A WOOD CHARCOAL REFERENCE COLLECTION FOR THE ANTHRACOLOGY OF THE NORTHERN HIGHLANDS OF ETHIOPIA
- Ruiz-Giralt, Abel
- Bouchaud, Charlène
- Salavert, Aurélie
- Lancelotti, Carla
- D'Andrea, A. Catherine
Here, we present a wood charcoal reference collection for anthracological analyses in the Highlands of Ethiopia. Available plant species and genus were selected according to their importance in the different vegetation types present in the northern Highlands of Ethiopia following the information published by Friis et al. (2010) and their availability in the Museum National d'Histoire Naturelle collections at Paris. It contains pictures of the cross, radial and tangential sections, as well as anatomical descriptions following the terminology proposed by the International Association of Wood Anatomists.

[SUPPLEMENTARY MATERIALS] FARMING THE WORLD'S DRYLANDS: ETHNOGRAPHIC-BASED MODELS HIGHLIGHT THE KEY ROLE OF TRADITIONAL KNOWLEDGE FOR SUSTAINABLE FOOD PRODUCTION
- Ruiz-Giralt, Abel
- Biagetti, Stefano
- Madella, Marco
- Lancelotti, Carla
The present documents are the primary data used on the paper in preparation "Farming the World's drylands: ethnographic-based models highlight the key role of traditional knowledge for sustainable food production": 1) SI Dataset S1(SI1-eHRAF-dataset.csv): Full cross-cultural dataset, according to the data provided by eHRAF and added external sources, on traditional cultivation practices of finger millet, pearl millet and sorghum worldwide. Data has been normalised according to the Standard Cross-Cultural Sample Codebook (3).
2) SI Dataset S2 (SI2-interviews.csv): Data resulting form the ethnographic interviews, processed and normalized according to the Standard Cross-Cultural Sample Codebook (3).

SOUTH AMERICAN ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITES AND DATES
- Gregorio de Souza, Jonas
This dataset contains 2762 radiocarbon dates from 1023 archaeological sites in lowland South America. In principle, only archaeological cultures related to the spread of polyculture agroforestry (tropical forest farming) and ceramics are represented. The dataset has been compiled and is continuously updated as part of the project ExPaND: Examining Pan-Neotropical funded by the European Commission H2020.

- Arnaiz González, Alvar
429 phytolith images of eight different morphotypes (bilobate, bulliform, cross, elongate, globular, rondel/trapeziform, saddle, trichome) from soil samples used in a comparative analysis of six classification methods to examine the efficacy of different quantitative approaches for characterising phytoliths and automatically identify them. These data are the supplementary materials of the paper: Díez-Pastor, J., Latorre-Carmona, P., Arnaiz-González, Á, Ruiz-Pérez, J., & Zurro, D. REPLICATION DATA FOR: 'DO DEEPFAKES ADEQUATELY DISPLAY EMOTIONS? A STUDY ON DEEPFAKE FACIAL EMOTION EXPRESSION'
- García, Roberto
- López-Gil, Juan-Miguel
- Gil, Rosa
Recent technological advancements in Artificial Intelligence make it easy to create deepfakes, hyper-realistic videos in which images and video clips are processed to create fake videos that appear authentic. Many of them are based on swapping faces without the consent of the person whose appearance and voice are used. As emotions are inherent in human communication, studying how deepfakes transfer emotional expressions from original to fakes is relevant. In this work, we conduct an in-depth study on facial emotional expression in deepfakes using a well-known face swap-based deepfake database. First, we extracted the photograms from their videos. Then, we analyzed the emotional expression in both the original and the faked versions of the video recordings for all performers in the database. Results show that emotional expressions are not adequately transferred between original recordings and the deepfakes created from them. The high variability in emotions and performers detected between original and fake recordings indicates that performer emotion expressiveness should be considered for better deepfake generation or for detecting them.
