PPARδ rewires cellular metabolism regulating MYC/PGC1A balance. A, Expression of MYC, PGC1A, and MYC/PGC1A ratio in PDX-354 after mitochondrial energy deprivation during 48 to 72 hours (n = 4–7). B,MYC and PGC1A reporter assay. Promoter activity was estimated as luciferase bioluminescence at the indicated times following treatment with PPARδ agonist GW0742 or PPARD overexpression (PPARD OE; n = 3–5). C, PDAC-354 cells were transduced with inducible lentiviral vectors expressing either a nontargeting short hairpin RNA (NT shRNA) or two different shRNAs against MYC (sh#1 and sh#2) or the complete cDNA of PGC1A. Effect of MYC knockdown (shMYC, pooled data for sh#1 and sh#2) or PGC1A overexpression (PGC1A OE) on invasiveness in response to treatment with 5 μmol/L PPARδ agonist L-165 for 48 hours (n = 6–8). D, CUT&Tag analysis of MYC protein binding at the CCNE, PGC1A, SNAI2, and VIM loci. WashU Epigenome Browser tracks showing CUT&TAG signals at the mentioned loci with the indicated transcription start site (TSS). Blue signals represent MYC binding in control (Ctrl) conditions, and red signals represent MYC binding upon 24 hours of etomoxir (Eto) treatment in PDAC-002 cells. E–H, PDAC-215 and 354 cells were transduced as in A, pretreated with doxycycline for 48 hours, and then incubated with MCM or etomoxir. E, OCR changes for maximal respiration (Max resp; left) and ATP-linked respiration (n = 4; right). F, Glycolytic (Glyco) capacity (left) and reserve (n = 4; right). G,ZEB1 gene expression. H, Invasive capacity (n = 10). I, PDAC-354 cells were treated with MCM or 20 μmol/L etomoxir for 48 hours in the presence or absence of the MYC/Max interaction inhibitor Mycro3 (25 μmol/L). Cells were then seeded in modified Boyden invasion chambers containing 20% FBS in the lower compartment. The number of invasive cells was assessed after 16 hours (n = 5). In E, F, and H, the bars represent pooled data from PDAC-215 and 354, showing individual data points corresponding to each PDX. All data are represented as the mean ± SEM. #, P < 0.05; ##, P < 0.01; ###, P < 0.001 vs. unstimulated control. *, P < 0.05; **, P < 0.01; ***, P < 0.001 vs. NT. See also Supplemenatry Figs. Therapeutic targeting of PPARδ impairs invasion in vitro and metastasis in vivo. A, PDAC-215, 354, and 265 cells were pretreated with PPARδ antagonists GSK0660 (10 μmol/L) and GSK3787 (10 μmol/L) and inverse agonist DG172 (2.5 μmol/L) for 1 hour and then treated (PDAC-215 and 354) or not (PDAC-265) with MCM or etomoxir (Eto) for 48 hours. Invasion over 16 hours was assessed in modified Boyden invasion chambers (n = 6). B–F, Spontaneous metastasis upon orthotopic injection of 105 metastatic PDAC-265-GFP-Luc cells (n = 8 mice/group). Following implantation, mice were treated daily with either vehicle, the PPARδ agonist GW0742 (0.3 mg/kg i.p.), or the PPARδ antagonist GSK3787 (3 mg/kg i.p.) until termination of the experiment at week 9, when mice became moribund. Tumor growth was assessed by weekly IVIS. B, Metastasis onset evaluated as hGAPDH absolute copy number in livers. C, Expression of PPARD and downstream targets in pancreatic tumors measured by RT-qPCR. D, Quantification of PPARδ protein expression relative to β-actin that was used as loading control, measured by Western blot. E, Expression levels of PPARδ by IHQ (representative images). F, Expression levels of CK-19 in liver sections (top, representative images) or c-MYC (brown) and VIM (purple) in pancreatic tumors was measured by IHQ (bottom, representative images). MYC and VIM stainings were quantified using the Allred score, and median scores per group are shown as text inserts. DATA EXTRACTED FROM QUANTITATIVE PAPERS USED IN THE SYSTEMATIC REVIEW

  • Casali, Ylenia
  • Balbi, Stefano
  • Eguíluz, Víctor M.
Data extracted from quantitative papers used in the systematic review. The data were extracted by Ylenia Casali in 2024, and the table was compiled on April 7th, 2025. Network type description provides a brief summary of the network models, while Edges and Node descriptions specify the types of nodes and edges used. Since the study focused on the spatial scale of networks, we included information on the number of nodes and the areal extent of the case studies. When the area was not reported in the original paper, we searched for it using Wikipedia or Google and labeled it as “searched.” For details on the network metrics extracted from the literature, refer to S2 Table for the complete list of metrics and references., Peer reviewed

