Objectives: This article analyses the extent to which the legal framework for prostitution can influence the moral judgments individuals make about purchasing sex. We hypothesize that the decriminalization of prostitution (versus the criminalization of purchasing sexual services) increases the acceptability of buying sex. Methods: To test this hypothesis we conduct a factorial survey experiment (FSE) for a Spanish sample. Various descriptions (vignettes) of hypothetical scenarios regarding prostitution in Spain were presented to the respondents to elicit them to form judgements about the acceptability of purchasing sexual services (by a man from a woman) in each of these scenarios. Results: From the analysis carried out with multilevel models, robust and causal empirical evidence was obtained in favor of this hypothesis. This result was moderated by some of the contextual variables presented in the vignettes and by some personal characteristics of the respondents. Conclusions: Different legal approaches to the sex industry can influence attitudes towards purchasing sexual services

STUDY ON TAX INCIDENCE [DATASET]

  • Ramos Medina, Sonia Elizabeth
[EN]This database was compiled for use in a study on tax incidence. The research was carried out using the Web of Science (WoS) and Scopus databases and considers the period 1980-2020. This set would initially include articles that described or evaluated the tax incidence in any area, for which areas that are not eligible for the sample have been excluded from the analysis: Engineering, Arts and Humanities, History and Life Sciences., The information used in our study is: (1) Citation information; (2) Bibliographic information; (3) Abstract and keywords; (4) Financing details; (5) Other information.

Objective: the objective is to determine reported cases of co-creation methodology about the use of smart technologies in public spaces in order to create new forms of social interactions and practices, which in turn creates new socio-spatial relations and promotes interactions and communication between isolated and disperse communities. Material and Methods: the literature published in the last 5 years (2016-2020) has been reviewed. Searches on Co-creation methodology and ICTs in Health and Biomedicine, on topics such as interaction among users, ICT and social behaviour, spatial analyses, planning methodologies and public involvement, on-line gaming, self‐learning, and the prevention of risky habbits are made manually. Results: search strategies developed through electronic databases and manual search identified a total of 180 references, included in the supplementary material. They have been divided by the technologies used in the studies, co-creation methodology, and according to the type of socio-medical application. This research highlights the penetration of ICT in social and healthcare environments and clearly demonstrates the high number of publications that have come out over recent years and a lack of publications that evaluate co-creation methodology in this field. Conclusions: most of the papers included only partially cover the subject matter of ICT in Health and Biomedicine and how to use smart technologies to transform public spaces in small communities into people-friendly human environments. The research carried out for this paper clearly demonstrates the high number of publications concerning technology assessment. However, there is a distinct lack of publications that evaluate co-creation methodology [Dataset].

[EN] The RILEM Technical Committee 261-CCF launched in 2015 an international Round-Robin Test (RRT) program to improve the knowledge on the long-term behaviour of cracked Fibre Reinforced Concrete (FRC) sections and assess all the different testing methodologies available. The participation of 19 international laboratories performing creep test following different methodologies in compliance with previously agreed conditions contributed to the success of the RRT. A convention regarding the data collection during the RRT was established to simplify the analysis of results. The RRT provided an extensive database of results from tests performed according to similar procedures and conditions agreed beforehand by the participants. More than 150 parameters and variables were defined and registered during the RRT realisation for each specimen. The long-term tests performed on 124 specimens for one year following four main creep methodologies provided a huge database with more than 15000 data. The analysis of this RRT should support the future proposal of standard test procedures and conditions, defining common criteria for future experimental programs for each test method as well as validation of models to consider creep in the design of FRC structures. The database of the RRT is offered open access to the scientific community as supplementary material of the Round-Robin Test State-of-the-Art Report published by Springer in the RILEM State-of-the-Art Reports series to improve the global knowledge in the long-term deformations of the cracked FRC specimens., This Round-Robin Test (RRT) has been supported by the fibre suppliers Master Builders Solutions (BASF), BEKAERT and ArcelorMittal Fibres. The RRT organizers wish to thank their financial support in the fabrication and delivery of the specimens all over the world. The RRT organizers gratefully thank to the following institutions their participation on this international experimental programme: Universitat Politècnica de València UPV, Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya UPC, OTH Regensburg, Master Builders Solutions (BASF), LEMIT-CIC and Facultad de Ingeniería UNLP, Indian Institute of Technology Madras IITM, NV BEKAERT SA, Tohoku University, ArcelorMittal Fibres, BBRI Belgium Building Research Institute, University of Bologna, Universidade Federal de Rio de Janeiro, École Polytechnique de Montréal, Politecnico di Milano, Sigma Béton, CETU Centre for Tunnel Studies, MEDDE, Stellenbosch University, TSE Technologies in Structural Engineering and VSH VersuchsStollen Hagerbach. The contribution of all TC members and external attendees during both face-to-face and on-line meetings as well as their proposals for the RRT experimental program, their contribution in both the book and the database, and the review of the many drafts of this database is greatly acknowledge. Last but not least, the TC chairman wish to thank to the RILEM Association their guidance during the Technical Committee lifetime and their support for the publication of the different works authored by the TC.
