Is Supplement To: Mauerer, I., Puy, M. S. & Urzay-Gómez, S. (2025). "Explaining Preferences for EU Integration: Theory and Empirical Evidence". European Economic Review 176.doi: 10.1016/j.euroecorev.2025.105038, We present and empirically test a model that explains how European citizens form their preferences for integration, which is crucial for understanding the public support for EU advancement. The model incorporates varying levels of information and awareness of how EU legislation impacts national politics as well as economic considerations. The empirical results indicate that European citizens tend to be aware of the interplay between EU laws and national legislation. We reach this conclusion by showing that further EU integration is supported by citizens who believe EU legislation amends their national policies. By contrast, Euroscepticism emerges among citizens who perceive the EU as interfering in their domestic politics. Our theory and empirical evidence suggest that citizens see EU legislation as correcting or undermining national politics, contrasting with other theories that directly link support for integration and Euroscepticism to left- and right-wing ideological orientations. This database is made up of EEG signals from 6 subjects listening to fragments of songs from different musical genres and their answers to the questions: did you know this song and do you like this song?. The musical genres chosen are: ballad, classic, metal and reggaeton. These signals have been captured with the BrainVision actiCHAMP-PLUS system and consist of a total of 64 EEG channels. The BrainVision Recorder software was used to store the signals. The stimulus presentation software used to design the experiment is Eprime 3. For more detailed information on this database, the capture system used and its applications, see [1]. PROGRAMA FLEX ISQUIOS EN PRIMARIA Y SECUNDARIA.

The purpose of this study was to research the effect of a stretching program on hamstring flexibility in schoolchildren from Primary and Secondary Education. Methods. For practical reasons and the nature of the present study (i.e. intervention focused on natural groups in a school setting) a cluster-randomized controlled design was used. Balanced by school and grades, natural classes were assigned randomly to form one of the following study groups: warm-up group (WUG), cool-down group (CDG), mix group (MXG) and non-stretching group (NSG). A total of 289 Primary and 99 Secundary schoolchildren were divided into four groups. The 3 EGs performed hamstring stretches for 4 minutes during each Physical Education class over a two-month period, 2 sessions per week (8 weeks, for a total of 16 PE sessions), with a stretch duration of 20 seconds, utilizing the static passive technique. The EG1 performed the stretching exercises during warm-up (4 minutes), the EG2 performed the stretching exercises during cool-down (4 minutes) and finally the EG3 performed the stretching exercises during warm-up (2 minutes) and cool-down (2 minutes) period. The control group followed the standard class program of PE classes. Hamstring flexibility was measured using the PSLR, PKEA and BS-SR test in a random order before and after the program. Finally, after two weeks without performing stretching exercises, a new measurement was taken with the aim of observing the levels of retention. The statistical significance level was set at p < 0.05. All statistical analyses were performed using SPSS version 25.0 for Windows (IBM® SPSS® Statistics). Conclusion. This study indicates that incorporating a static passive stretching program as part of Physical Education classes increases the ROM of the hamstrings in schoolchildren.

GALANIN(1− 15) AND NALTREXONE: A NOVEL APPROACH FOR ALCOHOL USE DISORDER IN RATS, INVOLVING THE MESOLIMBIC SYSTEM

Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD) is a highly prevalent psychiatric and represents a significant public health challenge. Naltrexone (NTX), a mu-opioid receptor antagonist widely used for AUD treatment, has limited efficacy due to side effects and variability in patient response. Interactions between the full-length GAL molecule and the opioid system have been demonstrated. In our recent studies, we showed that the Galanin (1− 15) fragment [GAL (1− 15)] decreased alcohol seeking along with alcohol consumption. This study aims to examine the effects of GAL(1− 15)+NTX on alcohol-seeking behavior and alcohol consumption, as well as the involvement of the mesolimbic system. In rats, we assessed GAL(1− 15)+NTX in reward-seeking and the role of GALR2 using the antagonist M871 in the self-administration test. In addition, GAL(1− 15)+NTX effects were studied on voluntary alcohol using the two-bottle choice paradigm. Locomotor activity and stereotyped behaviors, along with dopa- mine release in the dorsal striatum following alcohol injections, were assessed. Moreover, we have analyzed the transcriptional changes of C-Fos, MOR, POMPC, and dopamine receptors in the ventral tegmental area, nucleus accumbens and the hypothalamus. GAL(1− 15)+NTX combination reduced alcohol seeking in self-administration and two-bottle choice consumption, with GALR2 involved in the effect. In addition, GAL(1− 15)+NTX attenuated alcohol-induced locomotor activity and stereotyped behaviors linked to reduced dopamine release in the dorsal striatum. Notably, these effects were associated with C-Fos, MOR, and dopamine receptor changes, suggesting that the mesolimbic pathway, including the opioid system, is involved in GAL(1− 15)+NTX effects. These results open up the possibility of using GAL(1− 15) with NTX as a novel strategy in AUD.
