Nuclear pore complexes (NPCs) regulate macromolecular traffic into and out of the cell nucleus. However, the nature of the NPC central transporter remains unknown. We used high-speed atomic force microscopy alongside orthogonal in vitro and in vivo analyses to elucidate the NPC nanomachinery at transport timescales. We show that nuclear transport factors, specifically karyopherins (Kaps), significantly remodel the dynamic behavior of intrinsically disordered phenylalanine-glycine (FG) nucleoporin domains within NPCs. These behaviors shape the structure and function of the NPC permeability barrier, including the formation of a 'central plug'. Consequently, mutant NPCs with enhanced FG-repeat density overtightened the permeability barrier, impairing nucleocytoplasmic transport. NPC-like dynamics and central plug formation could be further replicated in DNA origami nanopores equipped with tethered FG domains but not in vitro FG hydrogels. These discoveries highlight the distinctive properties of the NPC central transporter, significantly advancing our understanding of its complex biological function beyond mesoscopic interpretations., Peer reviewed

Prior to any commercial use, users must contact the PIs. We encourage questions and feedback to the corresponding authors listed in the abstract. In line with the collaborative spirit of this dataset's release, we kindly request notification of any publications or ongoing studies using these data., The two smoothing methods used to produce the L2-trajectories were tested through a benchmarking study using synthetic trajectories with a focus on minimizing the accelerations errors. This study allows to optimize and fix the different parameters and will be the subject of another publication. These two methods were found to give similar results in terms of accelerations errors variance (3-4% in the studied case) and so both were implemented on the L1-trajectories to get the L2 ones., The BioSWOT-Med (10.17600/18002392) and the C-SWOT-2023 (10.17600/18002077) cruises were part of the TOSCA/CNES project BioSWOT-AdAC (https://www.swot-adac.org). BARÓMETRO DE OPINIÓN PÚBLICA DE ANDALUCÍA 2005

ANDALUSIA PUBLIC OPINION BAROMETER 2005

  • Pérez Yruela, Manuel
  • Trujillo Carmona, Manuel
This dataset constitutes a valuable source of information for research in the fields of social sciences, public opinion, political sociology, and electoral studies, as it allows the examination of trends in social perceptions and political behaviour in Andalusia. Furthermore, the Andalusian Public Opinion Barometer has been conducted periodically by the Institute for Advanced Social Studies (IESA-CSIC) since 1996, providing a historical time series that makes it possible to analyse the evolution of citizens’ opinions, attitudes, and perceptions in Andalusia over time., El objetivo del Barómetro de Opinión Pública de Andalucía (BOPA) es analizar las percepciones, actitudes y valoraciones de la ciudadanía andaluza sobre distintos aspectos de la realidad social, política y económica de Andalucía. The objective of the Andalusian Public Opinion Barometer (BOPA) is to analyse the perceptions, attitudes, and evaluations of Andalusian citizens regarding various aspects of the social, political, and economic reality of Andalusia. The topics covered include the overall situation of the Autonomous Community, economic developments, assessments of the Andalusian and Spanish governments, the state of public services—particularly education and healthcare—as well as political culture and the electoral behaviour of the voting-age population. The study is based on a survey of 3,689 Andalusian citizens of legal age with the right to vote, whose fieldwork was carried out in November 2005. The results provide a detailed overview of the main social concerns of the Andalusian population at that time, highlighting issues such as unemployment, the economic crisis, and evaluations of political and institutional performance. The barometer also includes information disaggregated by sociodemographic variables such as age, gender, educational attainment, social class, and recalled vote, enabling comparative analyses of citizens’ opinions., Peer reviewed
