to an integrated luminosity of 36.1±0.8 fb-1. No significant excess of events is observed above the expected background. Limits on the production cross section of the scalar boson times its decay branching fraction into the long-lived neutral particle are derived as a function of the mass of the intermediate scalar boson, the mass of the long-lived neutral particle, and its cτ from a few centimeters to one hundred meters. In the case that the intermediate scalar boson is the SM Higgs boson, its decay branching fraction to a long-lived neutral particle with a cτ approximately between 0.1 and 7 m is excluded with a 95% confidence level up to 10% for mZd between 5 and 15 GeV., Peer reviewed

The corresponding 2.5D electrical forward and inverse problem is solved on an unstructured mesh with tetrahedral elements using BERT (Boundless Electrical Resistivity Tomography) (Rucker et al. 2006, Gunther et al. 2006) and pyGIMLi (Generalized Inversion and Modeling Library) (Rucker et al. 2017)., Surface electrical resistivity tomography (ERT) is a widely used tool to study seawater intrusion (SWI). It is noninvasive and offers a high spatial coverage at a low cost, but it is strongly affected by decreasing resolution with depth. We conjecture that the use of CHERT (cross-hole ERT) can partly overcome these resolution limitations since the electrodes are placed at depth, which implies that the model resolution does not decrease in the zone of interest. The objective of this study is to evaluate the CHERT for imaging the SWI and monitoring its dynamics at the Argentona site, a well-instrumented field site of a coastal alluvial aquifer located 40 km NE of Barcelona. To do so, we installed permanent electrodes around boreholes attached to the PVC pipes to perform time-lapse monitoring of the SWI on a transect perpendicular to the coastline. After two years of monitoring, we observe variability of SWI at different time scales: (1) natural seasonal variations and aquifer salinization that we attribute to long-term drought and (2) short-term fluctuations due to sea storms or flooding in the nearby stream during heavy rain events. The spatial imaging of bulk electrical conductivity allows us to explain non-trivial salinity profiles in open boreholes (step-wise profiles really reflect the presence of fresh water at depth). By comparing CHERT results with traditional in situ measurements such as electrical conductivity of water samples and bulk electrical conductivity from induction logs, we conclude that CHERT is a reliable and cost-effective imaging tool for monitoring SWI dynamics., This work was funded by the project CGL2016-77122-C2-1-R/2-R of the Spanish Government. We would like to thank SIMMAR (Serveis Integrals de Manteniment del Maresme) and the Consell Comarcal del Maresme in the construction of the research site. The FAUCES2 cruise is organized into three specific objectives: 1) to determine the geomorphology and geological evolution of the canyon heads, during the Quaternary, their processes and controlling factors; 2) to analyze the slope-stability of canyon heads by means of sedimentary and geotechnical characterizations, as well as modelling; and 3) to establish the key elements and geological processes that can represent a potential hazard, Peer reviewed

CCDB: THE COLLAPSE CALDERA WORLDWIDE DATABASE (VERSION 4.0, 2019)
- Geyer, Adelina
- Martí Molist, Joan
- Pedrazzi, Dario
The rationale behind constructing this new database is to create a comprehensive catalogue including all known or identified collapse calderas. The availability of accurate and comprehensive statistics is vital to understand these volcanic structures . Thus, this extensive data compilation should be an accessible and useful tool for studying and understanding caldera collapse processes . The final aim of the CCDB is to update the current field based knowledge on calderas, by merging together the abovementioned databases and complementing them with the existing peer-reviewed articles on calderas. This database does not include all the calderas of the world but tries to be representative. The current files is the latest update corresponding to papers published up to 2019., This research has been partially funded by the EC EXPLORIS project (EVR1-2001-00047). J. Martí is grateful for a MEC grant (PR-2006-0499). A. Geyer is grateful for a MEC post-graduate fellowship (AP2002-1010).
