SUPPLEMENTAL DATA OF: PERCEIVE WP2: EVALUATION OF EU CITIZENS’ PERCEPTION OF THE EU PROJECT: KEY VARIABLES FOR CITIZENS' IDENTIFICATION WITH EU - DATASETS - PART B
- Calia, Pinuccia
- López-Bazo, Enrique
- Moreno Serrano, Rosina
- Royuela Mora, Vicente
- Suriñach Caralt, Jordi
This dataset refers to PERCEIVE tasks 2.4 and 2.5. These tasks analyze the data sets developed by PERCEIVE task 2.1 in order to identify, quantify and synthetize the most important variables to asses identification with EU by citizens. The results feed an update of the data set developed in task 2.1. Finally, these data is be used to model convergence of EU citizens' identification in the case study regions.
Data consists of the quantitative statistical information used to produce all the results of WP2 and the indicators regarding the variables of interest obtained by means of different statistical techniques. Moreover, data on absorption of EU funds, provided by the EC and other research centres and collected in task 2.5, is be gathered in this data set, together with the results of convergence analysis.
This data set is be used to evaluate the EU citizens’ perception of the EU project in relation to regional performance of the cohesion policy and institutional quality.
WP2 uses primary data from the survey developed in WP1 (“PERCEIVE: WP1: Framework for comparative analysis of the perception of Cohesion Policy and identification with the European Union at citizen level in different European countries: Task1.3: Survey at citizen level” data set) and also comparative case studies on EU countries and regions, coming also from WP1 (”PERCEIVE: WP1: Framework for comparative analysis of the perception of Cohesion Policy and identification with the European Union at citizen level in different European countries: Task1.1: The framework for the comparative analysis” and ”PERCEIVE: WP1: Framework for comparative analysis of the perception of Cohesion Policy and identification with the European Union at citizen level in different European countries: Task1.2: Focus group with Cohesion Policy practitioners” data sets). The data set incorporates data from existing sources including Eurostat and information resulting from the Survey conducted at WP1 of the PERCEIVE’s project. As regards secondary data, no additional treatment is needed. Info about the sources of such data, including references to technical details, is provided in the dataset's codebook.

NEVER FORGET THE PULMONARY PATHOLOGY OF MYCOBACTERIUM BOVIS IN THE ALPACA (VICUGNA PACOS)!

- Sánchez-Cordón, Pedro J.
- Spiropoulos, John
- Schock, Alex
- Vidaña, Beatriz
Tuberculosis due to Mycobacterium bovis is rarely reported in alpacas and other South American camelids (SACs) in South America. In contrast, SACs show a high susceptibility when reared in other parts of the world, suggesting that different environmental, climatic and rearing conditions along with the associated stress may lead to an increased disease transmission in these species.1 In particular, SACs might act as reservoir host of the disease and infected SACs might pose a risk of M. bovis transmission to other species including humans.1 Taking these aspects into account, we believe there is a need for more extensive and systematic studies of the pathology of M. bovis in SACs.
Given these considerations, veterinary practitioners dealing with alpacas (or SACs) should be aware of the clinic-pathological presentations of tuberculosis. The clinical signs are variable and non-specific, and may include malaise, ill-thrift and respiratory signs. Post-mortem lesions are predominantly found in the lungs and associated lymph nodes, but can also be found in other tissues including the liver, kidney and other lymph nodes.2 Typically, multiple randomly distributed nodules with necro-suppurative cavitations are detected in the pleura and pulmonary parenchyma.1, 2 As in the present case, these lesions may also affect the pericardium and the thoracic wall and are usually accompanied by a marked lymphadenomegaly (Figure 1). Histopathological evaluation reveals areas of necrosis surrounded by a fibro-histiocytic response. However, typical multinucleated giant cell response and dystrophic mineralisation are not common histological features (Figure 2). Generally, there are several intralesional bacilli (Figure 3). In the present case, M. bovis was isolated and identified by standard bacteriological techniques., Peer reviewed

DATASET OF THE RETAILING LOCATION NETWORKS IN THE CITIES OF CASTILE-LEON, MADRID AND BARCELONA
- Sánchez Saiz, Rosa María
- Ahedo García, Virginia
- Santos Martín, José Ignacio
- Gómez, Sergio
- Galán Ordax, José Manuel
The dataset is made up of eleven networks, one corresponding to each city (Madrid, Barcelona, Valladolid, Burgos, Salamanca, León, Palencia, Zamora, Ávila, Segovia and Soria). The nodes represent retail stores listed in the Yellow Pages. Each node contains the category code to which they are classified according to 68 codes of The North American Industry Classification System for small businesses (NAICS). There is a link between both nodes if the stores are within a linear distance of 100 meters., Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities (excellence networks HAR2017-90883-REDC and RED2018?102518?T, and project PGC2018-094754-B-C21), the Junta de Castilla y León - Consejería de Educación through BDNS 425389 and the predoctoral grant awarded to Virginia Ahedo (supported by the European Social Fund), the Generalitat de Catalunya through grant 2017SGR-896 and the Universitat Rovira i Virgili through grant 2019PFR-URV-B2-41
