The effects on growth performance of supplementation of four different AA combinations in a milk replacer (MR, 25.4% CP and 20.3% fat) based on skimmed milk powder and whey protein concentrate were evaluated in 76 Holstein male calves (3 ± 1.7 d old). The 4 MR were: CTRL with no AA supplementation; PG supplying additional 0.3% Pro and 0.1% Gly; FY supplying additional 0.2% Phe and 0.2% Tyr; KMT providing additional 0.62% Lys, 0.22% Met, and 0.61% Thr. All calves were fed the same milk allowance program and were weaned at 56 d of study. Concentrate intake was limited to minimize interference of potential differences in solid feed intake among treatments. Animals were weighed weekly, intakes recorded daily, and blood samples obtained at 2, 5, and 7 wk of study to determine serum urea and plasma AA concentrations. The file presents data of calf performance. Data was collected at Torre Marimon IRTA calf facilities (Caldes de Montbui, Spain) during 2017.

RAW DATA ON WEIGHT AND DIET CONSUMPTION OF DIFFERENT DIETARY TREATMENTS FOR MALE AND FEMALE RATS. VALUES FOR PLASMA METABOLITE VALUES AND FOR LIVER ENZYME EXPRESSIONS

  • Oliva Lorenzo, Laia
  • Alemany, Marià, 1946-
  • Fernández López, José Antonio
  • Remesar Betlloch, Xavier
The effect of different dietary composition on liver lipid accumulation was analyzed. Diets with the same caloric content were given, but which differed in the percentage content (both in weight and derived energy) of proteins and lipids: Control diet (19% protein + 12.5% lipids + 67% carbohydrates), Cafeteria diet (11% protein + 39% fat + 48% carbohydrates), Hyperlipidic diet (HF) (14% protein + 37% fat + 48% carbohydrates), hyperprotein diet (HP) (40% protein + 12% fat + 47% carbohydrates). Cafeteria and HL diets, despite having the same lipid content, differed in their lipid composition. Animals were treated for 30 days with these diets and intake was assessed. Blood and tissue samples were taken after the animals were sacrificed. The usual plasma parameters were measured and in this case, the content of cholesterol and triacylglycerols was determined in the liver, as well as the expression (RNA) of different enzymes involved in its metabolism.

TRANSNATIONAL EUROPEAN SOLIDARITY SURVEY (TESS) – INFORMATION RELATED TO SCIENTIFICALLY INFORMED SOLIDARITY AND UNIVERSAL ACCESS TO HEALTH

  • Botton, Lena de
  • Ramos Lobo, Raúl
  • Soler Gallart, Marta
  • Suriñach Caralt, Jordi
Transnational European Solidarity Survey (TESS) is part of a joint venture between two research groups: the international research project SOLIDUS. Solidarity in Europe: Empowerment, Social Justice and Citizenship, funded by the European Commission through the Horizon2020 research programme, (Grant Agreement no. 649489) and the German DFG Research Unit Horizontal Europeanization, funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) (FOR 1539). The survey was conducted in the summer and autumn of 2016 in 13 European countries using computer-assisted telephone interviews. This dataset includes only the variables and observations used in the article “Scientifically Informed Solidarity: Changing Anti-Immigrant Prejudice About Universal Access to Health” by Lena De Botton; Raul Ramos; Marta Soler-Gallart; and Jordi Suriñach, accepted for publication in Sustainability. In particular, there is information about 11029 individuals and 13 variables related to socio-demographic characteristics and views on immigrants access to health care services
