Bulwer’s petrel captures from 2007 to 2018 specifying the reproductive performance/status of the individuals (1=unknown reproductive performance, 2=successful breeder, 3=failure at incubation, 4=failure at chick-rearing, 5=non-breeder and 6=breeder with unknown reproductive performance), their colony (Vila or Montaña Clara) and their sex (0=not sexed, 1=male and 2=female). Data from Vila islet in Azores Islands were collected from 2007 to 2012 and in 2016; data from Montaña Clara islet in Canary Islands were collected from 2010 to 2018.

Arxius de dades: sobre la baldriga cendrosa del Mediterrani (Calonectris diomedea) recollides a Isla Palomas (Murcia), Cala Morell (Menorca), Illa de Zembra (Tunisia), i Illa Paximada (Creta, Grècia) des de 01/06/2014 fins 30/06/2016., Datasets ftom Calonectris diomedea collected in lsla Palomas (Murcia), Cala Morell (Minorca), Island of Zembra (Tunis), and Paximada Island (Crete, Greece) from 01/06/2014 to 30/06/2016., Data is split in three datasets accounting for positioning data in the Mediterranean (GLSdata.E&E.csv), activity/immersion data during autumn and spring migrations (ACTdata.hourly.E&E.csv), and morphological data (Biometry.E&E.csv) of the four sampled population.

We evaluated the degree of sexual segregation (SS) in the feeding ecology, in the choice of main non-breeding areas, in behaviour and in migratory phenology of three closely related shearwaters: Scopoli’s, Cory’s and Cape Verde shearwaters (Calonectris diomedea, C. borealis and C. edwardsii, respectively) during the non-breeding period in relation to the conditions of their different life strategies. The main objective of the study is to better understand the ecological and evolutionary role of sex on the spatial, behavioural and feeding ecology of birds during the non-breeding period, since most studies on birds have focused on the breeding period. The referred issues were addressed through a multidisciplinary approach combining geolocation and stable isotope data.
