DATASET FOR 'TARGETED DELIVERY OF THE CB2 RECEPTOR AGONIST JWH-133 VIA VCAM-1-FUNCTIONALISED NANOPARTICLES ATTENUATES ATHEROSCLEROSIS AND REVEALS SEX-SPECIFIC THERAPEUTIC OUTCOMES'
- Martín Navarro, Lucía
- Martín Banderas, Lucía
- Álvarez Fuentes, Josefa
- Herrera González, María Dolores
This dataset contains the experimental data derived from the research project focused on developing a targeted nanotherapeutic strategy for the treatment of atherosclerosis. The therapy utilises poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) nanoparticles functionalised with the VBP binding peptide (targeting vascular cell adhesion molecule-1, VCAM-1) for the localized delivery of the selective CB2 cannabinoid receptor agonist, JWH-133 (VBP-JWH-133-NPs), mitigating systemic side effects and overcoming the low bioavailability of the free compound.
Summary of generated datasets and methodology
Nanoparticle characterization
- Data: Particle size, polydispersity index (PDI), and Zeta potential measured via Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS); encapsulation efficiency (%EE) and drug loading determined by HPLC; peptide conjugation yield and stability profiles.
- Methodology: Preparation of PLGA nanoparticles via emulsion-evaporation/nanoprecipitation followed by surface functionalisation with the VBP peptide using chemical coupling.
In vivo therapeutic efficacy and sex-specific analysis:
- Data: Quantification of body weight and related parameters, organ-to-body weight ratios. aortic plaque burden and lipid deposition (morphometry and immunohistochemistry / Oil Red O staining), systemic inflammatory cytokine levels, and serum lipid panels.
- Methodology: Preclinical trials in male and female ApoE-/- mice on a high-fat diet receiving comparative treatments (vehicle, free JWH-133, and VBP-JWH-133-NPs). Stratified statistical analysis incorporating sex as a biological variable.

This dataset is part of a study that analyzes the thermal conditions in terms of comfort of two homes in the same building that is part of the Casa para Todos program in Ecuador, in 6 different climatic zones in the current climate situation and in the projection to 2050 and 2100 in the RCP 2.6, RCP 4.5 and RCP 8.5 scenarios. The aim of the study is to analyze the building performance, in this case, the adaptive comfort model of ASHRAE 55-2020 has been applied to establish the comfort ranges of each of the climate zones in each scenario. The results show that, due to the environmental conditions of the different areas studied, in each of them it is possible to analyze the performance of the buildings in free oscillation with adaptive comfort ranges, then a great variation between the two houses in the same climatic zone was observed, being the houses on the ground floor the ones that mostly presented a better performance.
The dataset provides detailed information for each locality. It was necessary to obtain the climatic files with the Meteonorm computer program and the subsequent energy simulation of the building in DesignBuilder and EnergyPlus.
El dataset recoge los datos horarios de temperaturas del aire exterior, temperatura operativa de las dos viviendas y límites de confort (ASHRAE 55-2020) en cada una de las localidades a 2020, 2050 RCP 2.6, RCP 4.5 y RCP 8.5 y, 2100 RCP 2.6, RCP 4.5 y RCP 8.5., The dataset contains information obtained from the simulation of a prototype of houses in Ecuador belonging to the "Casa Para Todos" program in the current climate situation and the projection to 2050 and 2100 in each of the three scenarios RCP 2.6, RCP 4.5 and RCP 8.5. The simulations have been developed with DesignBuilder V7 and EnergyPlus V8.9.0. Data on outdoor air temperature in °C, indoor operative temperature in °C and comfort limits according to ASHRAE 55-2020 are included.

DATASET_MECHANICAL HARVESTING AT DAWN IN A SUPER-HIGH-DENSITY TABLE OLIVE ORCHARD. EFFECT ON THE QUALITY OF FRUITS
- Morales Sillero, Ana María
- Jiménez González, María Rocío
- Suárez García, María Paz
- Rallo Morillo, Pilar
- Casanova Lerma, Laura
The olive tree is well adapted to the Mediterranean climate, however, the current increase in temperature as a consequence of the global warming affects the phenological stages and can accelerate the ripening of the fruits, moving the harvesting to periods that are less favorable for quality production. In this work, the impact of harvesting under low environmental temperature conditions (harvesting at dawn when the lowest temperature of the day occurred) on olive quality is explored, with particular emphasis on bruising. The study was carried out in two consecutive years (2015-2016) and used fruit from two cultivars with different tolerance to bruising (Manzanilla de Sevilla and Manzanilla Cacereña), growing in SHD conditions.
