PREVALENCE OF ABNORMAL ALBUMINURIA AND MILDLY INCREASED ALBUMINURIA IN PEOPLE AGED 45 AND OVER IN A MEDITERRANEAN POPULATION WITH A STRATIFIED ANALYSIS FOR DIABETES AND HYPERTENSION

Background. Albuminuria is recognized as an early marker of kidney injury and an independent predictor of cardiovascular events. Yet the frequency of abnormal albuminuria (AA; UACR ≥ 30 mg/g) and mildly increased albuminuria (MIA; 10–29 mg/g) in Mediterranean populations is still poorly characterized. Methods. A cross-sectional, multicentre study including all urine albumin-to-creatinine ratio (UACR) and estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) records from July 1, 2021, to June 30, 2023, in individuals ≥ 45 years (23 860 adults [median age 64 years; 54 % women]) within a Health Management Area was done. We used KDIGO 2024 classification, adding a new sub-category for MIA. Prevalence with 95 % confidence intervals (CI) was calculated and stratified by sex, age, diabetes, and hypertension. Findings. The overall prevalence of AA was 9.2 % (95 % CI 8.8–9.6), higher in men (10.8 %) than in women (7.9 %) and rose steadily with age: 3.9 % (45–59 y), 8.5 % (60–74 y), and 18.1 % (≥ 75 y). AA reached 18.8 % among those with diabetes and 22.7 % in diabetes plus hypertension, versus 3.8 % in only hypertensive people, and 1.5 % without both conditions. An inverse relationship with kidney function was observed (4.0 % in stage G1 versus 55.2 % in G4–G5). MIA was present in 9.9 % (95 % CI 9.5–10.3), showing similar distribution patterns at lower magnitudes; a peak of 16.2 % occurred at eGFR 60–74 mL/ min/1.73 m², falling to 13.1 % in G4–G5. Interpretation. Abnormal and mildly increased albuminuria affect nearly one in five adults aged 45 and over in Mediterranean primary care. Given its strong association with age, diabetes, hypertension, and declining kidney function, systematic UACR screening- including for MIA- must be prioritized to enable early detection and intervention., Yes

DATASET OF EVALUATION OF THE ACTION OF A LUPINE PROTEIN HYDROLYSATE IN EXPERIMENTAL AUTOIMMUNE ENCEPHALOMYELITIS (EAE)

The dataset includes the raw data from the weight, clinical score, and number of sequences carried out in the work titled "A lupin (Lupinus angustifolius) protein hydrolysate decreases the severity of experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis, a preclinical model of multiple sclerosis". LPH reduced the clinical score of the mice compared to the control group, as well as the maximum and cumulative scores, without changing the day of onset of the symptoms while the therapeutic intervention did not significantly improve the severity of the disease. Fifty-six female C57BL/6N mice (8-weeks-old) from the University of Seville Animal Facility were housed under standard conditions with ad libitum access to water and food. For the induction of EAE, 100 µg of MOG35–55 peptide (Cambridge Research Biochemicals, Cambridge, UK) emulsified in complete Freud´s adjuvant (CFA) containing 4 mg/mL of heat-inactivated Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Sigma-Aldrich, St. Louis, MO, USA) was inoculated subcutaneously. Furthermore, two doses of 400 ng pertussis toxin (Enzo Life Sciences, Farmingdale, NY, USA) were administered intraperitoneally on days 0 and 2 post-induction (p.i.) to induce the disease. An EAE clinical sign score was assigned daily to each mouse as follows: 0 = no clin-ical sign; 1 = no tail tone; 2 = impaired righting reflex; 3 = paralysis of one hind limb; 4 = paralysis of both hind limbs; 5 = paralysis of both hind limbs and one forelimb; 6 = if the score was greater than 5 (including moribund or dead mouse). LPH sequencing was performed using nano high-performance liquid chromatography coupled to an Orbitrap Elite mass spectrometer. The BIOPEP-UWM database was used to identify the motifs with proven biological activity., The data set titled “LPH_EAE_Dataset.xlsx” includes numerical data from mice weight and clinical score, and the numbers of sequences with a determinate biological activity.

Reports related to the study published under the title "Unveiling protective mechanisms of wild olive (wild olive tree) oil in retinal pigment epithelial cells with hypertensive phenotype". This study was funded thanks to the project of the state plan PID2019-109002RB-I00 and the Junta de Andalucía ProyExcel_00516. In both projects, the beneficial properties of wild olive oil at the retinal level are described. Specifically, these data refer to the antioxidant properties of extracellular vesicles obtained from the plasma of animals treated with diets enriched in wild olive oil and their effect on retinal pigment epithelium cells subjected to a hypertensive phenotype. Dataset generated were collected between 2021 and 2024, part of which is the result of research stays abroad in collaboration with the Karolinska Institutet., Figura 1_ MTT and DCFHDA levels.pzfx: data corresponding to manuscript Figure 1 on cell viability and ROS. The dataset includes the raw data carried out in the work titled "Olive seed protein hydrolysates possess antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities in mice and human cells". The olive seed protein hydrolysates (OSPHs) demonstrated antioxidant and immunomodulatory effects on RAW 246.7 cells and human peripheral blood mononuclear cells, suggesting their potential for use in developing new functional foods or nutraceuticals. The aim of this work was to deepen the study of multifunctional behavior of OSPHs obtained from the Frantoio cultivar of Olea europaea L., prepared using two food-grade enzymes, namely Alcalase® (AH) and Papain (PH), studying their antioxidant capacity and possible immunomodulatory activity on a murine monocyte/macrophage cell line (RAW 246.7) and on the human peripheric blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs)., The data set titled “OliveSeedProteinHydrolysates_Dataset.xlsx” includes raw data from in vitro experiments.

ANALYSIS GRIDS OF TEXTBOOKS ON CLIMATE REGULATION AND ITS CONTROLLING FACTORS. SECONDARY AND POST-SECONDARY EDUCATION (SPAIN)
