Mauerer, I. & Tutz, G. (2023). "Replication Data for: Vote Choices and Valence: Intercepts and Alternate Specifications", Harvard Dataverse, V1. https://doi.org/10.7910/DVN/SKWTGS, Valence is a crucial concept in studying spatial voting and party competition. The widely adopted approach is to rely on intercepts of vote choice models and to infer, based on their size and direction, how valence affects party strategies in empirical settings. The approach suffers from fundamental statistical flaws. This contribution provides the statistical fundamentals to advance the empirical modeling of valence. It proposes an appropriate modeling approach to interpret intercepts as valences and alternate specifications to parametrize the effects of valence., EMERGIA, Junta de Andalucia

Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD) is among the most prevalent mental illnesses, and due to the low efficacy of the current medication, it is essential to find new biological targets that could modulate alcohol consumption. Since Galanin (1− 15) [GAL(1− 15)] produces a loss of motivational behaviour by an artificial reinforcer and decreases the preference an alcohol consumption in a voluntary alcohol intake, we have studied the role of GAL(1− 15) in alcohol-seekingbehaviourandtheinvolvementofthecorticomesolimbicsystemaswellastheroleofGAL(1− 15) in context-induced alcohol relapse. In rats, we have studied GAL(1− 15)-effects on alcohol-seeking in self- administration, in fixed-ratio (FR1) and progressive-ratio (PR), and the involvement of GAL receptors using siRNA GALR1 or GALR2 knockdown animals. We have analysed the transcriptional changes of C-Fos, dopamine receptors, GAL receptors and 5HT1A receptors in the corticomesolimbic system. Also, we have examined the effect of GAL(1− 15) in context-induced alcohol relapse. GAL(1− 15) substantially reduced alcohol-seeking behaviour in the operant self-administration model in an FR1 protocol and at the breaking point in a PR schedule. GALR1and GALR2 were involved in these effects, as indicated by the analysis by GALR2 antagonist and GALR1 and GALR2 knockdown animals. Notably, the mechanism of GAL(1− 15)-mediated actions involved changes in C-Fos, Dopamine receptors and 5HT1A expression in the ventral tegmental area, accumbens nucleus and prefrontal cortex. Significantly, GAL(1− 15) reduced the context-induced alcohol relapse. These results open up the possibility to use GAL(1− 15) as a novel strategy in AUD., This work was supported by grants awarded by Spanish Ministry of Economy PID2020-114392RB-100, PDC2021-121566-100 and by Junta de Andalucía P20-00026-R and PI-0083-2019

DATASET: DEM-AIA INCLINATION-AWARE PATH PLANNING DATA AND MATLAB TOOLS FOR OFF-ROAD UGVS.

This package provides the DEM-AIA (Digital Elevation Map – Any-Angle Inclination-Aware) trajectory planner for unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs). The planner computes feasible and efficient trajectories over digital elevation models (DEMs), explicitly considering: - Terrain slopes (pitch and roll). - Vehicle dynamic and geometric constraints (speed, center of gravity, length, width, slope tolerance). - Any-angle variant of the A* algorithm for more realistic and shorter paths. - Optional heuristic search and node re-expansion. The distribution includes both synthetic and real DEMs, MATLAB source code, precompiled MEX binaries, and a test script., Metadata: - Application domain: Off-road robotics, terrain-aware trajectory planning. - Data type: Digital Elevation Models (DEMs). - Format: MATLAB .mat. - Spatial resolution: depends on the selected DEM. - Units: meters (altitude and coordinates). - Restrictions: Distributed MEX files only run on MATLAB R2021b (Windows x64). Recompilation is required for other versions or platforms., Planning safe and effective trajectories for off-road unmanned ground vehicles (UGV) is a critical Artificial Intelligence (AI) challenge that can benefit from recent advances in digital elevation models (DEM) for readily capturing accurate terrain geometry. Considering path slopes is crucial to preserve stability and assess terrain traversability at feasible speeds to optimize travel time, which is highly dependent on direction (i.e., pitch and roll). In this article, we propose a new DEM-based asymmetric inclination-aware (DEM-AIA) trajectory planner for ground vehicles. The planner is an any-angle variant of the A algorithm that computes pitch and roll estimations for each segment crossing cell triangles in the line-of-sight. Furthermore, we define a non-linear velocity constraints function that integrates information about tip-over safety limitations, maximum uphill and downhill slopes for the vehicle, and asymmetric modulation of nominal flat-ground velocity for all pitch and roll combinations. The planner produces a time sub-optimal trajectory with feasible speed references for each segment crossing a cell triangle. Moreover, we provide an extensive experimental analysis of inclination-aware performance on simulated and real-world DEMs as well as a comparison with state-of-the-art path planners adapted to travel-time optimization. An executable version of the planner with parameterizable variations is publicly available.

