  • Megra, Kassahun Tadesse
  • Mani Kala, Saranprabhu
  • Zsembinszki, Gabriel
  • Borri, Emiliano
  • Cabeza, Luisa F.
This dataset is a collection of data used to describe the thermal characteristics and performance of thermal energy storage (TES) tanks. This dataset was obtained through experimental investigations conducted on conventional TES tank, as well as vertical and horizontal bio-inspired TES tanks, using manganese(II) nitrate hexahydrate as the phase change material (PCM). The experiments were performed in the PCM temperature range of 15 to 45 ºC, and the heat transfer fluid (HTF) temperature was maintained at 45 ºC during charging and at 15 ºC during discharging. This dataset includes the temperature values of the PCM & HTF, flow rates, charging and discharging time durations, and mean power values during charging and discharging processes.

This dataset contains responses from a quasi-experimental pre-post intervention study conducted among third-year Bachelor's degree in Nursing students and fourth-year Double Bachelor's degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics and Physiotherapy students enrolled at a public health sciences university in Catalonia, Spain, during the spring semester of 2026. Data were collected to evaluate the effect of an educational escape room as a game-based learning strategy on teamwork competencies in an interprofessional context. The dataset includes pre- and post-intervention questionnaire data. Variables cover basic sociodemographic characteristics (gender and degree programme), individual and group teamwork competencies assessed through the individual and group teamwork questionnaires developed by the Teaching Innovation Network for Assessment at the University of Girona, and gameful experience assessed through the Spanish version of the Gameful Experience Scale (GAMEX). Both teamwork questionnaires use a 4-point Likert scale, while the GAMEX uses a 5-point Likert scale. Data are fully anonymised through the use of random participant codes, contain no direct identifiers, and consist mainly of ordinal and categorical variables with explicit coding.

This dataset supports a study aimed at developing a conceptual and methodological framework for the systemic integration of ethics and sustainability into institutional accreditation in higher education. The data were generated through a three-stage conceptual design: a critical review of theoretical foundations and international benchmarks, a comparative analysis of AQU Catalunya's institutional accreditation framework against selected international accreditation models, and the development of a context-sensitive proposal aligned with the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG). The dataset includes: (Table III) a multidimensional framework linking institutional dimensions, evidence, and indicators for ethics and sustainability assessment; (Table IV) a theory-based self-assessment rubric designed to evaluate the integration of ethics and sustainability within higher education institutional accreditation processes, developed as the principal outcome of the study; (Table A) an overview of the accreditation frameworks analysed and their treatment of ethics and sustainability; (Table B) a comparative analysis of evidence related to ethics and institutional sustainability across accreditation models; (Table C) a comparison of indicators used to assess ethics and sustainability in different accreditation systems; (Table D) a mapping of ethics and sustainability assessment criteria across institutional quality dimensions; and (Table E) a methodological traceability matrix linking source documents, theoretical foundations, and rubric construction. The materials provide a foundation for understanding how ethics, sustainability, institutional integrity, and emerging challenges such as AI ethics can be incorporated into institutional accreditation systems. They are intended to support accreditation agencies, policymakers, and higher education institutions in strengthening accountability, institutional integrity, and sustainable quality assurance practices

This dataset contains anonymised data collected from healthcare professionals who participated in a study evaluating the acceptability, usability, and perceived effectiveness of two personal protective equipment (PPE) training modalities during the COVID-19 pandemic: immersive virtual reality (IVR) training and conventional video-based training. Data were collected in a university hospital and five primary care centres in Catalonia, Spain, between January and December 2021. The dataset includes participants' demographic and professional characteristics, training modality received, healthcare setting, and responses to a post-intervention questionnaire assessing perceived safety and learning, usefulness and performance, satisfaction and training experience, and usability. The data support analyses comparing perceptions of PPE training across professional groups, age categories, healthcare settings, and educational approaches. The post-intervention questionnaire was specifically developed for the present study and included demographic and professional variables, previous experience with PPE and virtual reality training, and perceptions of training modalities. The instrument comprised 15 quantitative items organised into four domains: Safety and Learning (3 items), Usefulness and Performance (4 items), Satisfaction and Experience (4 items), and Usability (4 items). Responses were rated on a 10-point scale, with higher scores indicating more favourable perceptions of the training intervention

FUNCTIONAL TRAIT CHANGES, PRODUCTIVITY SHIFTS AND VEGETATION STABILITY IN MOUNTAIN GRASSLANDS DURING A SHORT-TERM WARMING

  • Debouk, Haifa
  • de Bello, Francesco
  • Sebastià, Ma. T.
Plant functional traits underlie vegetation responses to environmental changes such as global warming, and consequently influence ecosystem processes. While most of the existing studies focus on the effect of warming only on species diversity and productivity, we further investigated (i) how the structure of community plant functional traits in temperate grasslands respond to experimental warming, and (ii) whether species and functional diversity contribute to a greater stability of grasslands, in terms of vegetation composition and productivity. Intact vegetation turves were extracted from temperate subalpine grassland (highland) in the Eastern Pyrenees and transplanted into a warm continental, experimental site in Lleida, in Western Catalonia (lowland). The impacts of simulated warming on plant production and diversity, functional trait structure, and vegetation compositional stability were assessed. We observed an increase in biomass and a reduction in species and functional diversity under short-term warming. The functional structure of the grassland communities changed significantly, in terms of functional diversity and community-weighted means (CWM) for several traits. Acquisitive and fast-growing species with higher SLA, early flowering, erect growth habit, and rhizomatous strategy became dominant in the lowland. Productivity was significantly positively related to species, and to a lower extent, functional diversity, but productivity and stability after warming were more dependent on trait composition (CWM) than on diversity. The turves with more acquisitive species before warming changed less in composition after warming. Results suggest that (i) the short-term warming can lead to the dominance of acquisitive fast growing species over conservative species, thus reducing species richness, and (ii) the functional traits structure in grassland communities had a greater influence on the productivity and stability of the community under short-term warming, compared to diversity effects. In summary, short-term climate warming can greatly alter vegetation functional structure and its relation to productivity., Dades primàries associades a un article publicat a la revista Plos One disponible a l'adreça https://doi.org/10.1371/journal.pone.0141899
