LEGITIMACY OF EXISTENCE. KEYS TO SURVIVAL OF MICROENTERPRISES [DATASET]

  • Díez de Castro, Emilio Pablo
  • Vázquez-Sánchez, Adolfo
The legitimacy of microenterprises has not been analyzed because their small size and the simplicity of their management, however, their global importance and their role in the economic system make them worthy of more attention. Many microenterprises consolidate over time and survive above the theoretical barrier of 15 years, which is a proof of legitimacy. To find out the legitimacy of micro-enterprises and to know what are the dimensions on which they are based, a survey was carried out aimed at microenterprises that have survived for 20 years or more. The total number of valid responses was 156 surveys (43.09%). The definition of constructs with legitimacy and its dimensions was carried out according to the typology of Díez-Martín et al. (2021) using a 7-point Likert scale from 1 (totally disagree) to 7 (totally agree). The responses of microenterprises with more than 20 years of existence, companies whose survival guarantees their legitimacy, were analyzed by PLS-SEM using SmartPLS 3.3.6 software.

A CFD mesh corresponding to a Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell (PEMFC) with an active área of 50 cm2, serpentine channels and cross-flow field distribution is presented. The mesh was developed using ANSYS ICEM CFD Hexa (v12.0) and it is divided into 3D regions corresponding to the different components of the fuel cell: bipolar plates (anode and cathode), gas difusión layers (GDLs), catalytic layers ((CLs) and membrane. The mesh was generated following Best Practice Guidelines. Mesh independence results was checked in the corresponding CFD model and simulation of a experimental fuel cell ANSYS FLUENT with the PEM Fuel Cell module. Simulation results were also validated with the experimental data available from a fuel cell test bench for a set of different operating conditions. • Egea Gutiérrez-Cortines, Marcos
The combination of computer vision devices such as multispectral cameras coupled with Artificial Intelligence has provided a major leap forward in image-based analysis of biological processes. Supervised Artificial Intelligence algorithms require large ground truth image datasets for model training, which allows to validate or refute research hypotheses and to carry out comparisons between models. However, public datasets of images are scarce and ground truth images are surprisingly few considering the numbers required for training algorithms. We created a dataset of 1283 multidimensional arrays, using berries from five different grape varieties. Each array has 37 images of wavelengths between 488.38nm and 952.76nm obtained from single berries. Coupled to each multispectral image we added a dataset with measurements including, weight, anthocyanin content and Brix index for each independent grape. Thus, the images have paired measures creating a ground truth dataset. We tested the dataset with two neural network algorithms: multilayer perceptron (MLP), three-dimensional convolutional neural network (3D-CNN). A perfect (100% accuracy) classification model was fit with either the MLP or 3D-CNN algorithms. This is the first public dataset of grape ground truth multispectral images. Associated with each multispectral image there are measures of the weight, anthocyanins, and Brix index. The dataset should be useful to develop deep learning algorithms for classification, dimensionality reduction, regression, and prediction analysis.

SHIPSAFE-TERMONTO DATASET

CONJUNTO DE DATOS DE LA TÉRMINO-ONTOLOGÍA SHIPSAFE

  • Losey León, María Araceli
SHIPSAFE-Termonto dataset is a database that collects the ontological representation and organisation of a corpus-based terminological database on shipboard life-saving appliances. This is a subdomain of a broader topic area, maritime safety. The dataset has been used to develop a term-ontographic resource, ShipSafe: A Termontological E-Glossary of the Life-Saving Appliances Aboard a Ship (English-Spanish), Glossary, that offers a digital approach and an application of language technologies to specialised communication. Its theoretical-methodological foundations are the Communicative Theory of Terminology (Cabre, 1999) and The Function Theory of Lexicography (Bergenholtz y Tarp, 2002). The empirical study was focused on one of the lines of enquiry of Natural Language Processing for terminography, the application of ontologies concerned with terminological resources. The research methodology for data analysis was mainly guided by the extraction of knowledge patterns and by a combination of a top-down and a bottom-up approach. As the term-ontology is of a terminological and domain type, the nouns are the only part of speech that SHIPSAFE contains. SHIPSAFE is intended to supply the terminology needs of professionals of the maritime sector, in general, and of language specialists, in particular, such as specialised translators and interpreters, linguists, technical writers, ESP teachers, researchers and students of Maritime English and of anyone interested in maritime terminology in English and Spanish languages. It shows authentic samples of language use extracted from an ad hoc parallel corpus ShipSAFE, which was specially compiled and is divided into an English subcorpus, ShipSAFE-EN, which contains 29 documents and 65 600 running words, and a Spanish subcorpus ShipSAFE-ES, with 23 documents and 42 650 running words. The chronological period covered by the corpus documents extends from 1980 to 2021. ShipSafe attemps to offer a macrostructural design that illustrates the conceptual organisation of the life-saving appliances’ subdomain and a microstructural design of the term entry that allows for a clear, complete and precise portrait of the term in context in English and Spanish. Besides, by singling up the essential terms in this sub-domain, teachers of specialised languages in this field can be oriented towards which terms to teach in the English for Specific Purposes’ classes. Furthermore, the teachers can exploit the material for the contrastive study of the language or for other pedagogical purposes., If you use this dataset, please cite the following references as follows: Losey-León, M.-A.