DATASET FOR: PROPOSAL AND IMPLEMENTATION OF A PROCEDURE FOR COMPLIANCE RECOGNITION OF OBJECTS WITH SMART TACTILE SENSORS

  • Lora Rivera, Raúl
  • Oballe-Peinado, Óscar
  • Vidal-Verdú, Fernando
PID2021-125091OB-I00, Smart tactile sensors provide the raw moments of the tactile image when the object is squeezed and desqueezed. A set of simple parameters from moment-versus-time graphs are proposed as features, to build the input vector of a classifier. The extraction of these features was implemented in the field programmable gate array (FPGA) of a system on chip (SoC), while the classifier was implemented in its ARM core. Many different options were realized and analyzed, depending on their complexity and performance in terms of resource usage and accuracy of classification. A classification accuracy of over 94% was achieved for a set of 42 different classes., Spanish Government with a Formación de Profesorado Universitario (FPU) Grant given by the Ministerio de Ciencia, Innovación y Universidades, European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) Program Funds

DATASET ORBITRAP RAW-DATA STRESS HYPOTHALAMUS(1H-24H)

  • Infantes-López, M. Inmaculada
  • Nieto-Quero, Andrea
  • Pérez-Martín, Margarita
  • Pedraza-Benítez, María del Carmen
We have examined the effect of an acute stress in the proteomic profile of hypothalamus. For this purpose, to extract information from proteomic profiles (1 and 24 hours post-acute stress) a Quadrupole-Orbitrap mass spectrometry (Q-Orbitrap-MS) was used for the massive identification and quantification of hypothalamic proteins. After collecting the raw data extracted from this technique, for each proteomic profile, a functional enrichment study was performed. Firstly, the significantly overexpressed and underexpressed hypothalamic proteins of the right hemisphere of experimental groups with their respective controls (stress/control) were selected. Then, using STRING, the number of interactors was increased to 100 for both over- and under-expressed proteins. Furthermore, MCODE was used as a clustering tool for the protein‒protein interaction network obtained from STRING. After that, a functional enrichment analysis was performed using DAVID by introducing each protein gene name grouped into the clusters from the previous step. Biological processes in each protein clustering were determined as well as the function it is involved in. Finally, a network analysis of the GO terms obtained from DAVID was performed so that it was easier to interpret and integrate the biological implications of the results. Data were validate by using a western blot analysis. In the end, the main conclusion was that this short-term stressor altered the protein profile of the hypothalamus, changing the protein abundance after 1 hour or 24 hours of stress application., - Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación – Plan Nacional I+D+I from Spain (PID2020-117464RB-I00) to CP and MP-M; - FEDER/Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación – Agencia Estatal de Investigación Investigación from Spain (PSI2017-83408-P) to CP - FEDER/Junta de Andalucía – Proyectos I+D+I en el marco del Programa Operativo FEDER Andalucía 2014-2020 (UMA20-FEDERJA-112) to CP and MP-M - Consejería de Conocimiento, Investigación y Universidades, Junta de Andalucía (P20_00460) to CP. - Ministerio de Universidades from Spain: FPU16/05308 to AN-Q and FPU19/03629 to MII-L.