Catalogue of white dwarfs with infrared excess within 100pc. SEDs) of the white dwarfs using the synthetic J-PAS photometry generated with GaiaXPy from Gaia DR3 low-resolution spectra. We complemented these with the latest infrared photometry available at the Virtual Observatory (VO) from surveys as 2MASS, VISTA, UKIDSS, WISE and Spitzer. We used a search radius of 3 arcsec around the translated Gaia coordinates at the epoch of each survey. We used VOSA to fit the SEDs and identified the infrared excesses. We checked optical and infrared images to identify contaminated photometry with Aladin. We obtained a final sample of 456 white dwarfs with infrared excess. Of them, 292 showed reliable infrared excess (157 DAs and 135 non-DAs) and 164 showed tentative infrared excess detection (117 DAs and 47 non-DAs). The ratio of white dwarfs with infrared excess is 9.2+/-0.4%, or 5.9+/-0.3% if we only consider the reliable excess sample. We compared our final sample with the literature. We found that 77% (351) were new identifications., The presence of infrared (IR) excess flux observed in white dwarfs is related to the existence of debris disks or substellar companions. These systems provide important clues in the study of extrasolar planetary material and binary evolution. However, fully characterising their properties requires as statistically significant, complete sample. This work aims to identify a complete sample of white dwarfs with infrared excess emission within 100pc of the Sun. We built the spectral energy distributions (SEDs) of the white dwarfs using synthetic photometry in 56 optical filters of the Javalambre Physics of the Accelerating Universe Astronomical Survey system, generated from Gaia Data Release 3 low-resolution spectra and complemented with the latest infrared photometry available at the Virtual Observatory (VO). VOSA was used to fit the SEDs with different atmospheric white dwarf models depending on the source spectral type. We visually checked optical and infrared images to identify contaminated photometry. We built a catalogue of 456 infrared excess white dwarfs, of which 292 are robust identifications, and 164 are candidates. 351 (75%) are new identifications. This implies a fraction of infrared excess white dwarfs between 5.9+/-0.3% and 9.2+/-0.4%, higher than previous works, but in agreement with some more recent estimates. Furthermore, for the sample of infrared excess white dwarfs, the fraction of sources with non-hydrogen atmosphere increases with the Gaia GBP-GRP colour, contrary to the general white dwarf population. However, this result should be interpreted with caution. Additionally, a thorough comparison of our catalogue with those of previous studies was performed. The sample of white dwarfs with infrared excess emission within 100pc presented in this work is the largest, most complete and reliable to date. Due to their proximity, they are ideal targets for follow-up studies aimed at characterising circumstellar disks, substellar companions, and the composition of accreted planetary material. This dataset belongs to a study where we experimentally manipulated ectoparasite abundance and analysed the gut microbiota of spotless starling nestlings (Sturnus unicolor). Fieldwork was carried out during the 2021 breeding season, from March to June, in a population of spotless starlings breeding in nest boxes at the old railway station of La Calahorra, Granada, southern Spain., Dataset and R scripts used in the manuscript "Ectoparasitism and the gut microbiota: a cross-fostering experiment in a wild passerine", currently under review in FEMS Microbiology Ecology. It includes the R scripts used for data analysis, along with all necessary processed data to reproduce the results. The study investigates how experimentally increased ectoparasitism by Carnus hemapterus affects the gut microbiota of spotless starling (Sturnus unicolor) nestlings, and whether these effects depend on genetic relatedness between nestlings and their social parents using a partial cross-fostering design. The dataset includes 16S rRNA amplicon sequencing data, metadata on experimental treatment and sibling relatedness, parasitism intensity, and nestling phenotypic traits., This work was supported by the Ministerio de Universidades through an FPU predoctoral contract [FPU20/01065] to Antonio José García-Núñez; the Ramón y Cajal programme [RYC-2013-13040] to Gustavo Tomás; a grant for the incorporation of senior researchers [2024ICT167] to Gustavo Tomás; and the Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación/Agencia Estatal de Investigación through grants [PID2020-117429GB-C21, PID2020-117429GB-C22] / 10.13039/501100011033, and the European Regional Development Fund (“A way of making Europe”)., Peer reviewed

SMARTS-ANDICAM optical and NIR data for 41 SNe, complemented by NTT-SOFI NIR imaging., Type Ia supernovae (SNe Ia) provide the most robust means of measuring extragalactic distances. While most of the effort has focused on increasing the number of SNe Ia observed in the optical, near-infrared (NIR) observations remain scarce despite their advantages, that is, reduced dust extinction and a more intrinsic standard candle behavior, requiring little to no empirical corrections. Here, we present ASNOS (ANDICAM-SOFI Near-infrared and Optical type Ia Supernova), a dataset with sample size of 1,482 epochs in the BVRIYJH filters from the ANDICAM instrument on the 1.3-meter SMARTS telescope at Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory, along with 125 JHK epochs from the SOFI instrument on the 3.58-meter New Technology Telescope on the La Silla Observatory. Additionally, we incorporate optical forced photometry from the Zwicky Transient Facility and the Asteroid Terrestrial-impact Last Alert System. The sample comprises 41 SNe Ia in total, including 29 normal events, eight 1991T-like objects, and four peculiar subtypes, all located at redshifts z<0.085. This paper provides a detailed overview of the ASNOS sample selection, data reduction, SN photometry, host-galaxy spectral energy distribution construction, both global and local, and SN light-curve fitting using three methods: SALT3-NIR, SNooPy, and BayeSN. A companion paper will present the cosmological analysis., Peer reviewed
