REPLICATION DATA FOR MACHINE LEARNING FOR THE ANALYSIS OF HEALTHY LIFESTYLE DATA: A SCOPING REVIEW

  • Estrella, Tony
  • Capdevila, Lluís
  • Alfonso, Carla
  • Losilla, Josep-Maria
In this scoping review we searched primary studies in the 3 principal health databases: PubMed by National Centre by Biotechnology Information (NCBI), PsychINFO by ProQuest and Web of Science by Clarivate. The search strategy followed the Peer Review of Electronic Search Strategies (PRESS) (McGowan et al., 2016) and PRISMA for Searching (PRISMA-S) guidelines (Rethlefsen et al., 2021). It consisted of two groups of search terms referring to a) healthy lifestyle, and b) machine learning. We also added a third group of terms preceded by the boolean operator NOT to improve the specificity of the search strategy. The research was applied in January 2023, being restricted only by language (English and Spanish), with no restriction placed by years of publication.

ESCOLA - SPANISH CORPUS OF LINGUISTIC ACCEPTABILITY

  • Bel, Núria
  • Punsola, Marta
  • Ruiz-Fernández, Valle
Acceptability is one of the General Language Understanding Evaluation Benchmark (GLUE) probing tasks proposed to assess the linguistic capabilities acquired by a deep-learning transformer-based language model (LM). In this paper, we introduce the Spanish Corpus of Linguistic Acceptability EsCoLA. EsCoLA has been developed following the example of other linguistic acceptability data sets for English, Italian, Norwegian or Russian, with the aim of having a complete GLUE benchmark for Spanish. EsCoLA consists of 11,174 sentences and their acceptability judgements as found in well-known Spanish reference grammars. Additionally, all sentences have been annotated with the class of linguistic phenomenon the sentence is an example of, also following previous practices. We also provide as task baselines the results of fine-tuning four different language models with this data set and the results of a human annotation experiment. The results are also analyzed and commented to guide future research.

REPLICATION DATA FOR: ARCHAEOBOTANICAL AND ZOOARCHAEOLOGICAL (LARGE MAMMAL BONE, SHELL AND FISH REMAINS) DATA FROM THE ‘PALACE AND LANDSCAPE AT PALAIKASTRO’ (PALAP) EXCAVATION PROJECT, CRETE, GREECE

  • Livarda, Alexandra
  • Tzevelekidi, Vasiliki
  • Veropoulidou, Rena
  • Marlasca Martín, Ricard
The dataset presented here includes four .csv files with primary archaeobotanical, large mammal bone, mollusc and fish remains data, recovered during the PALAP project at Palaikastro, east Crete, Greece, between 2013 and 2015. The data describe bioarchaeological remains from the south-east sector of the Bronze Age town at Palaikastro, recovered with systematic sampling and employing flotation, dry-sieving and hand collection. All remains were identified and quantified using established methodologies and were then stored at the premises of the British School at Athens in Crete (Ayios Antonios centre, Palaikastro). The dataset will be of use to archaeologists working in the Aegean and beyond and can contribute to key debates related to the Bronze Age, such as the emergence and economic organisation of urban centres.

These files contain the raw data corresponding to a different set of studies aimed at exploring whether functional neuronal connectivity between two brain areas is necessary in one sex but not the other. Experiments include: chemogenetic silencing of centromedial (CeM)-Tac2 fibers in the lateral posterior BNST (BNSTpl) and fear memory consolidation in male and female mice, optogenetic excitation of CeM-Tac2 fibers in the BNSTpl and inhibitory postsynaptic currents in male and female mice, in vivo calcium imaging in the BNSTpl, study in humans of the single-nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) in the Tac2 receptor (rs2765) (TAC3R) and associated decreased CeM-BNST connectivity in a fear task, and impaired fear memory consolidation and increased the expression of the TAC3R mRNA in AA-carrier men but not in women. These data show sex differences in critical neuronal circuits underlying fear memory formation may be relevant to human neuropsychiatric disorders with fear memory alterations such as posttraumatic stress disorder.

METHODOLOGICAL VIDEOGRAPHY OF BIRD BUTCHERY: REPLICATING EARLY HUMAN TECHNIQUES IN EXPERIMENTAL ARCHAEOLOGY

  • Nabais, Mariana
  • Rufà, Anna
This dataset encompasses the presentation of five raw video recordings, wherein Anna Rufà and Mariana Nabais engage in the processing of five bird specimens. These activities are designed to replicate the potential butchery movements executed by early humans. The selected species for this experimental endeavour include Corvus corone (Carrion Crow), Columba palumbus (Wood Pigeon), and Streptopelia decaocto (Collared Dove).
The avian specimens were obtained from the Wildlife Ecology, Rehabilitation, and Surveillance Centre (CERVAS), affiliated with the ICNF Serra da Estrela Natural Park, situated in Gouveia, Portugal. These specimens succumbed to natural causes within the confines of the rehabilitation centre, were subjected to veterinary examinations, and subsequently preserved through freezing for the purposes of scientific inquiry post-mortem. The specimens were thawed 24 hours in advance of the experimental procedures to ensure their resemblance to their natural, raw state in terms of texture and appearance.
To elucidate the array of potential dietary practices among early humans, two birds (Birds 1 and 2) were processed in their raw state, while the remaining three (Birds 3, 4, and 5) underwent processing post-roasting.
Bird 1, a Streptopelia decaocto, was processed in its raw form by Anna Rufà on November 6, 2023. Similarly, Bird 2, a Corvus corone, was also processed in its raw state by Mariana Nabais on the same date. Birds 3 and 4, Streptopelia decaocto and Corvus corone respectively, were roasted prior to processing by Anna Rufà on November 8, 2023. Lastly, Bird 5, a Columba palumbus, was roasted and then processed by Mariana Nabais on November 8, 2023. This methodological approach aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the diverse potential consumption practices of Neanderthals, as reflected through the experimental processing of these avian specimens.
The provided recordings are unedited and were captured using a Nikon D5300 camera alongside an iPhone 11 and an Android Pixel 4a. These videos serve as a preliminary archival resource, preserving the methodology and specific procedural steps for future scholarly reference and the facilitation of experimental reproducibility.
