DISSOLVED N2O AND CH4 CONCENTRATIONS AND ANCILLARY WATER CHEMISTRY IN THE INUNDATED TIDAL SALT MARSHES OF DONANA NATIONAL PARK (SW SPAIN), 2016-2018

  • Huertas, I. Emma
  • Paz, Mercedes de la
  • Pérez, Fiz F.
  • Navarro, Gabriel
  • Flecha, Susana
Donana_N2O_CH4_marsh_2016-2018.csv provides data from the 16 field surveys conducted between March 2016 and March 2018 (99 water samples). Temperature, salinity and pH were measured in situ. Dissolved gases, inorganic nutrients, total dissolved nitrogen, dissolved organic carbon, dissolved oxygen and chlorophyll a were measured in the laboratory. DATETIME_UTC is the sampling date and time in Coordinated Universal Time (YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM, UTC). SITE is the site number (1-7 along the Guadalquivir salinity gradient; 9 = Marisma del Guadiamar). HYDRO_CLASS is the hydrological class of the site (creek_inflow = tidal creek; interior = sheet-flow marsh interior; guadiamar = Guadiamar endpoint). LAT and LON are the site latitude and longitude in decimal degrees (WGS84). TEMPERATURE_C and SALINITY are the in-situ water temperature (degrees Celsius) and salinity (practical salinity scale, dimensionless). PH is the in-situ pH on the NBS scale. O2_MG_L is dissolved oxygen by Winkler titration (mg L-1). AOU_UMOL_KG is the apparent oxygen utilisation (micro mol per kilogram; calculated, not measured). CHLOROPHYLL_A_UG_L is chlorophyll a (micro g L-1). DOC_MG_L is dissolved organic carbon and TDN_MG_L is total dissolved nitrogen, both in mg L-1. NH4_UMOL_L, NO2_UMOL_L and NO3_UMOL_L are ammonium, nitrite and nitrate concentrations, respectively, and PO4_UMOL_L and SIO4_UMOL_L are phosphate and silicate concentrations, all in micro mol L-1. PCO2_UATM is the partial pressure of CO2 (micro atm; calculated from the measured pH and total alkalinity, not measured directly). N2O_NMOL_L and CH4_NMOL_L are the dissolved nitrous oxide and dissolved methane concentrations (n mol L-1)., This data set comprises discrete water-column measurements of dissolved nitrous oxide (N2O) and methane (CH4), together with the accompanying physico-chemical and biogeochemical variables, used to assess the role of the inundated tidal salt marshes of Donana National Park (SW Spain; Guadalquivir estuary and Guadiamar tributary, bounding box approximately Long: -6.39 to -6.27, Lat: 36.86 to 37.08, Datum: WGS84) in estuarine nitrogen removal and in regulating nitrous oxide emissions. The data document the spatial gradient of dissolved gases and nutrients across the marshland, from the tidal creeks that convey estuarine water into the marsh to the inner sheet-flow areas and the upstream Guadiamar marsh, over the period 2016-2018. They also support the calculation of air-water N2O and CH4 fluxes and of the marshland greenhouse gas budget., This research was funded by the Organismo Autonomo de Parques Nacionales (Spanish Ministry for Agriculture, Food and Environment), project 1539/2015. Fiz F. Pérez was supported by the FICARAM+ project (PID2023-148924OB-I00) funded by MICIU/AEI/10.13039/501100011033 and FEDER, UE. S. Flecha was hired under the Generation D initiative, promoted by Red.es (Ministry for Digital Transformation and the Civil Service), financed by the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan through the European Union's NextGeneration funds (MMT24-PTI+OCEANS-01). M. de la Paz acknowledges support from the Spanish Ministry of Science under grant PTA2024-025174-I., - Dissolved N2O and CH4: static headspace equilibration gas chromatography on an Agilent 7890 GC with an Electron Capture Detector (N2O) and a Flame Ionization Detector (CH4) (de la Paz et al. 2015)., Peer reviewed

The dataset comprises processed peptidomic outputs generated from Thermo Scientific Orbitrap Exploris 240 LC-MS/MS analyses. Spectra were analysed using PEAKS Studio 11 (Bioinformatics Solutions Inc.) for de novo sequencing and database matching against in-house protein libraries containing bovine casein variants and porcine endogenous proteins. The dataset contains peptide-level and protein-level identification tables exported from PEAKS Studio. Data include peptide sequences, protein accessions, confidence scores (-10LgP), peptide abundances, retention times, mass-to-charge ratios, protein coverage values, and protein abundance measurements. The dataset was generated to evaluate the contribution of dietary and endogenous proteins to the peptide pool reaching the distal ileum and to investigate how seaweed-derived polysaccharides affect protein digestion under in vivo conditions., [Code Description] CAS Casein CAS_AG75 Casein:Agar (75:25) CAS_ALG75 Casein:Alginate (75:25) CAS_CAR75 Casein:Carrageenan (75:25) CAS_CEL75 Casein:Cellulose (75:25) WPI Whey Protein Isolate WPI_AG75 Whey Protein Isolate:Agar (75:25) WPI_ALG75 Whey Protein Isolate:Alginate (75:25) WPI_CAR75 Whey Protein Isolate:Carrageenan (75:25) WPI_CEL75 Whey Protein Isolate:Cellulose (75:25), This dataset contains peptide- and protein-level identifications obtained from LC-MS/MS analysis of ileal digesta samples collected from pigs fed diets containing milk proteins and seaweed-derived polysaccharides.
