- Laura Ceballos
- Cerdán, Fátima
- Infante, Raquel
- Fuentes, Mª Victoria
The state of alarm due to COVID-19 in Spain led to limit dental treatment exclusively to emergencies. The objective of the survey was to evaluate the amount and type of emergencies attended during this period, as well as to know how they were solved and what measures were adopted to carry out dental care in these exceptional circumstances.

BARD: A GLOBAL AND REGIONAL VALIDATION BURNED AREA DATABASE
- Franquesa Fuentetaja, Magi

- Roteta, E.
- Padilla, M.

The FireCCI project is part of the European Space Agency's (ESA) Climate Change Initiative (CCI) programme. The project focuses on the Fire Disturbance Essential Climate Variable(ECV) and specifically on 'Burned Area' (BA) products. The main objective of the FireCCI project is the development and improvement of the burned area detection algorithms, including the product validation protocols.
The FireCCI project has developed several global BA products: FireCCI31 and FireCCI41 based on MERIS data, FireCCI50 and the last version FireCCI51 based on MODIS data at 250 m spatial resolution (Chuvieco, et al., 2018; Lizundia-Loiola, et al., 2020).
In addition, high resolution BA products have been produced for regional or continental scale (e.g. FireCCISFD11 (Roteta, et al., 2019) based on Sentinel-2 data, for Sub-Saharan Africa at 20 m spatial resolution, and FireCCIS1SA10 (Belenguer-Plomer, et al., 2019) derived from Sentinel-1 for 2017 for the Amazon basin in South America).
Moreover, the FireCCI project has promoted the research on BA validation methodologies generating statistically rigorous protocols to implement the accuracy assessment of BA product according the CEOS LPVS stage 3
validation requeriments (Padilla, et al., 2014; 2015; 2017).
As a result of this research and the BA product validation activities, several global and regional burned area reference datasets were generated and compiled to create a Burned Area Reference Database (BARD) for validation.
Contributions from other international projects and researches as CONUS Landsat Burned Area, and NOFFI, have significantly increased the BARD database.

ASSEMBLY OF SPECIES CLIMATIC NICHES OF COASTAL COMMUNITIES DOES NOT SHIFT AFTER INVASION
- Saldaña-López, Asunción
- Vilà, Montserrat
- Lloret, Francisco
- Herrera, José Manuel
- González-Moreno, Pablo
In this study, we analyzed the effects of invasion by four exotic species with different life strategies on the climatic niche of a plant community located in a coastal area of southwestern Spain. We used ordination methods and examined the community species composition. There was an almost complete overlap in the community ensemble niches between non-invaded and invaded plots for the four invaders. However, the community ensemble niches differed depending on the invasive species and were related to differences in community species similarity between non-invaded and invaded plots. Species assemblages in coastal vegetation did not change their community ensemble climatic niches after invasion by plants with contrasted life-forms. This pattern is likely the result of invasion which did not trigger major changes in species richness and composition, or alternatively because the species that were locally displaced by invasion have been substituted by others with similar climatic requirements.

REPRODUCIBLE EXPERIMENTS ON THE MASTER THESIS: AN EXPERIMENTAL SURVEY OF NAMED ENTITY RECOGNITION METHODS IN THE BIOMEDICAL DOMAIN
- Hennig, Sebastian
- Garcia-Serrano, Ana M.
Semantic Textual Similarity (also known as Semantic Short-text Similarity) is a research problem that aims to calculate the similarity among text units (phrases, sentences, paragraphs or texts) focusing on the semantic content. The importance of Semantic Similarity in Natural Language Processing has increased in the last years due to its relevance in many tasks and applications, such as Automatic Summarization, Machine Translation, Question Answering or Semantic Indexing.
UB-NER is a self-contained Java software library for benchmarking state-of-the-art STS measures in the biomedical domain. It allows to define and execute a set of experiments combining different measures and preprocessing methods.
This dataset contains the reproducibility framework and dependencies, whose aim is to allow the exact replication of unsupervised named entity recognition experiment in the biomedical domain as detailed in "ReproductionProtocol.pdf" file.
