INFORMATION GUIDE ON VACCINATION & VACCINATION HESITANCY

INTELLECTUAL OUTPUT 1

  • IENE 11 team from the partner countries
main goal of the project “IENE11- Empowering nurses and healthcare professionals to promote vaccination and tackle vaccine hesitancy- PROVAC project” is to increase the level of knowledge on vaccine and vaccination of the healthcare professionals and support them to promote vaccination and tackle with vaccine hesitancy by provision of reliable, trustful and up-to-date information sources on vaccine and vaccination, by creating information tools addressing people coming from disadvantaged groups and people that are more vaccine hesitant to help them get better informed, overcome their fears and strengthening confidence in vaccines. Under this general aim, the aims of the Intellectual Output 1 (IO1) were to collect current understanding on the knowledge on vaccine and vaccination of general people and the way that healthcare professionals can be supported to promote vaccination and tackle with vaccine hesitancy by provision of reliable, trustful and up-to- date information sources on vaccine and vaccination. In other words, the aim of the IO1 of this project was the creation of a compendium of valuable and trustful informative sources on different issues of vaccination and immunization, promoting vaccination and tackle vaccine hesitancy. Decision-making on having or not a vaccination has been found related to individuals’ education, emotional response, understanding, personal values, culture, and social norms. During the Covid-19 pandemic, vaccination rates have been found lower among people belonging to racial/ethnic minority populations and other underserved and socioeconomically disadvantaged groups. In addition, misinformation about COVID-19 and the vaccines has been easily accessible in many languages creating an urgency for health campaigns to face misinformation with factual, culturally and linguistically appropriate messaging. Health care professionals should be able to deal with ethical concerns for example those related to the use of fetal cell lines in some vaccines. The vaccination for Covid-19 is not the only case. It could be considered the tip of the iceberg, which is visible because of the pandemic. Thus, this information guide includes informative sources in four languages (EL, EN, ES, RO), referring to all types of vaccines. This information guide is a tool to be used not only by the general population, but also by health professionals, as their advice is very important for people to decide whether to accept vaccines.

Purpose - Consumer affinity may be a key factor in overcoming ethnocentric barriers and promoting a favourable attitude towards specific foreign countries and their products. However, progress in knowledge of this concept in international marketing literature has suffered from a lack of integration and analysis. The purpose of this study was to shed new light on the concept of consumer affinity based on a comprehensive systematic review of the literature, provide a critical analysis of previous research in terms of conceptual, methodological and substantive issues and problems, and offer avenues for future research. Design/methodology/approach – This structured systematic review of consumer affinity included articles published in international peer-reviewed journals from 2008 to 2021, examining key conceptual, operational and substantive aspects. Findings - This systematic review of articles on consumer affinity published over the past 14 years revealed that this line of research is a growing vibrant domain in the context of international marketing. It also showed that current knowledge of consumer affinity is characterized by theoretical inconsistencies, contradictory empirical results and scant international marketing research in the affinity domain. Originality – This article provides an overview of extant literature on consumer affinity and yields a consolidated image of its current status, as well as a research agenda that raises new questions for the academic community.

AN EXCEL-BASED CALCULATOR OF HEART RATE ZONES ACCORDING TO THE KARVONEN FORMULA

  • Martínez Rosales, Elena
  • Hernández Martínez, Alba María
  • Soriano Maldonado, Alberto
  • García Artero, Enrique
An excel-based sheet to calculate training zones and heart rate intensity according to the Karvonen formula (1). The user will download the heart rate data second-by-second from the device (ej.: Polar, Garmin, FitBit…). After providing the participant's maximum heart rate (maxHR) and resting heart rate (resting HR), the user will be able to set the different work zones according to their preferences using the heart rate reserve (%HRR). Once these data are entered, the excel will return the time (hh:mm:ss and % format) that the person has been working in the different zones according to Karvonen's formula. In addition, it includes Tanaka's formula (2) to calculate the maxHR in case it is not known by the user. (1) Karvonen, M. J., Kentala, E., and Mustala, O. (1957). DATA FOR EFFECT OF REPLACING FISHMEAL WITH PLUKENETIA VOLUBILIS CAKE ON GROWTH, DIGESTIVE ENZYMES, AND BODY COMPOSITION IN WHITELEG SHRIMP (LITOPENAEUS VANNAMEI

  • Renteria, Patricio
  • Sánchez-Muros Lozano, María José
Abstract: A feeding trial was carried out on a shrimp farm located in the Santa Rosa province of El Oro, Ecuador, with four isonitrogenous and isolipidic experimental diets, designed with increasing levels of substitution of fish meal by P. voluvilis, (D-0), 15% (D-15), 25% (D-25), and 50% (D-50). The obtained results indicated that the 50% replacement with P. volubilis in practical diets had no noticeable negative effects on the growth performance of L. vanameii juveniles. The total weight of shrimps fed with 25% and 50% diets (16.04 g and 16.72 g, respectively) and the abdomen weight (10.32 g) of shrimps fed with the D-50 diet were high, with significant differences regarding those fed with the D-0 diet. No adverse effects on muscle composition were found. Significant differences were observed only in groups D-25 (for chymotrypsin) and D-50 (chymotrypsin and alkaline protease). Trypsin and amylase activity was not affected by the inclusion of P. volubilis. The results of this experiment indicated that P. volubilis cake is a possible alternative to fish meal in shrimp feeding; however, it should be studied in more depth to establish the maximum replacement percentage and to identify the adequate treatments to eliminate antinutritional factors.
