DATASET_CYBERVICTIMIZATION_HUMOR_SUICIDAL_IDEATION

The use of ICTs has increased in recent years, and with it, the rates of cyberbullying. This stressful event triggers psychological distress, which can lead adolescents to suicidal ideation. In the last decade, self-defeating humor has been shown to be a risk factor for both cybervictimization and suicidal ideation. However, these studies are still scarce, and it is necessary to explore this relationship. This research has two objectives: to analyze the relationships between cybervictimization, suicidal ideation and self-defeating humor; and to examine self-defeating humor as a possible moderator variable in the relationship between cybervictimization and suicidal ideation. For this, in the present study, a sample of 362 adolescents (44.75% men and 54.42% women) from southern Spain, aged between 12 and 18 years (MAge = 14.64, SD = 1.71) was evaluated through questionnaires to evaluate cybervictimization, self-defeating humor, and suicidal ideation. The data were analyzed using SPSS and the PROCESS macro (Model 1). The results showed that self-defeating humor plays a moderating role in the relationship between cybervictimization and suicidal ideation (β = .24, p < .05). This shows that at high levels of self-defeating humor, there is a greater probability that suicidal ideation will appear during adolescence in the face of the cybervictimization experience. It is important to continue researching in this direction to focus suicide prevention and intervention on replacing this maladaptive humor style with healthier humor styles and interpersonal interaction strategies, Grupo PAIDI Applied Positive Lab CTS-1048 (Junta de Andalucía) Proyecto I+D+i del Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación de España (PID2020-117006RB-I00) Fondos FEDER/Junta de Andalucía (UMA 18-FEDERJA-147)

This study analyses the influence of spatial presence and copresence on consumers' emotional and behavioural responses in a virtual retail environment. An experiment was carried out in which 306 coffee consumers viewed a 360° virtual reality video of a Nespresso boutique. Spatial presence, copresence, emotions (affective destination image) and behavioural intentions (visit and purchase) were measured through a questionnaire. The results, analysed using PLS-SEM, showed that: spatial presence and copresence positively predicted positive emotions, which in turn determined behavioural intentions; copresence increased spatial presence and both dimensions were indirectly related to consumer intentions; and that, of all the control variables, gender was the only one to moderate the model´s relationships, particularly the relationships between the sense of presence dimensions and affective responses. The research contributes to the literature on sense of presence and customer experience by providing empirical evidence in a retail marketing context. It also provides useful information for physical and virtual environment designers about the influence of environmental factors on consumers´ perceptions and behaviours., GRUPO DE INVESTIGACIÓN SEJ-314 JUNTA DE ANDALUCÍA

REPLICATION DATA FOR: AN ORDINAL ITEM RESPONSE MODEL FOR UNDERSTANDING ATTITUDES.

Is supplement to: Mauerer, I. & Tutz, G. (2025). "An Ordinal Item Response Model for Understanding Attitudes". Forthcoming Sociological Methods and Research. doi: 10.1177/00491241251403078 Open Access, We present an item response model for ordinal public opinion data to understand individual-level variation in attitudes as a function of covariates. The approach allows investigating how individuals (or population subgroups) differ in substantive stances and attitude strength. It is a two-dimensional partial credit model that incorporates covariates linked to attitude direction and strength into the basic model. We exemplify the types of substantive insights into heterogeneity that can be obtained from the approach but not from existing models with two applications: attitudes toward gender equality (European Values Study) and the evaluation of presidential candidates (American National Election Study)., Program EMERGIA (EMC21-00256), Junta de Andalucía

Background: Adolescents are the most vulnerable population for problematic smartphone use (PSU). The scientific literature provides evidence that factors such as fear of missing out (FoMO) and emotional intelligence (EI) can be related to problematic internet behaviours, but few studies have been conducted on PSU in adolescents. This study aimed to examine how FoMO and EI might explain PSU in adolescents. Methods: The sample consisted of 537 students (12–17 years old) who completed scales assessing problematic smartphone use, fear of missing out, and emotional intelligence. Results: The results showed in both cases moderate, significant and positive correlations between PSU and FoMO, while significant and negative correlations between PSU and EI were observed. In addition, high FoMO and deficits in EI were found to explain part of the variance in PSU. Conclusions: The results are discussed based on the Theory of compensatory internet use. The need to address EI and FoMO in educational contexts is also justified., Parte del proyecto I+D+i PID2020-117006RB-I00, financiado por MCIN/AEI/10.13039/501100011033, Grupo de investigación Applied Positive Lab CTS-1048G-FEDER (Junta de Andalucía), Universidad de Málaga (M. HIPPOCAMPAL PROTEOMICS IN A MICE MODEL OF DOUBLE STRESS DURING JUVENILE AND ADULT STAGES.

  • Chaves-Peña, Patricia
  • Pérez-Martín, Margarita
  • Pedraza-Benítez, María del Carmen
Proteomic analysis was performed on left hippocampal tissue from C57BL/6J mice subjected to different juvenile and adult stress paradigms and compared with control animals (CTRL). Experimental groups included mice exposed to juvenile stress (JS), adult stress (AS), or combined JS+AS, together with a control group. Hippocampi were collected at postnatal day 90 (PD90). Left hippocampi were homogenized in RIPA buffer, protein concentration was determined using the BCA assay, and samples were digested via gel-assisted proteolysis with trypsin. Peptide mixtures were analyzed by ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography coupled to high-resolution mass spectrometry (UHPLC-HRMS) using a Q-Exactive HF-X instrument (SCAI, Universidad de Málaga), acquiring MS/MS spectra for protein identification. Raw data were processed using Proteome Discoverer 2.5 and searched against the Mus musculus UniProt database (release 2025-02). A total of 3,850 high-confidence proteins were identified (FDR < 1%, ≥2 peptides, master proteins). Label-free quantification was performed using precursor ion intensities and normalized by total peptide amount. ANOVA identified upregulated proteins (p < 0.05 and log2 FC ≥ 1) and downregulated proteins (p < 0.05 and log2 FC ≤ −1) in the following comparisons: JS vs CTRL, AS vs CTRL, JS+AS vs CTRL, JS vs JS+AS, and AS vs JS+AS. Male and female datasets were analyzed separately. Raw proteomic data and volcano plots are available in RIUMA (Universidad de Málaga).
