  • Escofet Martin, David
  • Ros Morente, Agnès
  • Torrelles Nadal, Cristina

  • Jardí Ferré, Andrea
  • Ballesté Escorihuela, Marc
  • Petreñas, Cristina
  • Sabando, Dorys
  • Durà Roumens, Iona
This dataset contains responses from 519 preservice teachers enrolled at two universities in Catalonia, Spain (University of Barcelona and University of Lleida). Data were collected using the EU Survey platform, through an online questionnaire comprising four validated psychological instruments: the Multicultural Efficacy Scale (Guyton & Wesche, 2005), the Cultural Intelligence Scale (Ang et al., 2015), the Scale of Ethnocultural Empathy (Wang et al., 2003), and the Multicultural Ideology Scale (Berry, 2005). The dataset contains baseline or pre-test survey responses collected as part of a larger research project evaluating the impact of a training programme on preservice teachers' multicultural self-efficacy and related attitudinal and cognitive variables. The data support research on how preservice teachers perceive and engage with cultural and linguistic diversity in classrooms.

REPLICATION DATA FOR: 'DO DEEPFAKES ADEQUATELY DISPLAY EMOTIONS? A STUDY ON DEEPFAKE FACIAL EMOTION EXPRESSION'

  • García, Roberto
  • López-Gil, Juan-Miguel
  • Gil, Rosa
Recent technological advancements in Artificial Intelligence make it easy to create deepfakes, hyper-realistic videos in which images and video clips are processed to create fake videos that appear authentic. Many of them are based on swapping faces without the consent of the person whose appearance and voice are used. As emotions are inherent in human communication, studying how deepfakes transfer emotional expressions from original to fakes is relevant. In this work, we conduct an in-depth study on facial emotional expression in deepfakes using a well-known face swap-based deepfake database. First, we extracted the photograms from their videos. Then, we analyzed the emotional expression in both the original and the faked versions of the video recordings for all performers in the database. Results show that emotional expressions are not adequately transferred between original recordings and the deepfakes created from them. The high variability in emotions and performers detected between original and fake recordings indicates that performer emotion expressiveness should be considered for better deepfake generation or for detecting them.

EXPERT ASSESSMENT ON FOREST RESTORATION AND ADAPTATION TO CLIMATE CHANGE IN SPAIN (REFORADAPT PROJECT, DELPHI SURVEY - PHASE I)

  • Àvila Callau, Aitor
  • Erdozain Ibarra, Maitane
  • Madrid Ayala, Victoria Paz
  • Miguel Magaña, Sergio de
This dataset compiles the information collected during the first phase of the Delphi process carried out within the framework of the REFORADAPT project, with the support of Fundación Biodiversidad of the Spanish Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, through its grant programme for projects contributing to the implementation of the National Climate Change Adaptation Plan 2021–2030. In this stage, more than 60 experts in forest restoration and adaptation in Spain participated through an online questionnaire, representing academia, public administration, the private sector, and non-governmental organisations. The process aimed to gather and analyse information structured around three thematic blocks. The first focused on assessing the degree of consensus regarding definitions of forest restoration and forest adaptation to climate change, based on a set of proposed statements. The second addressed the identification and prioritisation of the main challenges, opportunities, and needs related to forest restoration and adaptation to climate change in the Spanish context. The third dealt with the evaluation of the relevance of different indicators for measuring the success of forest restoration projects, including both those proposed in the EU Nature Restoration Law and others drawn from scientific literature. The dataset includes anonymised responses from participants, along with descriptive variables that allow for the analysis of the diversity of profiles and opinions within the expert group. It contains information on the topics evaluated and the ratings assigned in each thematic block. The dataset is provided in four CSV files: three corresponding to the thematic blocks (concepts, challenges, and indicators), and a fourth containing information on the participants’ profiles. In these files, each row represents a participant and each column corresponds to an associated variable. A README file is also included, providing detailed descriptions of the variables and associated metadata.
