BIOMEGA Cruise (29GD20031009) carried out on the Research Vessel García del Cid in 2003, The campaign aims to carry out a sampling in the transition zone located between the western and eastern Alborán Sea. This zone is characterized by the presence of highly active mesoscale structures (10 to 100 km in size) such as fronts and eddys formed as a result of the interaction between incoming Atlantic waters through the Strait of Gibraltar and the Mediterranean waters resident in the alborán basin. Specific objectives -Make a high resolution CTD mesh (10 days) -Make a yoyo CTD station for 24 hours -Make sampling with LHPR plankton net (2 days)
