The current study examined the roles of dark triad traits, general moral disengagement, and facets of emotional intelligence in bullying and cyberbullying behaviors. A sample of 1,146 (580 girls) adolescents (Mage = 14.19; SD = 1.60) from six high schools participated. Hierarchical regression analyses were used to exploratorily analyze the aforementioned factors. The results revealed that psychopathology, Machiavellianism, and moral disengagement were significantly associated with both bullying and cyberbullying behaviors. Even after accounting for those contributors, the regulation of emotion facet was found to explain a significant amount of unique variance in both aggressive phenomena. The findings of the present study suggest that beyond psychopathology, Machiavellianism, and moral disengagement, the regulation of emotion still matters in preventing cyberbullying aggression in both online and virtual contexts. Identifying and targeting a lack of emotion regulation, even in adolescents with a dark personality and morally disengaged profile, may be important for the prevention of bullying and cyberbullying., Esta base de datos es parte del proyecto de I+D+i PID2020-117006RB-I00, financiado por MCIN/AEI/10.13039/501100011033/, el grupo PAIDI Applied Positive Lab (CTS-1048) (Junta de Andalucía), de la Junta de Andalucía con el contrato posdoctoral “Talento Doctores” [POSTDOC_21_00364] y la Universidad de Málaga

REPLICATION DATA FOR: HETEROGENEITY IN GENERAL MULTINOMIAL CHOICE MODELS.
- Mauerer, Ingrid Doris
- Tutz, Gerhard
The files contain the commands to run the models and create the tables in Mauerer, I. & Tutz, G. (2023). "Heterogeneity in General Multinomial Choice Models." Statistical Methods & Applications 32(1): 129–148. https://doi.org/10.1007/s10260-022-00642-5, Different voters behave differently at the polls, different students make different university choices, or different countries choose different health care systems. Many research questions important to social scientists concern choice behavior, which involves dealing with nominal dependent variables. Drawing on the principle of maximum random utility, we propose applying a flexible and general heterogeneous multinomial logit model to study differences in choice behavior. The model systematically accounts for heterogeneity that classical models do not capture, indicates the strength of heterogeneity, and permits examining which explanatory variables cause heterogeneity. As the proposed approach allows incorporating theoretical expectations about heterogeneity into the analysis of nominal dependent variables, it can be applied to a wide range of research problems. Our empirical example uses individual-level survey data to demonstrate the benefits of the model in studying heterogeneity in electoral decisions., EMERGIA, Junta de Andalucia

DATASET CYBERVICTIMIZATION:SOMATIC COMPLAINTS.
- Rey-Peña, Lourdes
- Neto, Félix
- Extremera-Pacheco, Natalio
Background/Objective: The main purpose of this study was to examine the rela-tionships among cybervictimization, maladaptive cognitive emotion regulation strategies andsomatic complaints in a 4-month follow-up study. Method: A total of 1,024 high school students(456 male and 568 female, M (SD) = 13.69 years (1.3 years), range 12---18 years, voluntarily par-ticipated in this study. Measures of cybervictimization and cognitive strategies were obtainedat Time 1. Four months later (Time 2), measures of somatic complaints were obtained. Results:Multiple mediation analyses were conducted to determine the mediating roles of maladaptivestrategies in the link between cybervictimization and somatic complaints. As expected, path-analytic results showed that cybervictimization predicted somatic symptoms. Furthermore, some maladaptive regulation strategies, namely self-blame and rumination, partially medi-ated the link between cybervictimization and somatic symptoms evaluated 4-months later. Conclusions: The findings are discussed in terms of the role that maladaptive cognitive emotionregulation strategies might play with regards to physical health in cyberbullying episodes. Ingeneral, these findings have important implications for developing an understanding about theaffective determinants of somatic health problem initiation and maintenance after a victim-ization and for developing intervention programs specifically for cybervictimized adolescents.© 2020 Published by Elsevier Espa˜na, S.L.U. on behalf of Asociaci´on Espa˜nola de Psicolog´ıa Con-ductual. Alcohol use disorder (AUD) is highly prevalent, and over 50% of AUD patients also suffer major depressive disorders. Selective 5-HT reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) can reduce rodent ethanol drinking but exert modest clinical efficacy in alcoholic individuals. Finding new pharmacological strategies that could modulate alcohol consumption and depression is necessary. We have analyzed the effect of Galanin (1–15) [GAL(1–15)] on escitalopram (ESC)-mediated effect in alcohol consumption using the alcohol self-administration test, the nuclei involved in the effect, and whether GAL(1–15) + ESC modulated the response in despair or anxiety tests in animals under chronic alcohol intake. GAL(1–15) + ESC combination substantially reduced alcohol intake in the alcohol self-administration test and, moreover, enhanced the reduction of reward capacity of ESC on different reinforcers such as sucrose or saccharine. GAL(1–15) + ESC coadministration significantly decreases the number of C-Fos-IR TH cell bodies in the VTA, and PCA analysis suggests that one functional network, including VTA, RMTg and DR, is involved in these effects. Significantly in rats with chronic alcohol consumption, GAL(1–15) reversed adverse ESC-mediated effects in the depression-related behavioural test and forced swimming test. The results open up the possibility of using GAL(1–15) in combination with the SSRI Escitalopram as a novel strategy in AUD comorbidity with depression., This work was supported by grants awarded by Spanish Ministry of Economy PID2020- 114392RB-100, PDC2021-121566-100 and by Junta de Andalucía P20-00026-R and PI-0083-2019.

Psychological distress is an increasing concern among adolescents worldwide. Cybervictimization is considered one of the stressors that adolescents may face, and it significantly impacts various indicators of suicide risk (i.e., symptoms of depression, anxiety, and stress, and suicidal ideation). However, teacher emotionally intelligent behaviors (TEIB) might mitigate the links between cybervictimization experiences and suicide risk factors. This study aimed to examine the relationships between cybervictimization and several suicide risk indicators, as well as the potential moderating role of TEIB in these links. A sample of 1,866 (996 girls) adolescents (Mage = 13.99, SD = 1.44) participated in this study and completed widely validated measures. Moderation analyses revealed that TEIB moderated the positive associations between cybervictimization and symptoms of depression, anxiety, and stress, even after controlling for the effects of sociodemographic factors (i.e., age and gender) and emotional intelligence. However, TEIB did not moderate the link between cybervictimization and suicidal ideation. These novel findings both underscore the significance of students' perceptions of TEIB in shaping their psychological well-being and highlight potential avenues for research aimed at mitigating the consequences of cybervictimization., This work was part of the R+D+i project PID2020-117006RB-I00, funded by MCIN/AEI/10.13039/501100011033/ and PAIDI Group CTS-1048 (Junta de Andalucía).
